Copper Salt and Pepper Grinder Set by JCPKitchen

In this user manual, we will share some tips and tricks on how to operate your new Copper Salt
and Pepper Grinder Set. In case we missed something or you have an additional question, do not
hesitate to contact us!
First, let’s start with an important message: the parts in the grinders that are actually grinding the
spices are made of high quality ceramic material (the white parts inside the grinder). This is
extremely durable material but very sensitive to moisture. Therefore, please do not immerse these
parts in water.
If you want to clean these parts, we recommend cleaning them with a small brush.
In the case you accidently did wash these parts with water, we advise you to let it dry completely
(this can take some time) before usage.
Other general cleaning guidelines:
- We do not recommend putting the grinders or any parts of it in the dishwasher
- The glass bottle can be washed with soap or a damp cloth (recommended). Let it dry completely
before reusing the grinders.
- Clean the body of the mills with a soft, dry cloth. Never immerse the mill in water. Clean the insides
of the mill with a small brush.
Assembly
It might happen that if you are trying to adjust the size of the ground spices, the spring-loaded
ceramic portion comes apart. This happens when you completely unscrew the knob.
Here we will cover how to re-assemble all the parts in a correct way:
- First, put back the spring. The smallest side goes first. So the widest part is on top
- Then you put the white ceramic grinder part on top of the spring, with the widest side on top
- After that, you screw the knob on the thread

Please be careful when setting the grinder on the coarsest setting. In order to avoid that the knob
would fall off during grinding we advise to set the knob on the thread and screw it at least ¾ of a
turn. This will also make sure the lid will fit and it will grind coarse.

Grinding setting tips:
- If you want to change the coarseness of the grinder, you have to turn the knob clockwise for
fine and counterclockwise for coarse. Just try it out to find your preferred setting.
- Make sure the white knob is in contact with the white grinder head below it. This is to ensure
the best grinding performance and also to avoid that the know falls off during grinding.
o If not, take it out completely and clean the spices out of it with a small brush and
place it back.
o If you have any troubles putting the pieces correctly together, the best way is to take
them apart completely and clean all parts with a dry cloth to remove all spices in
between. (don’t use water or a wet cloth as these parts need to stay dry)

Step 1: Unscrew the top.
Unscrew by turning the knob counterclockwise and remove the grinder head.
Remove any spices from the knob and grinder head.

Step 2: Clean and place the spring correctly on the metal pin.
Remove any spices from the white grinder part and put the spring straight onto the
metal pin.
The spring should be positioned with the smallest part first and the widest side
should be on top:

Step 3: Place parts back together
Put the grinder head on top of the spring.
Turn the knob on the metal pin and make sure to turn at least ¾ of a turn. Even
better is a full turn. Make sure the knob is turned against the grinder head. Turn even
more clockwise for a finer grind.
- In case you are facing issues with one grinder, please also try switching the complete grinder
heads. So unscrew the glass bottle (for example with pepper) and screw it on the other
bottle with salt and test the grinder.

Magnets
Some customers mention that the magnet is not strong enough. Actually, the magnet is indeed not
super strong, but that allows users to take off the cap fluently without any issues. Don’t you hate it
when you need to season while cooking and you are having difficulties taking out that cap off? Fast
and easy, that’s what we prefer when preparing food!
Please note that the magnet is strong enough to keep the lid in place, even when you hold the
grinder upside down.
