Note: RF-only devices such as this product require at least one dual-band
INSTEON product for communication to powerline-only devices.
1) Be sure the USB Stick is not connected to your PC or Mac
2) Go to http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
to download the driver file
• Under the section VCP Drivers, select the correct driver link for your operating system and hardware
3) S ave, extract and then open/run the driver file
• For Mac users, locate the disk image in your Downloads folder and double-click to have the image
mounted. The driver window will open – double-click the correct installer package for your OS
version. Once the installer is done, you’ll need to reboot your Mac.
4) Plug USB Stick into an available port on your PC or Mac
The USB Stick Status LED will turn on solid green (the Status LED will remain on as long as unit is
plugged in)
5) Start your INSTEON-compatible software and follow its instructions to add and use USB Stick
NOTE: USB Stick will communicate with a PC as long as it is connected. This may cause the computer to wake
after entering sleep mode.
