INTRODUCTION
The following information provides an update regarding replacement
brake fluid described in your Owner’s Guide. This supplement has been
supplied to complement the Owner’s Guide. By referring to this
supplement, you can properly identify the correct replacement brake
fluid for your vehicle’s specific brake system. The following describes the
two available brake systems and what brake fluid to use for each. Refer
to the Owner’s Guide for all other required brake fluid
information and warnings.
CHECKING AND ADDING BRAKE FLUID
• Hydromax brake fluid reservoir
Chassis with Gross Vehicle Weight Ratings of 20 500 lbs (9 299 kg) and
22 000 lbs (9 979 kg) are equipped with Hydromax Brake Booster
Systems and must use Super DOT-4 Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid when
brake service/maintenance is required.
• Hydroboost brake fluid reservoir
Chassis with Gross Vehicle Weight Ratings of 15 700 lbs (7 121 kg) and
18 000 lbs (8 165 kg) are equipped with Hydroboost Brake Booster
Systems and must use DOT-3 Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid when brake
service/maintenance is required.
