and maintenance of hot water heating
systems. There are no user-serviceable
parts on the Divicon preassembled
mixing valve station.
Ensure main power supply to
equipment, the heating system, and all
external controls has been deactivated.
Close main oil or gas supply valve. Take
precautions in both instances to avoid
accidental activation of power during
service work.

Right- and left-hand mount assembly
The Divicon preassembled mixing valve
station is factory-shipped for either a
right-hand mount or left-hand mount
configuration.
If you have the required configuration,
continue with section entitled “Assembly
and connection to the boiler” on page 8.
Should you have the wrong configuration,
the Divicon mixing valve station can be
reversed in the field.
Changing the Divicon configuration
1. Unscrew and remove pump cover ,
mixing valve cover , and mixing valve
insert .
2. Set “O”-rings and into pump
cover . Place “O”-ring into mixing
valve cover . Fasten both covers on
opposite side.
3. Loosen mixing valve lever and label
plate , turn both over and reassemble.
4. Reinstall mixing valve insert ,with
notch in the position diagrammed in
Fig. 1 detail.
5. Mount the mixing valve lever in an
identical orientation to notch and in
the setting “10”.
6. Remove pressure by-pass valve
(illustrated on page 9).
7. Turn ball valves and 180ºby
loosening both unions.
8. Reinstall pressure by-pass valve on
opposite side.
9. Refer to page 10 for instructions of how
to attach the insulating shell.

Turn direction of mixing valve motor
(actuator) can be reversed from default
factory setting if a different configuration of
the Divicon unit is necessary. Proceed as
follows:
1. Deactivate Vitotronic control and main
power to heating system.
2. Remove cover of mixing valve motor (a).
3. For Divicon with Vitotronic 200,unplug
the plug-in connector of the mixing valve
motor and rotate 180º (b). Insert plug-in
connector into terminal again (Fig. 2).
For Divicon with Vitotronic 300, switch
internal switch of mixing valve controller
from factory default position I to II
(Fig. 3).
4. Reinstall cover.
5. Reactivate Vitotronic control and main
power to heating system.
6. Verify correct rotation of mixing valve
motor using the diagnostic test procedure
outlined in separate Vitotronic control

Assembly and connection to the boiler
Ball valves have Teflon seals. Always
use a pipe wrench on the hexagon
ends of the ball valve to counteract the
tightening force when attaching
fittings.
Do not solder or weld any fitting
already attached to the ball valves.
Inspect all gasketed fittings for defects
and clean surfaces.
CAUTION
The heating system supply is marked with
YV” and the return is marked with “BR”.
1. The boiler connection fittings
complete with isolation valves and
gaskets of the supply and return must
be fastened, aligned and tightened.
2. Attach the Divicon mixing valve station
with gaskets and lock nuts to the
boiler supply and return connection.
A 90º elbow kit or a tee kit may be
installed between the boiler and the
Divicon mixing valve station in certain
situations. See page 14.
3. Align the Divicon mixing valve station
and tighten all locking nuts.
4. Mount the pump with “O”-ring on
the station using the M 6 screws. The
pump adaptor housing is equipped with a
plastic insert. Align both openings to fit
properly into the cast openings .
Tighten the 4 bolts uniformly and in a
cross-wise fashion.
Pressure by-pass valve connection
Remove caps and connect the pressure
by-pass valve.
Should the valve be installed and system is
already filled, the system does not need to
be drained. Close the 4 isolation valves and
carefully remove caps - proceed with
valve installation.
IMPORTANT
If the pressure by-pass valve is shipped
separately, the copper pipe may need to be
cut to proper length.

Some advantages include:
HRegulation of the pressure between
supply and return in a closed-loop
heating system controlled by
radiator/zone valves;
HReduction of noise caused by restricted
flow in the system;
HReduction of wear and tear on the
circulation pump by controlling
differential pressure.
Installation
For proper initial settings:
1.Close all radiator/zone valves or mixing
valves.
2.Loosen hex setting nut.
3.Turning the pressure by-pass setting
dial to the right raises the set pressure;
turningitleftlowersthesetpressure.
4.Turn pressure by-pass setting dial to
the required pressure setting.
5.Tighten hex setting nut to lock setting
dial; open all radiator/zone valves or
mixing valves.

Insulating Shell Attachment
IMPORTANT
When Divicon is shipped fully assembled
including the insulation, the complete
insulation must be removed and all unions
and threaded connections must be verified
for tightness with water pressure not
exceeding 30 psig/2 bar with water
temperature at room temperature.
1. Snap-lock insulation shells and
over boiler connection fittings.
2. Depending on the mounting configuration
of the station, the indicated markings
must be carefully cut out of the insulation
shells and using a utility knife.
3. Depending on the pump model, the right
or left segment must be cut out using
a utility knife.
4. Where a pressure by-pass valve has been
installed:
The upper piece of the rear insulation shell
must be trimmed based on marking
and a circular cut made for the connections
of the pressure by-pass valve.
5. Install insulation shells and . Front
shell should glide over pump (feed power
connection cable for pump through front
shell first), and both shells should
snap-lock together.
6. Mount red handle on the supply valve,
marked “YV”.
7. Mount blue handle on the return
valve, marked BR”.
8. Attach mixing valve motor.
Never manually force the mixing valve
motor drive shaft to move. This will
damage the internal gears and motor
drive.

Boiler Piping
Vitola 200 - Divicon quick-connect piping for low temperature applications
The Divicon is designed to
“quick-connect” to the Vitola 200 (VB2
series) hot water heating boiler. As such,
no special fittings or piping need to be
field supplied. Please note that on the
Vitola 200 boiler, the Divicon may be
left- or right-hand mounted. See
“Important” note below.
The Divicon itself is shown in left-hand
mount configuration in diagram below.

IMPORTANT
When connecting the Divicon, do not
use the boiler NPT adaptors that are
supplied with the Vitola 200. These
can damage the Divicon gasket
material, resulting in leaks.

Boiler Piping
Vitorond 200 - Divicon quick-connect piping for low temperature applications
The Divicon is designed to
“quick-connect” to the Vitorond 200
boiler (up to VR2-33). A Divicon adaptor
is required to connect the Divicon station
to the Vitorond boiler.
No other product specific fittings or
piping need to be field supplied.

The Divicon cannot be mounted directly
onto the Vitogas 100, GS10 boiler.
Use a hex bushing (see following page) to
mount Divicon remotely.

Piping Accessories
For a 90° offset mount of the Divicon,
Viessmann offers insulated 90° elbows.
When the Divicon is used on a Vitogas 100,
GS1 boiler, a supply/return tee kit is
required for additional high temperature
and/or DHW heating circuits.
Use a special hex bushing (1½” x 1¼”) to
mount the Divicon mixing valve station
remotely on a Vitogas 100, GS10 boiler.
Initial Fill of the Heating System
Before filling the hot water heating system,
turn screw so the slot is aligned
vertically with the arrow above it .This
places the spring-loaded valve in the open
position and allows any trapped air to
escape. When system is filled and ready to
operate, turn set screw with slot back into
horizontal position for proper operation.
The supply line must contain the ball valve
with integrated flow check valve.

Divicon Wiring
Routing of wires
All prefabricated wiring may be attached
to water pipes with cable ties, provided
piping is insulated with at least 1”/25
mm thick premolded mineral wool or
closed cell foam insulation.
If water piping is not insulated, a
minimum of 2”/50 mm air space must be
maintained between uninsulated pipe and
all wiring.
A minimum air space of 6”/150 mm must
be maintained between wiring, vent pipe,
and the chimney at all times. A minimum
of 2”/50 mm air space must be
maintained to all outside surfaces of a
draft hood.
All wiring shall be routed in such a
fashion that all stated clearances are
maintained to any other hot surfaces or
appliances.
All wiring shall be secured with the strain
relief cable clamps shipped with the
pump control module, at a distance no
farther than 12”/300 mm away from
pre-wired plug-in control module (see Fig.
17).
Provide a dedicated wall receptacle 115
VAC to plug-in power/pump control
module with separate on/off switch for
easy power interruption when system
service is required (see Figs. 17 and 18).
No factory wiring must be extended in
the field.
Mounting of power/pump control module
Mount only on ceiling or wall of boiler
room. When installed on wall, clearance
to floor should be a minimum of 4 ft/122
cm. Be advised that the cable from the
Vitotronic to the power/pump control
module is 20 ft/6 m long.
Power/pump control module must be
mounted with at least 2 screws, of
proper size and strength, to support the
weight of the unit. The wall or ceiling
must have adequate backing. Do not
mount module with nails. Do not mount
module to any surface exceeding room
temperature. Ensure minimum clearance
of 1 ft/300 mm from module to any vent
pipe or draft hood surface. Ensure proper
service access.

Wiring prefab plug-in system for Vitotronic 200
IMPORTANT
All wires must be strain-relieved. For this
purpose every Power Pump Module wire is
supplied with a loosely mounted box
connector and a metal nut. Break the
breakouts at the back of the power pump
module and insert the box connector.
Tighten using the metal nut.
IMPORTANT
If low water cut-off device is used, remove
factory installed jumper from terminals L,
P1 and P2.

IMPORTANT

Divicon Wiring
#2 Strap-on sensor
The 2strap-on sensor is utilized as a
supply sensor.
When used in conjunction with the Divicon
preassembled mixing valve station, it is
mounted on the supply pipe extension at
the factory. The 2strap-on sensor is
always situated after the heating pump
(note flow direction). Place strap-on sensor
1 to 1.5 m after the mixing valve.
Ensure the sensor is never covered with
insulation.
For Vitotronic 200 control, connect 2
strap-on sensor plug to counter connection
in the back of the Vitotronic 200 control.
For Vitotronic 300 control, connect 2
strap-on sensor plug to counter connection
on the Vitotronic 300 mixing valve motor.

separate instructions of strap-on sensor and
Vitotronic control.

Divicon Circulating Pump
The Divicon is factory equipped with a
Grundfos circulating pump, model
VIUPS-62, 115 V, 60Hz with 3-speed
selector switch.
IMPORTANT
The pump head cannot be exchanged with
any other model. This is a Viessmann
specific pump for the Divicon station.
Replacement parts for the circulating pump
must be ordered as per the Divicon Parts
List from Viessmann.
Additional Pre-wired Pump Selection
In addition to the Divicon station pump,
the following pre-wired circulating pumps
in any configuration may be selected to
complete the system.
The power/pump control module for the
Vitotronic 200/300 controls has a plug-in
connection strip for pre-wired circulating
pumps, as well as a screwed-in
connection strip for field supplied pumps.
Power/Pump module connection plugs are
not sold separately.

Domestic hot water heating circuit
For the domestic hot water heating
circuit, any of the (optional) pre-wired
Grundfos circulation pumps listed to the
left may be utilized.
Select ONE circulation pump (if
applicable).
Auxiliary pump switching module
(accessory)
For operation of a high-temperature
pump, or a DHW production pump larger
than those listed to the left, an auxiliary
pump switching module is available. Field
supplied 120/230 pumps up to 10A can
be connected to this module and plugged
into the Divicon pump module.
Circulating pump piping
It is recommended that each pre-wired
high-temperature heating circuit pump
and/or domestic hot water heating pump
assembly listed be installed with one flow
check valve and two 1¼” ball valves.

Preparation and Start-up
Before reattachment of insulation shell
and pressure test, ensure that all ball
valves are open.
Before any of the closed-cell foam
insulation shell is reattached, a water
pressure test as previously described on
page 10 must be performed and tightness
verified including all unions.
Before reattachment of insulation shell
adjust the proper pump speed (1, 2, 3).
On initial start-up, verify pump operation,

closed position), correct mixing valve
motor (actuator) rotation, and
functionality of temperature gages.
This can be done using the relay test
function of the Vitotronic 200 or 300
control.

Operation and Service
Before any attempt is made to work on
any component of the system, turn main
power supply off including fuel supply to
the unit.
The functions (pump and mixing valve) of
the Divicon station are controlled by the
Vitotronic digital indoor/outdoor control.
For heating curve adjustment for the
mixing valve, please see Vitotronic
Installation Instructions.
In case of a defective mixing valve
motor, the motor drive catch can be
manually unclipped from the mixing valve
lever and operated (set) by hand for
temporary operation - never set manually
for full discharge (Position No. 10) of hot
water into low temperature heating
system. Normal setting should not
exceed Position No. 6 on mixing valve
scale. Call a heating contractor
immediately to replace mixing valve
motor and verify settings.
During the annual service inspection, the
insulation shell of the Divicon station
should be loosened (or removed) and all
connections within checked for tightness.
The condition of all factory wiring and
quick-connect plugs should be checked.
Ensure all male and female plugs are
snapped together properly.
