A dark, towering shadow, Darth Vader emerges from
a cloud of blaster smoke in Star Wars: A New Hope.
This is a terrifying force of evil. His helmet epitomises
his transformation from Jedi to the dark side – and his
redemption when he lets Luke Skywalker detach it.
Years later, it serves as a cherished, albeit gravely
damaged, relic for his grandson, Kylo Ren. Is it any
wonder it’s one of our favourites?
