A surge protector’s function is to absorb energy and protect the devices plugged into it. Accordingly,
they will have a variable and limited product lifecycle. Customers should replace their surge
protectors every two (2) years to ensure they are in the proper working order. In addition, we
advise all customers to observe basic safety guidelines to minimize any potential risk to people or
property. Amongst other safety measures, we encourage our customers to follow precautions
including:
1. Always use surge protectors indoors, in a dry location.
2. Do not exceed the electrical rating of the product.
3. Do not use surge protectors with aquariums or other water-related items.
4. If the surge protector features a power cord:
o Uncoil the cord before use.
o Do not cover the cord with any material.
o Keep children and pets away from the cord.
5. Do not plug a surge protector into an extension cord or daisy chain multiple devices.
