16. Main plug is used as disconnect device and it should remain readily operable during

intended use. In order to disconnect the apparatus completely, the main plug should be

disconnected from the main socket outlet completely.

17. Battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.

18. The marking information is located at the back of the apparatus.

19. The Caution Marking is located at the back of the apparatus.

PROTECT YOUR FURNITURE!!

This system is equipped with non-skid rubber ‘feet’ to prevent the product from moving when you

operate the controls. These ‘feet’ are made from non-migrating rubber material specially formulated

to avoid leaving any marks or stains on your furniture. However certain types of oil based furniture

polishes, wood preservatives, or cleaning sprays may cause the rubber ‘feet’ to soften, and leave

marks or a rubber residue on the furniture. To prevent any damage to your furniture we strongly

recommend that you purchase small self-adhesive felt pads, available at hardware stores and home

improvement centers everywhere, and apply these pads to the bottom of the rubber ‘feet’ before you

place the product on fine wooden furniture.

IMPORTANT NOTES

 Avoid installing this unit in places exposed to direct sunlight or close to heat radiating appliance

such as electric heaters, on top of other stereo equipment that radiates too much heat, places

lacking ventilation or dusty areas, places subject to constant vibration and / or humid or moist

areas.

 Do not attempt to clean this unit with chemical solvents as this might damage the finish. Use a

clean dry cloth.

 Operate controls and switches as described in the manual.

 Before turning on the power, make certain that the power cord is properly installed.

 When moving the set, be sure to first disconnect the AC power cord.

SPEAKER TERMINALS

Connect EXTERNAL SPEAKERS (NOT INCLUDED) to the SPEAKER TERMINALS (9) located on

the rear of the unit (RED WIRE TO RED TERMINAL, BLACK WIRE TO BLACK TERMINAL).

Notes:

 Make sure that the INTERNAL SPEAKER Switch (11) is in “ON” position if external speakers are

not connected.

 This unit should not be connected to speakers with an impedance of less than 8 ohms, otherwise

damage may result to the unit.

HEADPHONE JACK (PHONES)

This unit will accept stereo headphones (not included) with a 1/8” plug and an impedance of 32 ohms

or greater. The speakers are automatically disconnected when headphones are connected to the

HEADPHONE JACK (2).

TUNER OPERATION

1. Turn on the unit by pressing the POWER BUTTON (3), the POWER INDICATOR (4) lights.

2. Select the desired band (AM/FM/FM ST.) with the FUNCTION SELECTOR (5).

3. Tune in your desired station using the TUNING KNOB (7). If the FM ST. band was chosen, the

FM STEREO INDICATOR (6) will light up whenever a stereo broadcast is received. To receive a

weak (noisy) FM station, select FM band by setting the FUNCTION SELECTOR (5) to the FM

position .The FM STEREO indicator(6) will go off and the reception may be improved, but the

sound is now monaural (MONO).

4. Adjust the VOLUME CONTROL (1) to the desired sound level.

5. To turn the unit off, press the POWER BUTTON (3) again, The POWER INDICATOR (4) goes

off.

HINTS FOR BEST RECEPTION

FM: The receiver has a built-in FM ANTENNA (8) hanging from the rear cabinet. This wire should

be completely unraveled and extended for best reception.

AM: This unit is equipped with a built-in directional ferrite antenna. Rotate the unit to obtain the best

reception.

PHONO OPERATION

Note:

Flip-up the clear stylus protector to expose the needle. Be sure that the TONE

ARM is detached from the TONE ARM REST (13) before operating.

1. Turn on the unit with the POWER BUTTON (3). The POWER

INDICATOR (4) will light up.

2. Set the FUNCTION SELECTOR (5) to the PHONO position.

3. Set the SPEED SELECTOR (14) to the proper position depending on the record to be played.

Three speeds (33 rpm, 45 rpm, 78 rpm) can be selected. When 45 rpm is selected, use the 45

rpm ADAPTOR (15).

4. Place the record on the platter (if required, use the 45 rpm adaptor)

5. Lift the TONE ARM (12) from the REST (13) and the platter will begin to rotate as you move it

towards the record.

6. Place the needle of the TONE ARM (12) on the record at the desired position.

7. Adjust the VOLUME CONTROL (1) to the desired sound level.

8. At the end of the record, the platter will continue to rotate until the TONE ARM (12) is returned to

the REST (13).

Note: The turntable platter will not automatically stop when the record finishes playing. This is to

allow extended play records to play all the way through without prematurely stopping before the

TONE ARM(12) reaches the end of the record (center area).Don't allow the record to continue

turning for extended periods of time once the TONE ARM (12) reaches the center of the record.

This could prematurely wear out the stylus needle.

9. Stop the Turntable by pressing the POWER BUTTON (3). Lift the TONE ARM (12) and return it

to the REST (13).

IMPORTANT:

Do not turn or stop the Turntable platter manually. Moving or jarring the Turntable platter without

securing the Tone Arm Clamp could result in damage to the Tone Arm or Stylus.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Power Button

After using the unit, switch off the power by releasing the POWER BUTTON.

Cleaning the Unit

To clean, simply wipe with soft clean damp (never wet) cloth. Never use solvents or abrasive

cleaners.

Stylus (needle) Replacement

Replace a worn stylus by following the directions below:

1. Raise the TONE ARM.

2. To remove the old stylus needle, pull out the stylus assembly

in the direction shown, holding the head shell with your other

hand.

3. Then install the new stylus needle by pushing it gently into the

cartridge (hold by the edge to prevent damage to the stylus)

until it clicks into place.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Power button on (pushed in), but no power

 Check power to wall plug.

 Check AC cord connection to wall plug.

Power Indicator is on, but no sound from speaker

 Check FUNCTION selector.

 Check VOLUME setting.

 Make sure headphones are not plugged in.

Poor FM reception

 Untie and fully extend the FM wire antenna for best reception.

thereof, except batteries, when it is returned to the SPECTRA Service Department, accompanied by

proof of the date of original consumer purchase, such as a duplicate copy of a sales receipt.

You must pay all shipping charges required to ship the product to SPECTRA for warranty service. If

the product is repaired or replaced under warranty, the return charges will be at SPECTRA’s expense.

There are no other express warranties other than those stated herein.

NOTAS IMPORTANTES

 Evite instalar la unidad en lugares expuestos a la luz solar directa o cerca de dispositivos que emitan calor,

tales como calentadores eléctricos, sobre otros equipos de audio que emitan mucho calor, lugares sin

ventilación o expuestos al polvo, ni en lugares sujetos a vibraciones constantes y/o con humedad.

 No intente limpiar la unidad con solventes químicos ya que esto podría dañar la superficie. Use un paño

limpio y seco.

 Maneje los controles e interruptores tal como se describe en el manual.

 Antes de encenderlo, asegúrese de que el cable de suministro eléctrico esté correctamente instalado.

 Al mover el equipo, asegúrese de desconectar primero el cable de suministro de CA.

CONEXIONES

TERMINAL DE PARLANTES

Conecte los PARLANTES EXTERNOS (NO INCLUIDOS) a los TERMINALES DE LOS PARLANTES (9),

ubicados en la parte trasera de la unidad (CABLE ROJO A TERMINAL ROJO, CABLE NEGRO A TERMINAL

NEGRO).

Nota:

 Asegúrese de que el interruptor del PARLANTE INTERNO (11) esté en laposición “ON” (encendido) si los

parlantes externos no están conectados.

 Esta unidad no debe ser conectada a parlantes con una impedancia de menos de 8 ohms, de lo contrario

la unidad podría dañarse.

ORIFICIO PARA AURICULAR

Esta unidad acepta auriculares estéreo (no incluidos) con una clavija de 1/8" e impedancia de 32 ohms o más.

Los parlantes se desconectan automáticamente cuando se conectan los auriculares en el orificio del equipo.

FUNCIONAMIENTO DE LA RADIO

1. Encienda la unidad presionando el BOTÓN DE ENCENDIDO (POWER) (3), se enciende el INDICADOR

DE ENCENDIDO (4).

2. Seleccione la banda deseada (AM/FM/FM ST.) con el CONTROL DE FUNCIÓN (FUNCTION) (5).

3. Sintonice la estación deseada usando la perilla de SINTONIZACIÓN (TUNING) (7). Si eligió la banda

FM ST., se encenderá el INDICADOR DE FM STEREO (6) cuando reciba una señal en estéreo. Para

escuchar una estación FM débil (con ruido), seleccione la banda FM posicionando la CONTROL DE

FUNCIÓN (5) en la posición FM. El INDICADOR FM STEREO (6) se apagará y puede mejorar la

recepción, pero el sonido ahora es monoaural (MONO).

4. Ajuste el CONTROL DE VOLUMEN (VOLUME) (1) al nivel de sonido deseado.

5. Para apagar la unidad, vuelva a presionar el botón de ENCENDIDO (3), el INDICADOR DE ENCENDIDO

(4) se apaga.

SUGERENCIAS PARA UNA BUENA SEÑAL

FM: El receptor tiene una antena FM INTERNA (8) que sale del gabinete trasero. Debe desenrollar y

extender este cable por completo para lograr una mejor recepción de la señal.

AM: La unidad está equipada con una antena interna de ferrita direccional. Gire la unidad para lograr una

mejor recepción de la señal.

FUNCIONAMIENTO DE LA BANDEJA GIRADISCOS

Nota:

Retire el protector de la aguja reproductora.

Asegúrese de que el brazo de lectura esté separado del SOPORTE (13) antes de

hacerlo funcionar.

1. Encienda la unidad con el BOTÓN DE ENCENDIDO (3). Se encenderá el

INDICADOR DE ENCENDIDO (4).

2. Fije el SELECTOR DE FUNCIÓN (5) en la posición PHONO.

3. Fije el SELECTOR DE VELOCIDAD (14) en la posición adecuada según el disco a reproducir. Puede

seleccionar tres velocidades (33 rpm, 45 rpm, 78 rpm); cuando seleccione 45 RPM UTILICE EL

ADAPTADOR (15) de 45 rpm.

4. Ubique el disco en la bandeja (si es necesario, use el adaptador de 45 rpm).

5. Levante el BRAZO REPRODUCTOR (12) del SOPORTE (13), y la bandeja comenzará a girar cuando lo

mueva hacia el disco.

6. Ubique la aguja del BRAZO REPRODUCTOR (12) en el disco en la posición deseada.

7. Ajuste el CONTROL DE VOLUMEN (1) al nivel de sonido deseado.

8. Al finalizar el disco, la bandeja continuará girando hasta que ubique el BRAZO REPRODUCTOR (12) en

el SOPORTE (13).

Nota:

La bandeja giradiscos no se detendrá automáticamente al finalizar la reproducción del disco. Esto es para

permitir la reproducción de discos de larga duración durante todo el recorrido sin que se detenga antes de

tiempo, es decir, antes de que el brazo reproductor llegue al final del disco (área central). No deje que el

disco continúe girando durante mucho tiempo una vez que el BRAZO REPRODUCTOR (12) llegue al

centro del disco. Esto podría desgastar la aguja antes de tiempo.

9. Detenga la bandeja presionando el BOTÓN DE ENCENDIDO (3). Levante el BRAZO REPRODUCTOR

(12) y ubíquelo nuevamente en el SOPORTE (13).

IMPORTANTE:

No haga girar ni detener la bandeja giradiscos manualmente. El movimiento o vibración de la bandeja

giradiscos sin asegurar la abrazadera del brazo reproductor puede provocar daños en el brazo reproductor o

la aguja.

CUIDADOS Y MANTENIMIENTO

Botón de Encendido

Luego de usar la unidad, apague la alimentación eléctrica liberando el botón de ENCENDIDO.

Limpieza de la Unidad

Límpiela simplemente con un paño suave, limpio y levemente húmedo (nunca mojado). Nunca utilice

solventes ni limpiadores abrasivos.

Cambio de la Aguja

Reemplace la aguja desgastada siguiendo las indicaciones a continuación.

1. Levante el Brazo Reproductor

2. Para retirar la aguja usada, retire el montaje de la aguja en la dirección

que se indica, sosteniendo el cabezal con la otra mano.

3. Luego instale la nueva aguja presionando suavemente en la cápsula

(sostenga por el borde para evitar dañar la aguja) hasta que al ubicarla

se escuche un clic.

RESOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS

El botón de Encendido está presionado, pero no enciende

 Controle la toma de alimentación de la pared.

 Controle la conexión del cable de CA a la toma de la pared.

El indicador de Encendido está prendido, pero el parlante no emite sonido

 Controle el selector de FUNCIÓN.

 Controle el VOLUMEN

 Asegúrese de que no haya auriculares conectados

Recepción débil de FM

 Desenrolle y extienda por completo el cable de antena FM para una mejor recepción.
