Anyenginetransversebarthatappearstobedamagedinanyway,iswornoroperatesabnormallyshallberemoved

from service immediately.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTION FOR MODEL 44700

(refer to Figure 2)

1.Insertthewideleg(#13)intotubeweldedattheendofboom(#1)andthenarrowleg(#14)toboomextension(#2).

2.Slidetransferadapter(#11)overtheendofboomextension(#2)withtubetowardyou.

3.Inserttheboomextension(#2)intoboom(#1).

NOTE: TheEngineTransverseBarmaybeusedwithorwithoutsupportarm,dependingontheloadbeingsupported.

4. To use without support arm:Secureboththreadedhooks(#3)tothetubeweldedonboomandtransferadapter

withbarrelhex.nut(#7).Threadthehex.nut(#7)allthewaydowntowardsthehookportiontoholditoutofthe

way until needed.

5. To use with support arm:

(a)Inserttheadjustableleg(#6)tosupportarm(#10),thenhandtightwithM8x65boltandwingnut(#9&8).Do

notfullytightenwingnutasheightadjustmentmaybenecessaryoncetheEngineTransverseBarisplaced

over the engine compartment of the vehicle.

(b)Afterdeterminingthelengthofsupportarmneeded,Connectthesupportarm(#10)totransferadapter(#11)

ontheboomextensionwithM12x120boltandwingnut(#5&4).Again,donotfullytightenassomelength

adjustment may be required.

(c)BeforeplacingtheEngineTransverseBarovertheenginecompartment,installthetwothreadedhooks(#3)

provided.Insertonehooktothetubeweldedonboom(#1)andsecurewithbarrelhex.nut(#7).Threadthe

hex.nut(#7)allthewaydowntowardsthehookportiontoholditoutofthewayuntilneeded.Then,locate

the best position on the support arm for the second hook and install in the same manner.

6.NowtheEngineTransverseBarisreadytouse.

MAINTENANCE

PeriodicallyinspecttheEngineTransverseBar.Ensure

allpartsmovefreely.Tohelppreventrust,wipeclean

and/orblowdryaftereachuse.Ifrustappears,sand

affected area and cover with suitable utility paint. Store

theEngineTransverseBarinaclean,dryarea.

OPERATION

1. Determine the location of the two engine support

bolts on your vehicle. Then place the Engine

transverse bar directly over these two bolts.

2.Adjusttheboomextension(#2)toensurethatboth

legs(#13&14)aresittinginsidethefenderofthe

engine compartment.

If the inside fender lips are more than 61" apart,

the Engine Transverse Bar must not be used. Do

not exceed the designated marking (61"). Over-extending

could cause the Engine Support Bar to collapse, resulting

in personal injury or property damage.

3.Adjusttoensurethesupportarm(#10)isincorrect

position.Therubbertipoftheadjustableleg(#6)

shouldbeonaat,reinforcedsurfacecapableof

supporting the weight of engine. Tighten both wing

nuts(#4&8)tosecuretheadjustableleg(#6)and

supportarm(#10).

4.Lower thethreaded hooks(#3) toappropriate

position. Ensure that the hooks are directly over

the engine support bolts or brackets; therefore the

engine does not swing when vehicle is disassembled.

5. Attach the looped ends of the two 1/8" braided

steelcables (#12)tothe enginesupportbolts on

the engine and loop middle of braided cables over

hooks. If the engine being supported is equipped with

engineliftbrackets,hookthehooks(#3)directlyinto

engine lift brackets for extra protection.

Note:UseonlyfastenersratedGrade5orhigheras

engine support bolts.

6.Tightenthebarrelhex.nuts(#7)onbothhooksuntil

cables are snug or hex. nuts are tight against support

bar.

7. Double check that engine is properly supported

before disassemble the vehicle.

4. Pourutiliserlabarresansbrasdesupport:Fixezlesdeuxcrochetsletés(3)àl'adaptateuretautubesoudé

surlaècheavecdesécroushexagonauxàportéecylindrique(7).Vissezl'écrouhexagonal(7)demanièreàle

rapprocherlepluspossibledelapartiecourbéeducrochetpourqu'ilnenuisepasàvosmouvementsjusqu'àce

que vous en ayez besoin.

5. Pourutiliserlabarreaveclebrasdesupport:

 (a)Insérezlapatteajustable(6)danslebrasdesupport(10),puisserrez-lesàlamainavecunboulonM8x65mm

etunécrouàoreilles(8et9).Neserrezpascomplètementl'écroupuisqu'ilpourraitêtrenécessaired'ajuster

la hauteur une fois la barre transversale de support de moteur placée au-dessus du compartiment moteur du

véhicule.

 (b)Aprèsavoirdéterminélalongueurdebrasdesupportdontvousavezbesoin,xezlebrasdesupport(10)

àl'adaptateur(11)surlarallongetélescopiquedelaècheàl'aided'unboulonM12x120mmetd'unécrou

àoreilles(4et5).Unefoisdeplus,nefaitespasleserragenal,puisqu'ilserapeut-êtrenécessaired'ajuster

la longueur.

 (c)Avantdeplacerlabarreau-dessusducompartimentmoteur,installezlesdeuxcrochetsletés(3)fournis.Insérez

ENTRETIEN

Inspectez périodiquement la barre transversale de support

de moteur. Assurez-vous que toutes les pièces bougent

librement.Pourprévenirlarouille,nettoyezlabarrejusqu'à

cequ'ellesoitpropreetfaiteslasécheràl'airchaudaprès

chaqueutilisation.Sidelarouilleapparaît,sablezlapartie

où elle se trouve et couvrez la avec une peinture adéquate.

Rangezlabarredansunendroitpropreetsec.

PIÈCES DE RECHANGE

Ce ne sont pas toutes les pièces de la barre

transversalede supportdemoteur qui peuventêtre

remplacées,maisellessontillustréespourmontrerleur

emplacement ainsi que leur position pour l'assemblage.

FONCTIONNEMENT

Déterminez l'endroit où se trouvent les deux boulons

desupportdumoteurdevotrevéhicule.Placezensuite

la barre directement au-dessus de ces deux boulons.

Ajustezlarallongetélescopiquedelaèche(2)pour

vousassurerquelesdeuxpattes(13et14)setrouvent

àl'intérieurdesailesducompartimentmoteur.

Si la distance entre les rebords intérieurs des ailes

dépasse 154,94 cm (61 po), la barre ne doit

pas être utilisée. Ne dépassez pas la marque indiquée

(154,94 cm [61 po]). Si cette valeur est dépassée, cela

pourrait briser la barre de support de moteur, ce qui

entraînerait des blessures et des dommages matériels.

Faiteslesajustementsnécessairespourvousassurer

quelebrasdesupport(10)estàlabonneposition.

L'extrémité en caoutchouc de la patte ajustable

(6)devraitsetrouversurunesurfaceplaterenforcée

qui est capable de supporter le poids du moteur.

Serrezlesdeuxécrousàoreilles(4et8)pourxer

lapatteajustable(6)etlebrasdesupport(10).

4.Faitesdescendrelescrochetsletés(3)àlaposition

appropriée. Assurez-vous que les crochets sont situés

directement au-dessus des ferrures ou des boulons

desupportdumoteur.Decettefaçon,lemoteurne

se balancera pas lorsque le véhicule sera démonté.

Fixezles boucles desextrémitésdes deux câbles

tressésenacierde3,2mm(1/8po)(12)auxboulons

desupportdumoteuretpassezlemilieudescâbles

autour des crochets. Si le moteur supporté est doté de

ferruresdelevage,xezlescrochets(3)directement

sur celles ci pour augmenter la sécurité.

Remarque : Les boulons de support du moteur doivent

êtredesxationsdeclasse5ouplus.

6.Serrezlesécroushexagonauxàportéecylindrique(7)

desdeuxcrochetsjusqu'àcequelescâblessoient

bien serrés ou que les écrous soient bien serrés sur

la barre.

INSTRUCCIONES PARA LA INSTALACIÓN DEL MODELO 44700

1.Insertelapataancha(N.º13)eneltubosoldadoqueseencuentraenelextremodelapluma(N.º1)ylapata

angosta(N.º14),enlaextensióndelapluma(N.º2).

2.Desliceeladaptadordetransferencia(N.º11)sobreelextremodelaextensióndelapluma(N.º2)coneltubo

dirigido hacia usted.

3.Insertelaextensióndelapluma(N.º2)enlapluma(N.º1).

NOTA: Labarratransversaldemotorsepuedeutilizarconosinbrazodesoporte,segúnlacargaquesesostenga.

4. Parautilizarlasinbrazodesoporte:Fijeambosganchosroscados(N.º3)altuboqueestásoldadoalapluma

yaladaptadordetransferenciaconunatuercahexagonaldebarril(N.º7).Enrosquecompletamentelatuerca

hexagonal(N.º7)hacialaporcióndelganchoparaquequedefueradelpasohastaquedebausarse.

5. Parautilizarlaconbrazodesoporte:

 (a)Insertelapataajustable(N.º6)enelbrazodesoporte(N.º10).Luego,ajústelaamanoconunpernoM8x65

yunatuercamariposa(N.º9y8).Noaprietedeltodolatuercamariposa,yaqueesposiblequeseanecesario

ajustar la altura una vez que se coloque la barra transversal de motor sobre el compartimiento del motor

delvehículo.

 (b)Despuésdedeterminarlalongitudnecesariadelbrazodesoporte,conecteelbrazodesoporte(N.º10)al

adaptadordetransferencia(N.º11)enlaextensióndelaplumaconunpernoM12x120yunatuercamariposa

(N.º5y4).Nuevamente,nolaaprietedeltodo,yaqueesposiblequehayaqueajustarlaaltura.

 (c)Antesdecolocarlabarratransversaldemotorsobreelcompartimientodelmotor,instalelosdosganchos

roscados(N.º3)provistos.Inserteunganchoeneltuboqueestásoldadoalapluma(N.º1)yfíjeloconuna

tuercahexagonaldebarril(N.º7).Enrosquecompletamentelatuercahexagonal(N.º7)hacialaporcióndel

ganchoparaquequedefueradelpasohastaquedebausarse.Luego,ubiquelamejorposiciónenelbrazo

desoporteparacolocarelsegundoganchoeinstálelodelamismaforma.

6.Ahoralabarratransversaldemotorestálistaparausarse.

MANTENIMIENTO

Inspeccione la barra transversal de motor

periódicamente.Asegúresedequetodaslaspiezas

se muevan libremente. Para ayudar a evitar la

corrosión,limpieysequelaspiezasdespuésdecada

uso.Siapareceóxido,lijeeláreaafectadaycúbrala

con pintura utilitaria adecuada. Almacene la barra

transversal de motor en un lugar limpio y seco.

PIEZAS DE REPUESTO

(consulte las guras 2 y 3).

No todos los componentes de la barra transversal

de motor tienen reemplazo, pero se ilustran a

modo de referencia práctica de la ubicación y la

posiciónqueocupanenlasecuenciadelensamblaje.

Determinelaubicacióndelosdospernosdesoportedel

motorenelvehículo.Luego,coloquelabarratransversal

de motor directamente sobre estos dos pernos.

2.Ajustelaextensióndelapluma(N.º2)paragarantizar

que ambas patas (N.º 13 y 14) estén instaladas

dentrodelaproteccióndelcompartimientodelmotor.

Si los bordes internos de la protección están

separados más de 61" (154,94 cm) no se debe

utilizar la barra transversal de motor. No exceda la marca

designada (61" [154,94 cm]). El exceso en la extensión

podría hacer que la barra de soporte de motor se rompa, lo

que ocasionaría lesiones personales o daños a la propiedad.

Ajusteparagarantizarqueelbrazodesoporte(N.º10)

estéenlaposicióncorrecta.Lapuntadegomadelapata

ajustable(N.º6)debecolocarsesobreunasupercie

plana y reforzada capaz de soportar el peso del motor.

Aprieteambastuercasmariposa(N.º4y8)parajarla

pataajustable(N.º6)yelbrazodesoporte(N.º10).

4.Bajelosganchosroscados(N.º3)hastalaposición

apropiada.Asegúresede quelos ganchosestén

directamente sobre los pernos de soporte o los

soportesdel motor;deesta manera,elmotor no

girarácuandosedesarmeelvehículo.

5.Conectelos extremos en bucle de los dos cables

deacerotrenzadosde1/8"(3,2mm)(N.º12)alos

pernos de soporte del motor y pase la mitad de

los cables trenzados por los ganchos. Si el motor

quedebesostenerseestáequipadoconsoportes

de elevación del motor, enganche los ganchos

(3)directamenteenlossoportesdeelevacióndel

motorparalograrunaprotecciónadicional.

Nota: Únicamente utilice sujetadores grado 5 o

superior como pernos de soporte del motor.

6.Aprietelastuercashexagonalesdebarril(N.º7)en

ambosganchoshastaqueloscablesquedenrmes

o las tuercas hexagonales estén bien ajustadas

contra la barra de soporte.

7.Veriquenuevamentequeelmotorcuenteconel

soporteadecuadoantesdedesarmarelvehículo.
