Removethebatterypackfromthepowerhandleor
disconnectfrompowersupply.
Placetheheadonthepowerhandleandpushuntilthe
latchesclickintoposition.Pullontheheadtomake
sureitissecurelyinstalledbeforeproceeding.
NOTE: Theheadcanbeinstalledat90°anglestobest
suityourapplicationneeds.
KEYLESS CHUCK

Thedrillheadhasakeylesschucktotightenorreleasedrill
bitsinthechuckjaws.Thearrowsonthechuckindicate
whichdirectiontorotatethechuckbodyinorderto LOCK
(tighten)orUNLOCK(release)thedrillbit.
WARNING:
Donotholdthechuckbodywithonehandand
usethepowerofthetooltotightenthechuck
jaws on the drill bit. The chuck body could
slipinyourhand,oryourhandcouldslipand
comeincontactwiththerotatingdrillbit.This
couldcauseanaccidentresultinginserious
personalinjury.

Removethebatterypackfromthepowerhandleor
disconnectfrompowersupply.
Openorclosethe chuck jawsto apoint wherethe
openingisslightlylargerthanthebitsizeyouintend
touse.Also,raisethefrontofthedrillslightlytokeep
thebitfromfallingoutofthechuckjaws.
Insertthedrillbit.
WARNING:
Makesuretoinsertthedrillbitstraightintothe
chuckjaws.Donotinsertthedrillbitintothe
chuckjawsatananglethentighten,asshown
infigure3.Thiscouldcausethedrillbittobe
thrownfromthedrill,resultinginpossibleseri-
ouspersonalinjuryordamagetothechuck.
Tightenthechuckjawssecurelyonthebit.
NOTE: Rotatethechuckbodyinthedirectionofthe
arrowmarkedLOCKtoclosethechuckjaws.Donot
useawrenchtotightenorloosenthechuckjaws.

disconnectfrompowersupply.
Openthechuckjaws.
NOTE: Rotatethechuckbodyinthedirectionofthe
arrowmarkedUNLOCKtoopenthechuckjaws.Do
notuseawrenchtotightenorloosenthechuckjaws.
Removethedrillbit.

Checkthedirectionofrotationselectorforthecorrect
setting(forwardorreverse).
Securethematerialtobedrilledinaviseorwithclamps
tokeepitfromturningasthedrillbitrotates.
Holdthedrillfirmlyandplacethebitatthepointtobe
drilled.
Depresstheswitchtriggertostartthedrill.
Move thedrill bitinto the workpiece,applying only
enoughpressuretokeepthebitcutting.Donotforce
thedrillorapplysidepressuretoelongateahole.Let
thetooldothework.
WARNING:
Bepreparedforbindingatbitbreakthrough.
When these situations occur, drill has a
tendency to grab and kick opposite to the
directionofrotationandcouldcauselossof
control when breaking through material. If
notprepared,thislossofcontrolcanresultin
possibleseriousinjury.
When drilling hard, smooth surfaces, use a center
punch to mark the desired hole location. This will
preventthedrillbitfromslippingoff-centerasthehole
isstarted.
Whendrillingmetals,usealightoilonthedrillbitto
keepitfromoverheating.Theoilwillprolongthelife
ofthebitandincreasethedrillingaction.
If thebit jams inthe workpiece or if the drill stalls,
stopthe toolimmediately.Remove the bitfromthe
workpieceanddeterminethereasonforjamming.
NOTE:Thistoolhasanelectricbrake.Whentheswitch
trigger is released, the chuck stops turning. When the
brakeisfunctioningproperly,sparkswillbevisiblethrough
theventslotsonthehousing.Thisisnormalandisthe
actionofthebrake.

asthedrillbitbitesintothematerial.
Whendrillingthroughholes,placea block ofwood
behindtheworkpiecetopreventraggedorsplintered
edgesonthebacksideofthehole.
METAL DRILLING
Formaximumperformance,usehighspeedsteelbitsfor
metalorsteeldrilling.
Begindrillingataverylowspeedtopreventthebit
fromslippingoffthestartingpoint.
Maintainaspeedandpressurewhichallowscutting
withoutoverheatingthebit.Applyingtoomuchpres-
surewill:
•Overheatthedrill;
•Wearthebearings;
•Bendorburnbits;and
•Produceoff-centerorirregular-shapedholes.
Whendrillinglargeholesinmetal,startwithasmall
bit,thenfinishwithalargerbit.Also,lubricatethebit
withoiltoimprovedrillingactionandincreasebitlife.

INSTALLATION DE LA TÊTE

Retirer le bloc-piles de la poignée motorisée ou
débrancher la poignée motoriséede l’alimentation
électrique.
Placer la tête sur la poignée motorisée et appuyer
jusqu’à ce que les loquets s’enclenchent en place.
Tirer sur la tête pour s’assurer qu’elle est fixée
solidementavantdecommencerl’opération.
NOTE :Latêtepeutêtreinstalléeàdesanglesde90°
afindes’adapteràl’applicationvisée.

perceusepourempêcherleforetdes’échapperdes
morsdumandrin.
Insérerleforet.

lesmorsdumandrin.Nepasinsérerunforet
dans les mors en serrant comme illustré à
