Star Trac CrossTrainer/TBT Installation Checklist
Use the checklist below to ensure proper installation of Star Trac CrossTrainer/TBTs:
All parts and hardware from packaging are accounted for.
Ensure all screws are tightened and torqued to their specified values.
Ensure that drive belt, generator, and main drive pulley are all aligned with each other and that
mounting hardware (including set screws on pillow blocks and jack screws adjacent to pillow blocks) is
tight.
Verify that there is no noise/knocking/etc coming from the wheels under the pedals during use (be
sure to stand on the pedals while testing for this to ensure that there is user weight on the system).
Pair the correct Console to the unit
Verify upper body arms are properly mounted/secured and move freely along the entire range of
motion. Use a manual screwdriver to place the elbow covers on the CT arms. DO NOT USE A POWER
DRILL
Verify upper neck is properly mounted and secured. Using all four M8 allen bolts with M8 washers. SET
SCREW MUST BE INSTALLED AND TOURQUED TO 8-10LBS-FT. Reference page 8 of the installation
manual.
Make sure the display mounting bracket and back cover are properly mounted and secured.
All cables and harnesses are properly plugged into their respective connectors and are free from pinch
points when securing the console to the back console shroud.
The front and back display plastics/covers are properly installed and secured.
Initialize the display electronics to activate the display software (which will default the unit model to
Bike)
Verify the model setting within the maintenance mode is set to correct model“TBT (NO UB)”
Test the heart rate in the maintenance mode by engaging the “heart rate test” and using the hand
grips and polar strap
Use unit in active program to test resistance and overall movement under load
On E-Series units verify battery voltage to be at least 6.2v by accessing the “Measurements” menu
within the maintenance mode
Adjust the leveling feet to ensure the unit is stable and leveled.
Once powered up, all features of the unit function properly.
Check the fans for proper function
Make sure there is smooth movement while under load without squeaking or thumbing in the pedals.

Assembly & Setup
Overall visual & cosmetic inspection: All equipment is to be wiped down and checked for defects prior to
leaving the facility. Installer is to contact an authorized Core Health & Fitness representative while on site, if
there are any issues that have not been resolved.
