Kogan KASMKTOCHBA is a smart electric kettle with a 1.5L capacity and a variety of features to make boiling water a breeze. With its adjustable temperature settings, you can choose the perfect temperature for your tea, coffee, or other hot beverages.

The kettle also features a keep-warm function that will maintain the water temperature for up to 2 hours, so you can always have hot water on hand. The Kogan KASMKTOCHBA also has safety features such as automatic shut-off when the water boils or if the kettle is lifted off the base.

• CAUTION: Do not operate the power base unless a water-filled kettle is placed upon it.

• Do not use this kettle on unstable surfaces.

• Do not operate the kettle on an inclined plane.

• Do not overfill the kettle. If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be bubble over

SAFETY & WARNINGS

• CAUTION: When opening the lid, keep the steam directed away from the handle.

• Water is the only permitted liquid to be heated in this kettle. Do not place any other

liquid or food product into the kettle.

• The power base supplied with the kettle is designed solely for use with this appliance.

• Do not attempt to use this kettle with any other power base or for any other use.

• The heating element on the power base is subject to residual heat immediately after

use.

• Ensure the kettle is turned off and unplugged before cleaning, maintenance or moving.

• Ensure the kettle is turned off when moving and whenever the kettle is not in use.

• Do not remove the kettle while it is switched on.

• Do not operate the kettle if the amount of water inside is below in the MIN water level

line.

• To prevent damage to the appliance, do not use alkaline cleaning agents. When

cleaning, use a soft cloth and mild detergent.

• WARNING: This kettle contains plasticisers. To prevent plasticisers from migrating to

the finish of a countertop or tabletop, place a non-plastic coaster or placemat between

the kettle and the surface on which the kettle is placed. Failure to do so may result in

permanent blemishes or darkening of the finish.

• The heating element on the power base is subject to residual heat.

Prior to first use, boil a full kettle of water and discard to get rid of any impurities that may

have come from other sources.

1. Press the back end of the lid release button to open the lid of the kettle. Fill the kettle

with water until it reaches at least the MIN water level line (0.5L).

2. Place the kettle on the power base and close the lid.

3. Plug the power base cord into a power socket and switch it on. The unit will emit an

audible sound upon powering on and the display screen will flash, then display the

current water temperature in Celsius (°C).

This kettle features two heating modes: ‘Keep warm’ and ‘Boil’.

OPERATION

BEFORE FIRST USE

Notes:

• If the temperature of the water is already higher than the desired set temperature,

pressing the KEEP WARM button will cause the kettle to maintain the water at

the desired temperature.

• The temperature displayed and actual water temperature may vary ±5°C

Keep warm

The keep warm mode allows users to heat the water to a desired temperature between

40 – 90°C. The kettle will then maintain the water at that temperature for up to 2 hours.

• Set the desired temperature by repeatedly pressing the TEMP button ‘ ’. The display

will cycle through the available temperatures (40-50-60-70-80-90°C). The button will

light up and remain lit until the water is heated to the desired temperature.

• Press the KEEP WARM button ‘ ’. The kettle will heat the water to the desired

temperature. The button light up and remain lit whilst the kettle is in this mode.

• The kettle will emit a sound prompt when heating is finished. It will then maintain the

water temperature.

• When this mode is used in the future, the kettle will default with the temperature set as

the previously desired temperature.

Boil

The boil mode allows users to heat the water to 100°C (boiling point).

• Press the BOIL button. The button will light up and remain lit until the water is boiled.

• The kettle will emit a sound prompt when boiling has finished and enter standby mode.

The water is now ready for use.

• The display will show the temperature of the water and change in real-time as it heats

to boiling point.

Standby mode

In standby mode, the display will become blank if there is no operation within 3 minutes.

• Pressing the power button ‘ ’ whilst the kettle is turned off will switch it to standby

mode. The button will be flashing when the kettle is in standby mode.

• Pressing the power button ‘ ’ whilst the kettle is in standby mode will turn off the

kettle.

• The display will show the current temperature of the water within the kettle in this

mode.

Kettle memory

• If the kettle is lifted off the base and placed back on the base within 30 seconds, any

settings or modes will be consistent with what was previously set.

• If the kettle is not placed within 30 seconds, standby mode will be activated.

Burning protection

If there is very little to no water in the kettle whilst the power base is heating, the kettle will

start burning. A safety thermostat will automatically turn the kettle off if there is insufficient

water. The display will show a prompt and the unit will automatically go into standby for

safety.

To reset, remove the kettle from the power base and allow it to cool before refilling with

water.

Heating time limit

• If the heating time is greater than or equal to 15 minutes, the unit will stop boiling

automatically.

• If the temperature does not rise in more than three minutes during heating, the unit will

automatically turn off.

Note:

Ensure both the power base and the kettle are completely dry after cleaning and

before subsequent use.

Before cleaning, ensure the kettle is unplugged and completely cool.

1. Grasp the handle and remove the kettle from the power base. If necessary, wipe

the inside and outside of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth. Mild detergent may be

used. Wipe dry.

2. Wipe the power base with a damp cloth.

Descaling

Descaling may be necessary if mineral deposits form a scale coating inside the kettle.

These scale deposits may cause an unpleasant flavour in the water and can lengthen

boiling times.

Descaling chemicals can be used. Follow the instructions as listed by their manufacturer.

Ensure the kettle is rinsed clean before continuing use.

Alternatively, white vinegar can be used to descale the kettle.

• Combine 3 cups of white vinegar with 2 cups of clean water.

• Pour this solution into the kettle. Do not boil.

• Leave the solution to soak in the kettle overnight.

• Discard the solution and then rinse the kettle out.

• Re-boil water in the kettle and discard, repeating as necessary to remove all vinegar

odour.

• Repeat as necessary until scale is removed.
