Dit apparaat heeft een garantietermijn van 2 jaar vanaf de datum van aankoop.

La garantie devient caduque si des réparations ont été effectuées par des personnes non

agréées. La garantie ne sera valable que si la date d’achat ainsi que le cachet et la signature

du magasin gurent sur la carte de garantie.

WARRANTY

This appliance has a two year warranty period. During this period the manufacturer is

responsible for any failures which are the direct result of construction failure. When these

failures occur the appliance will be repaired or replaced if necessary. The warranty will

not be valid when the damage to the appliance is caused by wrong use, not following the

instructions or repairs executed by a third party. The warranty will only be valid if the

warranty application has been completed by the dealer at the time of purchase.

CAUTION

This devise is not for use by persons, including children, with any kind of impairment,

such as, physical, sensorial or mental incapacity. These persons are also not permitted

to use the devise if they have limited experience or insufcient knowledge, unless they

have received the necessary instructions for use or are otherwise being supervised by

people ensuring their safety. Make sure that children cannot play with the devise.

Check the appliance after use for possible damage. Never use a damaged device.

Never immerse the appliance or parts of it in water or any other liquid.

Pull the plug from the electric socket when not in use.

Do not touch hot surfaces, use only the handle to lift up the top. Always place the

appliance on a at dry surface. Never use the appliance near a hot gas or electric

burner or where it may come into contact with an electric oven.

Provide adequate ventilation on all sides when using the device.

On heat-sensitive surfaces use an insulated mat.

Do not let the electric lead hang over the table edge or touch hot surfaces.

PREPARE FOR USE

Check the inner cooking plates to make sure

they are clean and free of dust.

Clean them with a damp cloth.

Use indoors only.

If the appliance is switched on, do not leave it unattended.

Grease both sides of the cooking plates lightly.

The red lamp will light up

Before you can start baking, you need to preheat the wafe appliance.

With the wafe-maker closed, this will take about 3 to 5 minutes.

The green light will turn off indicating that the wafe-maker has reached the correct

temperature.

When using the appliance for the rst time there may be a slight smell and light smoke

from the cooking plates.

This is normal.

For hygienic reasons, do not the rst wafers made, throw them away.

BAKING WAFFLES

1. Pour, when the green light goes out, the wafe batter into the middle of the lower

plate. Use a wooden or heatproof plastic spatula to dough to distribute the batter

evenly over the baking plates. Then use the handle to close.

2. The baking time is determined by the position of the dial used for selecting the

degree of browning (light, medium, maximum). For golden wafes it’s best to

turn the dial to “medium” (Middle position).

3. Once the wafe is ready, remove it gently with a wooden or heatproof plastic

spatula to loosen the sides. Never use metal objects, because they can damage

specially coated non-stick surface.

4. If you have nished baking, remove the plug from the socket.

TIPS

“Medium” (Middle position) is the default mode for golden wafes.

If you prefer crispier, darker wafes, turn the dial (1) to the “Max” position (dark).

For those who love lighter wafes, set the dial to the “Low” position (light).

For evenly cooked wafes it’s best to gradually add about half a cup of dough per

wafer.

Baked wafes are best when they have just been cooked, but can also are be kept

warm perfectly in an oven at about 90° C.

Place in a baking tray or wrap them in aluminium foil. In the latter case they will be

less crisp.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Do not use harsh abrasive or corrosive cleaning agents.

Clean the appliance after each use.

Unplug the electric lead and wait until the appliance has cooled sufciently.

It is easier to clean your wafe-maker if it’s a bit warm.

Carefully clean the specially coated metal baking plates with a soft cloth to remove

baking deposits. When not in use, store the appliance on a at dry surface.

RECIPES

Brussels Wafes with ice cream and whipped cream

Ingredients:

• 250 gr our

• 4 eggs

• 1 tablespoon sugar

• 20 gr yeast

• 2 dl water 100 gr melted butter

• 3 dl lukewarm milk

• 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream with whipped cream

Mix the our with the egg yolks and the sugar. Mix the yeast with the lukewarm water

and mix this through the batter. Then mix the lukewarm milk with the melted butter

into the batter. Whisk the egg whites until stiff and carefully fold into the batter. Bake

the wafes and serve with icing sugar, ice cream and whipped cream.

Sugar Wafes from Liège

Ingredients:

• 500 gr our

• 150 ml lukewarm water

• 70 gr sugar

• 2 eggs

• 50 gr fresh yeast

• 215 gr butter

• Salt

• 300 gr pearl sugar

Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water and pour it into part of the our (300 gr).

Add sugar, eggs and 15 gr of butter and stir until homogenous. Sprinkle the rest of

the our over this with a pinch of salt. Lay the rest of the butter on top and allow to

rest for 15 min. Knead everything thoroughly and add the pearl sugar at the end. Roll

out and make heaps of 100 gr. Let these rise for 15 min under a damp tea towel. Then

bake until golden brown.

Savoury Wafes

Ingredients:

• 4 sheets of puff pastry

• 5 slices of ham, smoked salmon, Ganda ham, herb cheese, mozzarella, young

cheese, Emmental.

• 4 dried tomatoes

• Tapenade

• Sour cream

Lay two sheets of puff pastry on the worktop and arrange, according to choice, ham,

cheese, salmon, etc, on top. Place the other two sheets on top. Cut everything into

squares measuring approx. 4 cm, lay these in the wafe iron, and bake them. Serve

with sour cream and tapenade.
