Installation Procedure
1. Remove all power to unit.
2. Unscrew 4 top assembly screws and remove
power source top. Unscrew 8 side assembly
screws and remove left side panel.
3. Drill a 17 mm hole 7 cm from side and 10 cm
from base on the rear panel of the power sup
-
ply. Insert plastic snap bushing into drilled
hole. ( See Figure 1)

37412 information provided for service only.
Assembly is no longer available.
4. One end of the wiring harness has two female
amp connectors . Connect these two female
amp connectors to the thermostat attached
to the slope resistor. Pull the other end of the
harness through the new snap bushing .
(See Figure 2)
Figure 2
6. Locate the two white wires (thermostat leads)
coming out of the top of the transformer left
winding (these wires have heat resistant insula-
tion). (See Figure 3A)
5. Run the wire to the front of the main trans
-
fromer. Pull the harness end up behind the
transformer support bracket. (See Figure 3)

7. Cut the wire tie holding the connectors together and disconnect the connector between the red and white
wire. Connect the Slope Resistor wire harness connectors to the connectors that were just disconnected.
This will place the new slope resistor thermostat in series with the transformer thermostat. In order for the
control circuit to operate, all thermostats must be linked together as stated above. (See Figure 4)

Operation and Cable Connection
The slope kit is rated up to 400 amps and is not recommended for use above 400 amps. Disconnect the slope
resistor assembly if welding above 400 amps. Connect the male twist lock connector or lugged cable of the Slope
Resistor Assembly to the positive (+) terminal for the power source. Connect the wire feeder welding cable to
the female twist lock connector or 1/2” stud of the Slope Resistor Assembly.
Attach wire tie
holders to base
Tie wrap harness to
A Frame
9. Pull excess wire harness wire through snap bushing and toward front of power source. Attach adhesive wire
tie holders to power source base as shown and tie wrap wire harness to holders. Tie wrap any excess wire to
the exisiting wire harness. (See Figure 6)
