This section provides instructions for selecting a location and preparing

1. Selectasuitablelocationthatisnotsusceptibletomoistureand
 isawayfromdrapes,furnitureandhightrafc.
2. Foreaseofelectricalhookupyoumaywishtolocatethe
 replacenearanexistingoutlet(refertoNOTE1).
3. Storethereplaceinasafedryanddustfreelocation.
CAUTION: Clearanceforaircirculationbeneaththereplace
isprovidedbytwospacers.Do not install the replace insert
directly on carpet or similar surfaces which may restrict air
circulation.Ifinstallingthereplaceinacarpetedarea,placea
one-piece,solidatsurfaceunderthereplace.Ensurethatallfeet
restsecurelyonthissurface.

brightnessoftheinteriorlight.

D. Flame/Heat Selection Switch
Togglesbetweenameeffect,lowandhighheatsettings.
E. Heater Thermostat Control
Toadjustthetemperaturetoyourindividualrequirements,turnthe
thermostatcontrolclockwiseallthewaytoturnontheheater.When
theroomreachesthedesiredtemperature,turnthethermostatknob
counterclockwiseuntilyouhearaclick.Leaveinthispositionto
maintaintheroomtemperatureatitssetting.Foradditionalheat,turn
clockwiseuntilyouheartheclickagainandtheheaterwillturnon.To
turntheheateroff,rotatetheknobfullycounterclockwise.

Resetting the Temperature Cutoff Switch

Battery Replacement
Toreplacethebattery:
1. Slidebatterycoveropenonthehandheldtransmitter(Figure7).
2. Correctlyinstallone(1)12Volt(A23)batteryinthebatteryholder.
3. Closethebatterycover.

Light Bulb Replacement
Allowatleastve(5)minutesforthelightbulbstocoolbeforetouching
themtoavoidaccidentalburningoftheskin.Thelightbulbsneed
tobereplacedwhenyounoticeadarksectionoftheameorwhen
theclarityanddetailofthelogemberbedexteriorreduces.There
arethree(3)bulbsunderthelogset,whichgeneratetheamesand
embers,andtwo(2)bulbsabovethelogthatilluminatethelogexterior.
Helpful Hints
Itisagoodideatoreplacealllightbulbsatonetimeiftheyarecloseto

theendoftheirratedlife.Groupreplacementwillreducethenumber
oftimesyouneedtoopentheunittoreplacelightbulbs.Caremust
betakenwhenremovingthelogsetasthelogsetcontainsLED’sand
wires.
Lower Light Bulb Requirements

To access the lower light bulb area:
1. Slidereplaceoutofmantel.
2. Layunitonit’sbackforsaferemovaloffrontglass.
3. Removefour(4)Phillipsscrewsfromtherightsideoftrim.
4. Slideglasstorightsideofreplacetoremove(Figure8).
5. Pullthefrontedgeoftheplasticemberbedorplasticgrateupand
 forwarduntilthereartabreleasesfromtheledgelocatedatthe
 bottomofthemirror(Figure9).
6. Removeickerrodbyslidingickerrodtotheleftawayfromthe
 ickermotorandliftingout.
7. Removelightbracketforeasieraccesstolightbulbs.
! IMPORTANT: Onlyhandlethelogsetbytheemberbed.
! NOTE: Logsettstightlyintorebox,someforcemaybe

8. Setlogsetinfrontofreplace.
9. Unscrewbulbscounterclockwise.
10.Insertnewbulbs.
11.Replacethelogsetbyinsertingthefrontedgeofthereplaceand
 pushdownontherearedgeoftheemberbeduntilitsnapsinto
 place(Figure9).
12.Layunitonit’sbackandslidefrontglassbackintopositionand

What Dimplex will do in the event of a defect
Intheeventaproductorpartcoveredbythislimitedwarrantyisproventobedefectivein
material or workmanship during (i) the 2 year limited warranty period for products other
thanreplacesurrounds(mantels)andtrims,and(ii)the1yearlimitedwarrantyperiod
forsurrounds(mantels)andtrims,youhavethefollowingrights:
• Limitedwarrantyservicewillbeperformedsolelybydealersorserviceagentsof
Dimplexauthorizedtoprovidelimitedwarrantyservices.
For products (other than surrounds (mantels) and trims) for the period ending
at midnight on the rst anniversary of the date of rst purchase, Dimplex will
in its sole discretion either repair or replace such defective product or part without
charge.IfDimplexisunabletorepairorreplacesuchproductorpart,orifrepair
orreplacementisnotcommerciallypracticableorcannotbetimelymade,Dimplex
may, in lieu of repair or replacement, choose to refund the purchase price for such
productorpart.This limited warranty entitles the purchaser to on-site or in-home
warranty services.Accordingly,Dimplexwillberesponsibleforalllabourand
transportation costs associated with the repair or replacement of the product or part
exceptasfollows:(i)chargesmaybeleviedfortravelcostsincurredtotravelto
thepurchaserssitewheretheproductislocatedifthepurchaser’ssiteisbeyond
30 miles (48 km) from the closest service depot of Dimplex’s dealer or service
agent;and(ii)thepurchaserissolelyresponsibleforprovidingclearaccesstoall
serviceablepartsoftheproduct.
For products (other than surrounds (mantels) and trims) for the period
commencing at 12:01 a.m. on the day after the rst anniversary of the rst

purchase and ending at midnight on the second anniversary of the date of
rst purchase, this limited warranty entitles the purchaser to replacement parts
onlywithoutcharge.IfDimplexisunabletoreplacesuchpart,orifreplacement
isnotcommerciallypracticableorcannotbetimelymade,Dimplexmay,inlieuof
replacement,choosetorefundthepurchasepriceforsuchpart.Thepurchaser
shallnotbeentitledtoon-siteorin-homewarrantyservices.Thepurchasershall
beresponsibleforallexpensesincurredfortheremovalofthepartandinstallation
of the replacement part including, without limitation, all shipping costs and
transportationcoststoandfromtheauthorizeddealersorserviceagent’splaceof
businessandalllabourcosts.SuchcostsshallnotbetheresponsibilityofDimplex.
For surrounds (mantels) and trims for the period ending at midnight on the
rst anniversary of the date of rst purchase, Dimplex will in its sole discretion
either repair or replace such defective surrounds (mantels) and trims or part thereof
withoutcharge.IfDimplexisunabletorepairorreplacesuchproductorpart,or
ifrepairorreplacementisnotcommerciallypracticableorcannotbetimelymade,
Dimplex may, in lieu of repair or replacement, choose to refund the purchase price
forsuchproductorpart.Thepurchasershallnotbeentitledtoon-siteorin-house
services.Thepurchaserisresponsibleforallexpensesincurredforrepairor
replacement of such product or part including, without limitation, all shipping costs
andtransportationcoststoandfromtheauthorizeddealersorserviceagent’s
businessandalllabourcosts.SuchcostsshallnotbetheresponsibilityofDimplex.
On-siteorin-homeservicesnotprovidedunderthiswarrantymaybeperformedat•
thepurchasersspecicrequestandexpenseatDimplex’sthen-currentratesfor
suchservices.
What Dimplex and its dealers and service agents are also not responsible for:
INNOEVENTWILLDIMPLEX,ORITSDIRECTORS,OFFICERS,ORAGENTS,BE
LIABLETOTHEPURCHASERORANYTHIRDPARTY.WHETHERINCONTRACT,
INTORT,ORONANYOTHERBASIS,FORANYINDIRECT,SPECIAL,PUNITIVE,
EXEMPLARY,CONSEQUENTIAL,ORINCIDENTALLOSS,COST,ORDAMAGE
ARISINGOUTOFORINCONNECTIONWITHTHESALE,MAINTENANCE,USE,
ORINABILITYTOUSETHEPRODUCT,EVENIFDIMPLEXORITSDIRECTORS,
OFFICERS,ORAGENTSHAVEBEENADVISEDOFTHEPOSSIBILITYOFSUCH
LOSSES,COSTSORDAMAGES,ORIFSUCHLOSSES,COSTS,ORDAMAGESARE
FORESEEABLE.INNOEVENTWILLDIMPLEX,ORITSOFFICERS,DIRECTORS,
ORAGENTSBELIABLEFORANYDIRECTLOSSES,COSTS,ORDAMAGESTHAT
EXCEEDTHEPURCHASEPRICEOFTHEPRODUCT.
SOMEJURISDICTIONSDONOTALLOWTHEEXCLUSIONORLIMITATIONOF
INCIDENTALORCONSEQUENTIALDAMAGES,SOTHEABOVELIMITATIONOR
EXCLUSIONMAYNOTAPPLYTOTHEPURCHASER.
How State and Provincial law apply
Thislimitedwarrantygivesyouspeciclegalrights,andyoumayalsohaveother
rightswhichvaryfromjurisdictiontojurisdiction.TheprovisionsoftheUnitedNations
ConventiononContractsfortheSaleofGoodsshallnotapplytothislimitedwarrantyor
thesaleofproductscoveredbythislimitedwarranty.
