Fireplace Assembly
Theonlyassemblyrequiredistoslidethefrontglassontothe
replaceandinstallhardwaretokeepitinplace.
1. Removereplaceandglasscarefullyfromthecarton,discard
theplasticbagandfoampackaging.
2.Removethefoamblockfromwithinthereplace(Figure2).
3. Usingsidecuttersorscissors,cutandremovethetwo(2)cable
tiesasshowninFigure2andremovethecardboardthatprotects
thelogset.
4. Removetherighthandsidetrimbyremovingfour(4)Phillips
screwsatthesideofthereplace.

Site Selection and Preparation
This section provides instructions for selecting a location and preparing
thesitetoinstallthereplaceintoyourDimplexmantelsurround.
1. Selectasuitablelocationthatisnotsusceptibletomoistureand
 isawayfromdrapes,furnitureandhightrafc.
2. Foreaseofelectricalhookupyoumaywishtolocatethe
 replacenearanexistingoutlet(refertoNOTE1).
3. Storethereplaceinasafedryanddustfreelocation.
CAUTION: Clearanceforaircirculationbeneaththereplace
isprovidedbytwospacers.Do not install the replace insert
directly on carpet or similar surfaces which may restrict air
circulation.Ifinstallingthereplaceinacarpetedarea,placea
one-piece,solidatsurfaceunderthereplace.Ensurethatallfeet
restsecurelyonthissurface.
! NOTE: Thedimensionsofthereplacewiththetrimare27⅜

This mustbeinstalledawayfromshowers,tubs,etc.Neverlocate
replacewhereitmayfallintoabathtuborotherwatercontainer.High
temperaturesmaybegeneratedundercertainabnormalconditions.
Donotpartiallyorfullycoverorobstructthefrontofthisheater.

Themanualcontrolsforthereplacearebehindtheaccesspanel
locatedatthebottomofthereplace(Figure6).
A. Flame Action Control
Turntheameactioncontrolknobtoadjusttheamespeedtothe
desiredlevel.

B. Interior Light Control
Turntheinteriorlightcontrolknobtoincreaseordecreasethe
brightnessoftheinteriorlight.
C. LED Indicators
Indicatesthecurrentfunctionofthereplace.
D. Flame/Heat Selection Switch
Togglesbetweenameeffect,lowandhighheatsettings.
E. Heater Thermostat Control
Toadjustthetemperaturetoyourindividualrequirements,turnthe
thermostatcontrolclockwiseallthewaytoturnontheheater.When
theroomreachesthedesiredtemperature,turnthethermostatknob
counterclockwiseuntilyouhearaclick.Leaveinthispositionto
maintaintheroomtemperatureatitssetting.Foradditionalheat,turn
clockwiseuntilyouheartheclickagainandtheheaterwillturnon.To
turntheheateroff,rotatetheknobfullycounterclockwise.
F. Main ON/OFF Switch
TheON/OFFSwitchsuppliespowertoallreplacefunctions.
Resetting the Temperature Cutoff Switch
Thisunitisequippedwithathermostatwhichcontrolsthetemperature
oftheroombyturningtheheateronandoff.Theheaterisprotected
withasafetydevicetopreventoverheating.Shouldtheheater
overheat, an automatic cut out will turn the heater off and it will not
comebackonwithoutbeingreset.ItcanberesetbyswitchingtheON/

Remote Control
Thereplaceissuppliedwitharadiofrequency
remotecontrol.Thisremotecontrolhasarange
ofapproximately50feet(15.25m),itdoesnot
havetobepointedatthereplaceandcanpass
throughmostobstacles(includingwalls).Itis
supplied with one of hundreds of independent
frequenciestopreventinterferencewithother
units.Thefrequencydesignationisindicated
onthebackofthetransmitter.
Remote Control Initialization
Followsteps1through6toinitializeyour
replaceforthersttime.Thisprocedureis
alsorequiredeverytimethereisalossofpower
totheremotecontrolinthereplace.(I.E.
powerfailure,breakertripped,mainpower
switch is turned off)
1. Ensurethatpowerissuppliedthroughthe
 mainservicepanel.
2. Accessthemanualcontrols,(removeglass
 doorsorpullgrilldownifapplicable)pull
the right side steel curtain to the outside of
 theunit(ifapplicable).
3.Locatemanualcontrols.
4.Activatemainpowerswitch. 
5.PressandholdtheONswitchmarked“-”forve(5)seconds(red
 indicatorlightwillash).
6. PresstheONbuttonlocatedontheremotecontroltransmitter.
Thiswillsynchronizetheremotecontroltransmitterandreceiver.

Remote Control Usage
Theremotecontroloperatesthereplacelevelssequentially,ames
onlytoamesandlowheat,toamesandhighheat.Thelevelis
increasedeverytimetheONbuttononthetransmitterispressed.The
replacecanbeturnedoffatanypointbypressingtheOFFbuttonon
theremotecontroltransmitter.
Level1:Theameeffectisturnedonandtherstredindicatorlight
 turnson.
Level2:Theameeffectremainson,theheaterisactivatedtothe
 lowheatsetting,andtherstandsecondredindicatorlightsturn
 andremainlit.
Level3:Theameeffectremainson,theheaterissettothehighheat
 setting,andallthreeredindicatorlightsremainlit.
Battery Replacement
Toreplacethebattery:
1. Slidebatterycoveropenonthehandheldtransmitter(Figure7).
2. Correctlyinstallone(1)12Volt(A23)batteryinthebatteryholder.
3. Closethebatterycover.
Maintenance
WARNING: Disconnectthepowerbeforeattemptingany
 maintenanceorcleaningtoreducetheriskofre,electricshockor
 damagetopersons.
Light Bulb Replacement
Allowatleastve(5)minutesforthelightbulbstocoolbeforetouching
themtoavoidaccidentalburningoftheskin.Thelightbulbsneed
tobereplacedwhenyounoticeadarksectionoftheameorwhen
theclarityanddetailofthelogemberbedexteriorreduces.There
arethree(3)bulbsunderthelogset,whichgeneratetheamesand
embers,andtwo(2)bulbsabovethelogthatilluminatethelogexterior.
Helpful Hints
Itisagoodideatoreplacealllightbulbsatonetimeiftheyarecloseto

theendoftheirratedlife.Groupreplacementwillreducethenumber
oftimesyouneedtoopentheunittoreplacelightbulbs.Caremust
betakenwhenremovingthelogsetasthelogsetcontainsLED’sand
wires.
Lower Light Bulb Requirements
Quantityofthree(3)clearchandelierorcandelabrabulbswithanE-12
(small)socketbase,60Wattrating.Example:GE60BCorPhilips60
CTC.
Do not exceed 60 Watts per bulb.
To access the lower light bulb area:
1. Slidereplaceoutofmantel.
2. Layunitonit’sbackforsaferemovaloffrontglass.
3. Removefour(4)Phillipsscrewsfromtherightsideoftrim.
4. Slideglasstorightsideofreplacetoremove(Figure8).
5. Pullthefrontedgeoftheplasticemberbedorplasticgrateupand
 forwarduntilthereartabreleasesfromtheledgelocatedatthe
 bottomofthemirror(Figure9).
6. Removeickerrodbyslidingickerrodtotheleftawayfromthe
 ickermotorandliftingout.
7. Removelightbracketforeasieraccesstolightbulbs.
! IMPORTANT: Onlyhandlethelogsetbytheemberbed.
! NOTE: Logsettstightlyintorebox,someforcemaybe
 necessarytoremove.
8. Setlogsetinfrontofreplace.
9. Unscrewbulbscounterclockwise.
10.Insertnewbulbs.
11.Replacethelogsetbyinsertingthefrontedgeofthereplaceand
 pushdownontherearedgeoftheemberbeduntilitsnapsinto
 place(Figure9).
12.Layunitonit’sbackandslidefrontglassbackintopositionand
attach trim.

Theglassiscleanedinthefactoryduringtheassemblyoperation.
Duringshipment,installation,handling,etc.,theglassmaycollectdust
particles;thesecanberemovedbydustinglightlywithacleandry

Toremovengerprintsorothermarks,theglasscanbecleanedwith
adampcloth.Topreventscratching,donotuseabrasivecleanersor
sprayliquidsontheanysurface.
Fireplace Surface Cleaning
Useaclothdampenedwithwarmwateronlytocleanpaintedsurfaces
oftheelectricreplace.Donotuseabrasivecleaners.
Two Year Limited Warranty
Products to which this limited warranty applies
ThislimitedwarrantyappliestoyournewlypurchasedDimplexelectricreplace.This
limited warranty applies only to purchases made in any province of Canada except for
YukonTerritory,Nunavut,orNorthwestTerritoriesorinanyofthe50StatesoftheUSA
(andtheDistrictofColumbia)exceptforHawaiiandAlaska.Thislimitedwarrantyapplies
totheoriginalpurchaseroftheproductonlyandisnottransferable.
Products excluded from this limited warranty
Lightbulbsarenotcoveredbythislimitedwarrantyandarethesoleresponsibilityofthe
owner/purchaser.ProductspurchasedinYukonTerritory,Nunavut,NorthwestTerritories,
Hawaii,orAlaskaarenotcoveredbythislimitedwarranty.Productspurchasedinthese
States,provinces,orterritoriesaresoldASISwithoutwarrantyorconditionofanykind
(including,withoutlimitation,anyimpliedwarrantiesorconditionsofmerchantabilityor
tnessforaparticularpurpose)andtheentireriskofastothequalityandperformance

in-homeservices,fortherstyearfollowingthedateofrstpurchase;and(b)thereafter,
a replacement of parts warranty on defective products and parts (with no in-home
services)forthe1yearperiodcommencingontherstanniversaryofrstpurchaseand
endingonthesecondanniversaryofthedateofrstpurchase.
Dimplexreplacesurrounds(mantels)andtrimscoveredbythislimitedwarranty
havebeentestedandinspectedpriortoshipmentand,subjecttotheprovisionsof

thiswarranty,Dimplexwarrantssuchproductstobefreefromdefectsinmaterialand
workmanshipforaperiodof1yearfromthedateofrstpurchaseofsuchproducts.
Warranty services do not include in-home services.

What Dimplex will do in the event of a defect
Intheeventaproductorpartcoveredbythislimitedwarrantyisproventobedefectivein
material or workmanship during (i) the 2 year limited warranty period for products other
thanreplacesurrounds(mantels)andtrims,and(ii)the1yearlimitedwarrantyperiod
forsurrounds(mantels)andtrims,youhavethefollowingrights:
• Limitedwarrantyservicewillbeperformedsolelybydealersorserviceagentsof
Dimplexauthorizedtoprovidelimitedwarrantyservices.
For products (other than surrounds (mantels) and trims) for the period ending
at midnight on the rst anniversary of the date of rst purchase, Dimplex will
in its sole discretion either repair or replace such defective product or part without
charge.IfDimplexisunabletorepairorreplacesuchproductorpart,orifrepair
orreplacementisnotcommerciallypracticableorcannotbetimelymade,Dimplex
may, in lieu of repair or replacement, choose to refund the purchase price for such
productorpart.This limited warranty entitles the purchaser to on-site or in-home
warranty services.Accordingly,Dimplexwillberesponsibleforalllabourand
transportation costs associated with the repair or replacement of the product or part
exceptasfollows:(i)chargesmaybeleviedfortravelcostsincurredtotravelto
thepurchaserssitewheretheproductislocatedifthepurchaser’ssiteisbeyond
30 miles (48 km) from the closest service depot of Dimplex’s dealer or service
agent;and(ii)thepurchaserissolelyresponsibleforprovidingclearaccesstoall
serviceablepartsoftheproduct.
For products (other than surrounds (mantels) and trims) for the period
commencing at 12:01 a.m. on the day after the rst anniversary of the rst

purchase and ending at midnight on the second anniversary of the date of
rst purchase, this limited warranty entitles the purchaser to replacement parts
onlywithoutcharge.IfDimplexisunabletoreplacesuchpart,orifreplacement
isnotcommerciallypracticableorcannotbetimelymade,Dimplexmay,inlieuof
replacement,choosetorefundthepurchasepriceforsuchpart.Thepurchaser
shallnotbeentitledtoon-siteorin-homewarrantyservices.Thepurchasershall
beresponsibleforallexpensesincurredfortheremovalofthepartandinstallation
of the replacement part including, without limitation, all shipping costs and
transportationcoststoandfromtheauthorizeddealersorserviceagent’splaceof
businessandalllabourcosts.SuchcostsshallnotbetheresponsibilityofDimplex.
For surrounds (mantels) and trims for the period ending at midnight on the
rst anniversary of the date of rst purchase, Dimplex will in its sole discretion
either repair or replace such defective surrounds (mantels) and trims or part thereof
withoutcharge.IfDimplexisunabletorepairorreplacesuchproductorpart,or
ifrepairorreplacementisnotcommerciallypracticableorcannotbetimelymade,
Dimplex may, in lieu of repair or replacement, choose to refund the purchase price
forsuchproductorpart.Thepurchasershallnotbeentitledtoon-siteorin-house
services.Thepurchaserisresponsibleforallexpensesincurredforrepairor
replacement of such product or part including, without limitation, all shipping costs
andtransportationcoststoandfromtheauthorizeddealersorserviceagent’s
businessandalllabourcosts.SuchcostsshallnotbetheresponsibilityofDimplex.
On-siteorin-homeservicesnotprovidedunderthiswarrantymaybeperformedat•
thepurchasersspecicrequestandexpenseatDimplex’sthen-currentratesfor
suchservices.
What Dimplex and its dealers and service agents are also not responsible for:
INNOEVENTWILLDIMPLEX,ORITSDIRECTORS,OFFICERS,ORAGENTS,BE
LIABLETOTHEPURCHASERORANYTHIRDPARTY.WHETHERINCONTRACT,
INTORT,ORONANYOTHERBASIS,FORANYINDIRECT,SPECIAL,PUNITIVE,
EXEMPLARY,CONSEQUENTIAL,ORINCIDENTALLOSS,COST,ORDAMAGE
ARISINGOUTOFORINCONNECTIONWITHTHESALE,MAINTENANCE,USE,
ORINABILITYTOUSETHEPRODUCT,EVENIFDIMPLEXORITSDIRECTORS,
OFFICERS,ORAGENTSHAVEBEENADVISEDOFTHEPOSSIBILITYOFSUCH
LOSSES,COSTSORDAMAGES,ORIFSUCHLOSSES,COSTS,ORDAMAGESARE
FORESEEABLE.INNOEVENTWILLDIMPLEX,ORITSOFFICERS,DIRECTORS,
ORAGENTSBELIABLEFORANYDIRECTLOSSES,COSTS,ORDAMAGESTHAT
EXCEEDTHEPURCHASEPRICEOFTHEPRODUCT.
SOMEJURISDICTIONSDONOTALLOWTHEEXCLUSIONORLIMITATIONOF
INCIDENTALORCONSEQUENTIALDAMAGES,SOTHEABOVELIMITATIONOR
EXCLUSIONMAYNOTAPPLYTOTHEPURCHASER.
How State and Provincial law apply
Thislimitedwarrantygivesyouspeciclegalrights,andyoumayalsohaveother
rightswhichvaryfromjurisdictiontojurisdiction.TheprovisionsoftheUnitedNations
ConventiononContractsfortheSaleofGoodsshallnotapplytothislimitedwarrantyor
thesaleofproductscoveredbythislimitedwarranty.
