Folding and Unfolding
With its simple folding mechanism khargo can be folded quickly and
easily. In the folded mode khargo can easily be stored and transported.
You can even carry khargo behind you when mounting steps.
Danger of Squeezing. When folding khargo, pay attention not to
squeeze body parts, clothes or brake wires.
Folding
_ Stand behind khargo and use the parking brake.
_ Close the handgrips (description: see section 3).
_ Hold khargo at the closed handgrips.
_ Use the recess in the seat to open the safety lock for the folding
mechanism by pulling it. Move the seat into a vertical position. The
safety lock will be deactivated and khargo folds flat. In the folded
position the front wheels are situated between the rear wheels.
Advice: When folding khargo take one step back to avoid an over-
balance to the front.
_ Check that the safety lock for the folding mechanism closes correctly
when khargo is completely folded.
Unfolding
_ Use the parking brake.
_ Hold khargo at the closed handgrips.
_ Unlock the safety lock for the folding mechanism by putting your
hand in the recess of the seat and by pulling it. Move the seat into
a horizontal position. The front wheels will unfold.
_ Check that the safety lock for the folding mechanism closes correctly
when khargo is completely unfolded.
Height Adjustment
To adjust the height of the handgrips khargo has to be
unfolded and the handgrips have to be open.
_ Use the parking brake.
_ Put the backrest in a vertical position by pulling it.
_ Start on the right side. Pull the orange sliding element backwards
and pull or push the handgrip into the right height for you. The
handgrip tubes have numbers on the inside of both tubes to help
you see and memorize the right position for you.
Advice: Try out different handgrip heights to determine the most
comfortable handgrip height for you. Frequently, the optimal height
is chosen when the arms are slightly bended while holding on to the
handgrips.
_ Check that the sliding element for the height adjustment locks
correctly.
_ Repeat the height adjustment on the left side.
_ Put the backrest back in its original position by pushing it down.
Advice: Remember your personal handgrip height when changing
the height and folding khargo for transportation purposes.

Selecting a Handgrip Position
khargo offers two different handgrip positions to you. You can close
the handgrips in front of you and move khargo like a stroller. Or you
can use khargo with open handgrips like a wheelbarrow.
Closing the Handgrips
_ Start with the right handgrip: pull the orange operating element
located at the handgrip behind the brake lever, simultaneously,
turn the handgrip to the centre.
_ Repeat the action for the left handgrip.
_ Join the two handgrips. Push the orange pin on top of the left
handgrip until it disappears completely. Only then the handgrips
are locked correctly.
Opening the Handgrips
_ Open the lock of the two handgrips by pushing the orange button
underside the right handgrip.
_ Open the two handgrips by turning them until they lock in the
open mode.
Brakes
Special Note: Each brake only affects one wheel. Always use both
brakes to slow down or to park khargo.
Parking brakes
_ To block the wheels permanently, push the brake levers downwards
until they lock.
_ To unblock the parking brakes, pull the brake levers until they unlock.
Operating brakes
_ Pull the brake levers towards the handgrips to block the wheels.
_ To unblock the operating brakes, release the brake levers slowly.
Adjusting the Brakes
Upon delivery the brakes are correctly adjusted. During usage the
brake shoes are subject to abrasion.
_ To adjust the brakes a knurled screw is located at the brake wire.
_ Turn the knurled screw to the right (clockwise), consequently, the
distance between brake shoe and wheel decreases and the brake
force increases.
_ The optimal distance between brake shoe and wheel is 20 mm.
_ After adjusting the brakes check that each brake functions correctly.
Attention
Danger of tilting on curbes and slopes! Always approach curbes in
forward-direction (at a right angle). Do not walk on slopes with khargo.
It is prohibited to use khargo for the transportation of people
like a wheelchair.

the frame.

The following accessories make the use of khargo even more
comfortable: bag, basket (max. load capacity 15 kg), cane holder, tilt aid.
Maintenance
khargo is largely maintainance-free. All parts are corrosion resistant.
To clean khargo use water and regular washing-up liquid.
After using khargo for a longer period of time, all screws have to be
tightened.
