the device and have understood its associated

GB OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Caution!

• Before using the device please read the operating instructions!

• The instructions are part of the product and contain important information on getting

started with and using the device.

• Always keep the instructions in a safe place for reference!

• They must also be passed on in the event the device is transferred to a third party.

1 SAFETY INFORMATION

These safety instructions must be heeded! Otherwise all warranty claims are voided. We are not

liable for either material or personal damages, or consequential damages resulting from non-com-

pliance with the safety instructions or improper use.

• Children can not properly assess the risks associated with electrical equipment. Never

allow children to use electrical equipment unsupervised.

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced

physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless

they are given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person

responsible for their safety.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or ots service

agent or a similarly qualiﬁed person in order to avoid a hazard.

• Clean the device with a damp cloth before using for the ﬁrst time.

• The device is only suited for warming up milk bottles or processed food jars.

• The device may not be operated with dust protection cover. Remove the cover every time

before use.

• The heating dish heats up during operation and hot steam rises upward. Do not touch the

baby food warmer during heating – to avoid burns and scalding.

• Only transport and clean the device after it has cooled down.

• Remove the mains plug from the socket when the device is not in use and before removing

components of the device.

• Always remain in the vicinity whilst the device is in use.

• Repairs may only be performed by authorised specialist staff.

• Use only the components supplied with the device.

• Keep away from children or animals.

• Do not use the device when visibly damaged.

• Do not touch hot parts with your bare hands – danger of burning.

• The device is only suited for operation in closed areas.

• In any case never heat food too long time.

• The appliance is only ﬁt for use at home.

• The device may not be connected to the voltage supply if the device or the power cable

are damaged. Please contact our authorised specialist staff in this case.

2. TO CHECK THE TEMPERATURE

The ideal temperature for beverages and food is approx. 37 °C (98 °F).

Important! Jars and bottles are usually hotter than the contents when warmed up. You

should therefore always check the temperature of the contents before giving your child

the bottle. If the milk is too hot, allow the bottles to stand a few minutes.

3. ROTARY SWITCH

The rotary controller is continuously adjustable as follows to warm up milk bottles and food jars:

OFF – device is switched off

– keeping milk bottles or food jars warm

– warming up milk bottles

– warming up food jars

Note: the information provided serves as a guideline only. The actual temperature

always depends on the volume and type of food to be warmed up.

4. WARMING UP BOTTLES AND FOOD JARS

see ﬁgure 1-5

2. Whenwarmuptimeisover,theoperatinglightgoesoutandthebottleorjarcanbe

removed.

3. Shakethebottleslightlyorstirthefoodinthejarwithaspoontocheckthebottleor

jarcontents,asdescribedin“Tocheckthetemperature”,beforefeedingthebaby.

4. Ifthetemperatureistoolow,youcanleavethebottleorthejarinthebabyfoodwar

merforafewminuteswithoutswitchingthecontrolleronagain,sincetheremaining

heatkeepsbottleorjarwarm.

Important! Always set the rotary controller to OFF after use, remove the device plug

from the socket and pour the water out of the baby food warmer.

5. HEAT RETENTION FUNCTION

1. Settheswitchontheundersideofthedeviceto„car-use“.Turntheknobonthefrontof

thedeviceto„OFF“.

2. Plugtheendofthecablesuppliedtowhichthevehicleadapterisxedinthevehicle‘s

12Velectricalsystem(cigarettelighter)andtheotherendintheunit.

3. Turntherotaryswitchonthefrontoftheunittotherequiredwarm-uptime.The

operatinglamplightsuptoindicatetheunitisinuse.

4. Whenthewarm-uptimehaselapsed,theoperatinglampgoesoutandyoucanremove

thebottleorjar.

5. Shakethebottlealittleorstirthecontentofthejarwithaspoonandcheckthetem

peratureofthecontentofthebottleorjarasdescribedin„Tocheckthetemperature“

beforefeedingthebaby.

6. Ifthetemperatureistoolow,youcanputthebottleorjarbackinthebabyfood

warmerforafewminuteswithoutsettingtherotaryswitchagainbecausetheresidual

heatissucienttoheatupthebottleorjaralittlemore.

Important! After using the baby food warmer, always reset the rotary switch to OFF,

disconnect the unit‘s plug from the power socket and pour the water out of the baby

food warmer.

6. HEAT RETENTION FUNCTION

The baby food warmer keeps baby food warm for a certain period of time. Simply leave the bottle or

jar in the device after warming up and set the rotary controller to

warm for longer than one hour.

7. CABLE WINDING

The device has a useful cable winder on the underside. The power cable can be wound up neatly

after using the device, saving space as well.

8. CLEANING AND CARE

Cleaning

Ensure that the device is disconnected from the mains and cooled down before cleaning. Never cle-

an the device when it is hot. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or pot scrubbers, since this would

affect the surface of the device. After each use, clean the device and the cover with a moist cloth.

Attention! Never submerge the device or the power cable in water or in other liquids!

De-liming

After frequent use (depending on hardness of water) there is a lime scale build-up on the hotplate

on the ﬂoor of the device. This lime scale must be removed regularly to ensure that the device

functions properly, else disinfection may be signiﬁcantly impaired.

Note! In case of slight lime scale build-up we recommend the use of normal vinegar as

described below. Commercially available lime solvents are used for heavier build up –

in any event, the manufacturer‘s instructions must be heeded.

De-liming with vinegar

1. Beforede-liming,ensurethatthedeviceisdisconnectedfromthemainsandhascooled

down.

2. Mix100mlofvinegarwith100mlofhotwaterandpourontothehotplateontheoor

ofthedevice.

3. Allowapprox.30minutestotakeeect,andthenpourout.Finallycleanthedevice

withamoistcloth.

Important! Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or pot scrubbers.

9. NOTES ON DISPOSAL

Old units, marked with the symbol as illustrated, may not be disposed of in the

household rubbish. You must take them to a collection point for old units (enquire at

your local authority) or the dealer from whom you bought them. These agencies will

ensure environmentally friendly disposal.

10. WARRANTY

The unit has been carefully checked for defects. In the case of a defect, please return the device

together with the receipt and original packing material to the point-of-sale.

We are not liable for damage arising from incorrect handling, improper use or wear and tear.

We reserve the right to make technical modiﬁcations.
