1. Introduction

These operating instructions are part of this product. They contain important notes on commissioning and

handling. Also consider this if you pass on the product to any third party. Therefore, retain these operating

instructions for reference!

2. Explanation of symbols

The symbol with the lightning in the triangle is used if there is a risk to your health, e.g. due to an electric

shock.

The exclamation mark indicates specic risks associated with handling, function and use.

The “arrow” symbol indicates special tips and operating information.

This product must only be installed and used in dry indoor areas. It must not become damp or wet, as this

may result in a fatal electric shock!

This symbol indicates that this product is built according to protection class II. It is equipped with reinforced

or dual insulation between the mains circuit and the output voltage.

This product is built according to protection class III. Protection class III includes electrical products with a

low voltage power supply (< 50 Volts) using a safety transformer or batteries/rechargeable batteries/solar

power etc. Products in protection class III have no connection for protective insulation - they must not be

connected to the protective earth.

This symbol indicates that a safety transformer is built into the product in accordance with VDE 0551

guidelines.

Independent converter. The converter is designed to operate lights without additional covers or safety

measures.

This symbol reminds you to read the operating instructions included with the product.

3. Intended use

This product is designed for use as a decorative indoor lamp. The LED strip is powered by a 12 V/DC voltage. It must

only be operated with the power adapter that is included with the product. It can be separated into groups of 3 LEDs

and attached to different types of surfaces using adhesive tape. The light must be mounted in a position that protects

it against moisture, dirt and heat. It can be attached to a oor, wall or ceiling.

It is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture, e.g. in bathrooms, must be avoided

under all circumstances.

For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the product for purposes

other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper use can cause hazards such

as short circuiting, re, electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available

to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

6. Safety instructions

Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety information. If you do

not follow the safety instructions and information on proper handling in this manual, we assume

no liability for any resulting personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the

warranty/guarantee.

a) General information

• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous playing material

for children.

• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity, moisture,

ammable gases, vapours and solvents.

• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.

• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from any

accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:

- is visibly damaged,

- is no longer working properly,

- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or

- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.

• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage the

product.

• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are connected to the

product.

• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.

• Maintenance, modications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an expert or at a qualied

shop.

• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our technical

support service or other technical personnel.

b) Persons and product

• Refer to the safety information and operating instructions for other devices (such as remote-controlled

sockets and timers) when connecting such devices to the light.

• Before connecting to the mains, make sure that your local AC mains voltage matches the specications

on the nameplate. Never attempt to operate the product using another type of voltage, as this may

destroy the product.

• Never cover the product. The surface may get hot during use. Covering the product not only constitutes

a re hazard but may also cause it to overheat, which can damage the product.

• Keep the product away from ammable materials and objects.

• Do not hang or secure any objects (e.g. decorations) to the product.

• Do not install or use the product in rooms or in adverse environmental conditions that contain or may

contain ammable gases, vapours or dust. There is a risk of explosion!

• The LED strip is constructed according to protection class III.

• This product is not designed for use with an alternating current (transformers), as this may destroy the

LED strip!

• Do not place mechanical loads on the components of the LED strip.

• The power adapter is constructed according to protection class II. Only use a mains socket

(100 - 240 V/AC, 50/60 Hz) connected to the public supply net as a voltage source.

• Never pour any liquids over electrical products or put objects lled with liquid next to the product. If liquid

or an object does enter the interior of the product, power down the respective socket (e.g. switch off

circuit breaker) and then pull the mains plug from the mains socket. Discontinue use and take the product

to a specialist repair centre.

• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into a warm one.

The condensation generated could destroy the product. The plug-in power supply unit also involves

danger to life by electric shock! Allow the product to reach room temperature before connecting it to the

power supply and putting it to use. This may take several hours.

• Do not touch the power adapter if there are any signs of damage, as this may cause a fatal electric

shock! Switch off the mains voltage to the mains socket to which the power adapter is connected (switch

off at the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse, then switch off at the corresponding

RCD protective switch, so that all poles of the mains socket are disconnected). Then unplug the power

adapter from the mains socket. Dispose of the faulty power adapter in an environmentally friendly way

and discontinue use. Replace it with a power adapter of the same design.

• The mains outlet must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.

• Only use the supplied mains adapter to power the product.

• Never connect or disconnect power adapters if your hands are wet.

• Never unplug the power adapter from the mains socket by pulling on the cable; always use the grips

on the plug.

• When setting up the product, make sure that the cable is not pinched, kinked or damaged by sharp

edges.

• Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them. This poses a risk of

injury.

• For safety reasons, disconnect the power adapter from the mains socket during storms.

• Attention, LED light:

- Do not look directly into the LED light!

- Do not look into the beam directly or with optical instruments!

8. Preparation for mounting

Read the "6. Safety instructions" section carefully before mounting the product.

Warning! The product must only be installed by a qualied electrician who is familiar with the relevant

regulations (e.g. VDE)! By carrying out improper work on the mains voltage you endanger not only yourself,

but also others! If you do not know how to mount the product, get a technician to do it for you; do not mount

it yourself.

• Mount the product in an area that is out of the reach of children.

• Only mount the product on a stable surface. Stick the LED strip to a metal surface to ensure that it can cool down

properly.

This product is powered by a low 12 V/DC voltage. Never use a higher or alternating voltage.

9. Mounting and connection

Read the information in the "Preparation for mounting" section.

The conductors must not be damaged or interrupted when mounting the LED strip!

When mounting the LED strip on metal surfaces, the mounting surface should be isolated from the LED

strip (1) to prevent short circuits on exposed solder contacts.

• Take precautions against electrostatic discharges (ESD) when mounting the product.

• The LED strip can be mounted using the double-sided adhesive tape on the rear of the strip (2). Start by mounting

the LED strip at one end.

• Peel off approximately 30 cm of protective lm on the back of the LED strip.

• Stick the LED strip to the mounting surface. Ensure that you secure the LED strip to a clean surface that is free

from grease, oil, silicon and dust.

• Repeat this step bit by bit until the LED strip is fully secure.

Caution: Do not bend the LED strip! This can damage the soldered joints.

• Separate the LED strip at the marked points using a pair of scissors, a wire cutter or other similar tool. Alternatively,

use a box cutter to score along each side of the marked points and then carefully separate the LED strip.

You are recommended to connect the power adapter (6) to a socket with a switch so that you can turn the

LED strip on and off without unplugging the power adapter. If the power socket is located far from the

mounting location, use an extension cable. These components are not included with the product.

10. Operation

• Plug the connection plug (4) on the power cable (5) into the connection socket (3) on the LED strip (1).

• To use the LED strip (1), plug the power adapter (6) into a suitable mains socket.

• Switch on the mains socket (if applicable).

• The LED strip will turn on.

• To turn the LED strip off, switch off the power socket.

• Unplug the power adapter from the mains socket.

11. Maintenance and cleaning

Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these could damage the

housing or even impair the functioning of the product.

• You do not need to carry out maintenance work on the product. The SMD LEDs are not replaceable.

• Regularly check the product for damage, e.g. damage to the coating on the LED strip or the housing.

• Always disconnect the product from the power supply before cleaning it. Before cleaning, unplug the power adapter

from the mains socket and let the product cool down.

• Do not immerse the product in water.

• Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product.

12. Disposal

Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste. At the end of

its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory regulations.

You thus full your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
