Retrieving footage from Smart PSS
You can retrieve footage easily from the NVR by using the Smart PSS Software.
The files can be downloaded in an MP4 format.
On the Home Page of Smart PSS, press the Playback function under Search.
Your CCTV System will show up on the left-hand panel, press the white arrow to
expand the list to individual cameras.
The bottom left will also show the Record Type and Time, you can stipulate under the Record Type if you would like
to find All types of recordings or just Motion recordings (MD).
Searching the time is as easy as pressing the small calendar icon on the right-hand side. Any dates with a blue dot on
top means there are recordings on those days. Click on the calendar date to choose the day, leave the times as the
full 24 hours and press Search.
The timeline at the bottom will now show you the recordings for that day, anything green means Continuous
recordings and anything yellow shows Motion Detected recordings.
Left click on the timeline where you would like to start your playback. If you would like to narrow down on a certain
time, you can use the scroller in the middle of the mouse whilst hovering over the timeline to zoom in.
Once you have found the time you would like to snip, pause the recording and
then take it back ~5 seconds before the event starts.
Press the scissors button, this will automatically select an
hour worth of footage. You will need to use the middle
scroller to zoom in on the timeline and then move the right-
hand red line until you choose a minutes’ worth of footage.
Please note that the video footage is a very high resolution and any video over a minute will be a large data file
and cannot be emailed.
Once you have selected the time that you would
like to download, you will need to press the scissors
again and the box to the right will appear.
Press Browse to select a destination of where you
would like the video to go and change the Export
Format to MP4. Press Ok.
Once the video has exported, close the Export screen and open the destination that you have chosen, your video
