Ewbank 280 is a manual carpet shampooer suitable for domestic use on carpets and rugs. It features a 2.6-quart tank with clear markings for easy mixing of shampoo and water in a 10:1 ratio. The Cascade allows for spot cleaning and large area cleaning. The shampoo roller can be easily removed for cleaning. For optimal results, vacuum the carpet before use and test for colorfastness. Let the carpet dry completely after cleaning and vacuum to remove lifted deposits.

Manual Carpet Shampooer

The Cascade is intended for the domestic market. It is designed to be used on carpets &

rugs. Best results will be obtained by reading the following instructions carefully.

Before use

Vacuum the carpet to remove surface debris

before applying the foam shampoo.

It is advisable to test the carpet for color

fastness prior to use. To do this, mix a little of

the foam shampoo and water to the specified

dilution, apply to a clean cloth and then clean

a small area of carpet, ideally one which is

normally hidden from view.

For best results the shampoo should be mixed:

10 part water to 1 part shampoo i.e. 10 cups of

water to 1 cup of shampoo, or using the filling

marks on the rear of tank produces the same

results (10 to 1 mix).

How to use your Ewbank Cascade

How to fill

Turn the filler cap at the top of the tank 1/4 turn to the right and

remove (Fig.2).

Add water to the water level marked on the tank then add

shampoo to the shampoo level (Fig.3) for cleaning large areas.

Replace the filler cap and turn 1/4 turn to the left. If

spot cleaning, mix 10 oz. water to 1 oz. shampoo.

Press the handle release

Press down on the top of the handle release button then extend

the handle by gently pulling upwards until handle locks in place

(Fig.4).

Using the trigger

When the handle is locked into position you will feel a

spring loaded action in the trigger (Fig.5).

Cleaning

Squeezing the trigger will release the valve in the head of the unit

allowing the shampoo and water mixture to be applied to the foam

roller. Using short overlapping strokes the mixture will be applied

to the carpet or rug – DO NOT OVERWET the cleaning area (Fig.

6). Releasing the trigger will stop the flow of shampoo/water

mixture, although the roller will remain wet for a time afterwards.

After use, let the carpet or rug dry completely, then vacuum or

use your carpet sweeper to remove the deposits lifted by the foam

shampoo.

Note: The drying of the carpet generally takes 3-4 hours.

How to clean your Ewbank Cascade

After use, pour out any unused solution and clean by rinsing out the tank with a small amount

of clean water. Pull up on the trigger a number of times to run the clean water through the system.

Clean the head by rinsing the roller and brushes under a tap. The shampooer must be thoroughly

clean and dry before storing.

Your Warranty

If necessary you can remove the roller and brush head

assembly for cleaning. Do this by inserting a flat head screw

driver between the main moulding and the brush rocker arm

and gently levering out (Fig.7).

This product is guaranteed for a period of 12 months against faulty materials and workmanship.

in good working order, Ewbank LLC cannot under any circumstances accept liability for

problems or damage caused by their subsequent use. This warranty does not affect your

statutory rights. This warranty excludes the use for rental. In the event of a fault occurring please

contact our helpline before returning the unit to our Service Department at the address below

together with a copy of your purchase receipt. All repairs will be dealt with promptly. Some states

do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts and some states do not allow the

exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so part or all of the above

limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from

state to state.
