SOME DOS AND DON'TS ON THE SAFE USE OF EQUIPMENT
This equipment has been designed and manufactured to meet international safety standards but, like any
electrical equipment, care must be taken if you are to obtain the best results and safety is to be assured.
DO read the operating instructions before you attempt to use the equipment.
DO ensure that all electrical connections (including the mains plug, extension leads and inter-connections
between the pieces of equipment) are properly made and in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Switch off and withdraw the mains plug before making or changing connections.
DO consult your dealer if you are ever in doubt about the installation, operation or safety of your equipment.
DO be careful with glass panels or doors on equipment.
DO route the mains lead so that it is not likely to be walked on, crushed, chafed, or subjected to excessive wear
and tear or heat.
DON'T remove any fixed cover as this may expose dangerous voltages.
DON'T obstruct the ventilation openings of the equipment with items such as newspapers, tablecloths, curtains,
etc. Overheating will cause damage and shorten the life of the equipment.
DON'T allow electrical equipment to be exposed to dripping or splashing, or objects filled with liquids, such as
vases, to be placed on the equipment.
DON'T place hot objects or naked flame sources such as lighted candles or nightlights on, or close to equipment.
High temperatures can melt plastic and lead to fires.
DON'T use makeshift stands and NEVER fix legs with wood screws - to ensure complete safety always fit the
manufacturer's approved stand or legs with the fixings provided according to the instructions.
DON'T use equipment such as personal stereos or radios so that you are distracted from the requirements of
traffic safety. It is illegal to watch television whilst driving.
DON'T listen to headphones at high volume, as such use can permanently damage your hearing.
DON'T leave equipment switched on when it is unattended unless it is specifically stated that it is designed for
unattended operation or has a stand-by mode. Switch off using the switch on the equipment and make sure
that your family know how to do this. Special arrangements may need to be made for infirm or handicapped
people.
DON'T continue to operate the equipment if you are in any doubt about it working normally, or if it is damaged
in any way - switch off, withdraw the mains plug and consult your dealer.

IMPORTANT
The mains lead on this equipment may be supplied with a moulded plug incorporating a fuse, the value of which
is indicated on the pin face of the plug. Should the fuse need to be replaced, an ASTA or BSI approved BS1362
fuse must be used of the same rating. If the fuse cover is detachable never use the plug with the cover omitted.
If a replacement fuse cover is required, ensure it is of the same colour as that visible on the pin face of the plug.
Fuse covers are available from your dealer.
DO NOT cut off the mains plug from this equipment. If the plug fitted is not suitable for the power points in your
home or the cable is too short to reach a power point, then obtain an appropriate safety approved extension lead
or consult your dealer.
Should it be necessary to change the mains plug, this must be carried out by a competent person, preferably a
qualified electrician.
If there is no alternative to cutting off the mains plug, ensure that you dispose of it immediately, having first
removed the fuse, to avoid a possible shock hazard by inadvertent connection to the mains supply.
IMPORTANT
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
Blue : NEUTRAL
Brown : LIVE
As these colours may not correspond to the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as
follows:
The wire coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter N or coloured BLUE or
BLACK. The wire coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter L or coloured
BROWN or RED.
On no account connect either of these wires to the terminal marked E or by the earth symbol or coloured
green or green and yellow.
Alternatively, this equipment may be supplied with a rewireable plug already fitted, which may be removed if not
suitable and an alternative fitted in accordance with the preceding instructions.

FOR SAFE AND EFFICIENT OPERATION
• Do not damage the mains lead
• When not in use, disconnect the mains lead from the outlet. Grasp the plug, not the mains lead, when
disconnecting the unit.
• If water should enter the unit, electrical shock or malfunction may result. Use in an area where there is low
humidity and little dust.
• Do not disassemble or alter the unit in any way.
• Do not use the unit in areas where extremes in temperature occur (below 5
o
C or exceeding 35
o
C), or
where it may be exposed to direct sunlight.
• Because of the CD playerís extremely low noise and wide dynamic range, there is a tendency to set the
volume on the amplifier high than necessary. Doing so may produce an excessively high output from the
amplifier which can cause damage to your speakers. Please be careful in this regard.
• Sudden changes in the surrounding temperature can cause dew to form on the optical pickup lens inside
the unit. Under this condition the unit may be unable to operate properly. If this should occur, remove the
disc and allow the player to adjust to the surrounding temperature.
• This unit must be operated in a horizontal position.
• Do not install this equipment in a confined space, such as a book case or built in cabinet .
• The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing.

SPEAKERS CONNECTIONS
• Connect the right speaker to terminal R, with the red wire to + and the black wire to - .
• Connect the left speaker to terminal L, with the red wire to + and the black wire to - .
• Clip the blank portion of wire as shown below
MAINS CONNECTION
• Make sure that all the components and speakers are connected correctly.
• Check that the rated voltage of your unit matches your local voltage.
• Plug the AC power cord into an AC outlet.
Headphones
Be sure your headphone has 3.5mm diameter stereo plug, with an impedance of 32 Ohms.
When headphone is connected, the speakers will automatically mute. Adjust the volume control to the desired
level.
PRESET - EQ EFFECTS
The quality of tone can be adjusted by the preset sound equalizer which has been set into 5 modes ( PASS,
CLASSIC, ROCK, POP, JAZZ ). By pressing the corresponding sound preset button you can choose one of
your favorite mode according to you music style.

REMOTE CONTROL TRANSMITTER
Control Functions
Battery Installation
The remote control requires 2 x AAA batteries.
Button Description
1. MUTE - To interrupt or resume reproduction.
2. Number Button - To start playback from the desired track.
• Press the numbered button and 10 button on the remote control to select a
track.
Example:
• To select the 10th track, press 1 and 0.
• To select the 35 th track, press 3 and 5.
3. PLAY / PAUSE - To start or interrupt CD playback.
4. Tuning / Skip - To select a Higer tuner ( In TUNER mode)
To select next CD track.
5. STOP - To stop CD playback.
6. FIND / ESP / - FIND: Searching through MP3 tracks/files/albums/folders
ST.MO. - ESP : Electronic shock protection
- ST.MO.: For FM station to select the STEREO or MONO mode.
7. RANDOM - To enable RANDOM play for CD.
8. REPEAT - To repeat one track or the whole CD continuously.
9. VOLUME - To adjust the volume
10. PRESET - In Tuner mode, press to select the preset station in order.
11. TIMER - To set the TIMER.
12. SLEEP - To activate the sleep function.
13. TUNING / SKIP - To select a lower tuner (In TUNER mode)
To select previous CD track.
14. BAND To select the AM / FM mode.
15. MEMORY - Press to enable program state for Tuner or CD.
16. PRESET EQ - To select sound control: PASS;CLASSIC; ROCK; POP;JAZZ.
17. PRESET - In Tuner mode, press to select the preset station in order.
18. FUNCTION - To select the respective sound source for CD / TUNER / TAPE.
19. ON / STANDBY - To switch the unit on or standby mode.

LISTENING TO RADIO
Manual tuning
1. Press FUNCTION button to select TUNER mode.
2. Press BAND button to the desired band.
a) For FM Stereo reception:
The unit provides FM MONO/STEREO selector in Stereo mode, the unit will automatically switch to
stereo when an FM stereo broadcast is received and stereo mark turn on in the display.
b) For FM MONAURAL (MONO) reception:
To receive weak (noisy) FM station, to set FM MONO/STEREO selector to MONO position. The
reception may be improved, but the sound is monaural (MONO).
3. Press the up/ key or DOWN / softly to execute 1 step / 1 push tuning.
Auto tuning
1. Follow step 1, 2 of “MANUAL TUNING”.
2. Press UP / or DOWN / button
continuously to start the automatic tuning.
3. To terminate auto tuning, press the UP
/ or DOWN button again.
Preset stations
This unit is equipped with 10 preset station memories for each wave band. When stations are memorised, they
can be easily accessed by pressing the preset station buttons.
1. Press the BAND button to select the desired band.
2. Your desired station can be received by ìMANUAL TUNINGî or ìAUTO TUNINGî.
3. Press the MEMORY Button, to enable program state.
4. Press the PRESET / PRESET button, to adjust preset station number.
5. Frequency is written in the preset memory by pushing MEMORY Button once again.
6. Repeat step 2 to step 5 to enter additional channels into program.
7. To return normal tuner mode, press TUNING button.
• REMARKS: There are 5 seconds for PROGRAM state. After 5 sec, this state would release automatically.
Calling the preset stations
Press the PRESET / PRESET key to select the preset station in order.
PLAYING COMPACT DISC
Getting Start
• Press FUNCTION button to select CD mode.
Open the CD compartment.
Put a CD into the compartment and close the CD door
• The total tracks will appear in the display. (If an MP3 CD
is inserted, the total albums / folders will appear at the top
middle also.)
NOTE: This CD player is designed to play all kinds of Audio
Discs and MP3 CD ROMS, such as CD recordables
and rewritables.
Do not try to play CDI, CDV, DVD, or computer CDs.

CHANGING THE DISPLAY
During playback of an MP3 CD, press the FIND button to cycle the display as follows:
1st Press: The file name will appear.
2nd Press: The folder name will appear.
3rd Press: The display will revert back to normal.
During playback, press and hold the FIND button and the MP3 information will scroll across the display.
Press and hold the FIND button again and the display will revert back to normal.
CD PLAYBACK NOTES:
• When recording (“ burning”) CDs, make sure the session is “finalized”, or simply record (“burn”) only one
session. You can find more information on “finalizing” in your CD recorder’s manual.
• This unit is capable of playing standard CDs or 3 singles; no adapter is required.
• If disc is inserted incorrectly, dirty, damaged or not present at all, “NO DISC” will appear in the display.
• Playback will stop when you open the CD compartment, but it is not recommended to open the compartment
before the STOP( ) button is pressed.
• It may take 10 to 30 seconds for the player to read an MP3 CD and begin playback, depending on the
number of tracks “burned” on the CD.
• REPEAT PLAYBACK
Press the REPEAT button before or during play. A single track or all the tracks can repeated.
Each press switches the repeat mode.
• RANDOM PLAYBACK (USING THE REMOTE CONTROL)
1. Press RANDOM button to select random mode, random indicator appears on display.
2. To cancel the RANDOM mode, press the RANDOM button again.
• ANTI SHOCK FUNCTION (ESP)
If in use, the player is likely to receive shocks or vibrations, press the “ESP” button to provide uninterrupted playback.
– The ESP (ANTI-SHOCK) function will be activated automatically during the playback od CD or MP3 playback.
– With MP3 disc the ESP function is always on and cannot be disabled.
– Press “FIND/ESP” on the unit to disable the ESP function during normal CD playback.
PROGRAMMED PLAYBACK
The CD player in this unit has a 64 track programmable memory that allows you to program up to 64 tracks on
any disc for playback in any desired order. You may program 64 different tracks or you may also program certain
tracks to play more than once.
To perform programmed playback, stop the disc and proceed as follows:
1. Press the MEMORY button, Program Number and track will
appear and “MEMORY” will blink in the display.
2. Press the SKIP or button to select the first track that
you wish to program.
When the desired track number appears in the display, press
the MEMORY.
Button again. The display will then show, “P-02” indicating
program 2 is ready to be set.
MP3: If using a MP3 disc, see note below.
3. After programming up to 64 tracks in the CD program Memory,
press the PLAY / PAUSE button to begin programmed play back, “MEMORY” will appear in the
display and playback will begin on the first track that you programmed. The player will continue to play all
of the tracks that you programmed in the order in which you programmed then.

NOTES ON PROGRAMMED PLAYBACK:
• MP3 PROGRAM: If an MP3 CD is inserted, you will first select the directory number in step 1, and then
the file.
•You can review the program by pressing the MEMORY button when playback is stopped.
•You can change tracks in a program by simply selecting the desired track using the MEMORY button, and
then use the SKIP/Search or button to change it .
• Press the STOP button to stop the program before it is finished.
• Each file may be stored in the program memory as many times as desired (up to 64 files).
•You can scroll through the program while it is playing using the SKIP/Search or button.
You can repeat all programmed tracks endlessly by this function.
1. Follow step 1 to step 3 in program play.
2. Press REPEAT button.
3. To cancel repeat play, press the REPEAT button again.
To check the program
Press the MEMORY button during stop mode. The track numbers are displayed in programmed order.
To erase the program
Press the MEMORY button and the STOP button at the same time during stop mode. Opening the disc
compartment also erases the contents of program memory.
General operation
PLAY / PAUSE button Press once to start PLAY. Press once again to stop the disc play temporarily.
When CD player is paused, display is blinking.
STOP button Press to stop play.
SKIP button Press once to skip to next track or back to previous track .
UP / and Press continuously to execute REW / F.F., released to terminate REW /
DOWN / F.F.
SEARCHING THROUGH MP3 TRACKS / FILES
You can search the contents of the MP3 albums ( If burned on CD) as follows:
1. Press the FIND button once and the track / file starting with the letter “A” will appear in the display.
2. Press the SKIP or button to scroll through the letters and numbers to locate a specific track / file.
3. When the desired track / file appears, press the PLAY / PAUSE button to play the track / file.
SEARCHING THROUGH MP3 ALBUMS / FOLDERS
1. Press the FIND button twice and first album / folder name and number will appear in the display.
2. Press the SKIP or button to scroll through the albums / folders and numbers to locate a
specific album folder.
3. When the desired album / folder appears, press the PLAY / PAUSE button to play the first track / file
of the album / folder.
NOTE: When scrolling through track / files or albums / folders, if there is no name or contents, “NONE”
will appear in the display.

SINGLE SESSION
The following chart is an example of a Windows Explorer display that will appear on your computer monitor for
a single session MP3 CD ROM with Folders / Albums. Check the added notes to help you understand the MP3
CD unit display and the playback sequence of folders/albums and tracks on a single session MP3 CD.
• The arrow pathway shows the sequence of MP3 directory and file playback.
• This example has a total of seven MP3 directories.
• Based on this layout, the first file will be”Blur01.mp3” and the last file will be”Twain 15.mp3”.
• When the MP3 CD is inserted into the CD player, the first digit in the display will be the folders, and the
second digit will be the total number of tracks.
• “Skipped” denotes a directory which contains non-audio files only, e.g. jpg, wav, etc. These cannot be
detected nor played on this player. When an album contains mixed format files, the non-MP3 files will be
skipped.
NOTE: For CDR/CDRW/MP3 users, depending on the type of CD burmer, on the disc brand, the buring speed
and the MP3 compression level, some reading problems may occur.

CLOCK SETTING (IN STANDBY MODE)
• All the time information is shown in either 12h or 24h foramt.
1. Pressing and holding the MEMORY / TIME SET button for some seconds will access the time format
change mode.
2. Press TUNING / SKIP / button to select 12h or 24h format.
3. Press MEMORY / TIME SET button. hour digit will flash.
Press TUNING / SKIP (Forward) (Backward) button to set the hour.
4. Press MEMORY / TIME SET button. minute digit will flash.
Press TUNING / SKIP (Forward) (Backward) button to set the minute.
5. Press MEMORY / TIME SET button once more, flashing stops and the time is set.
SETTING THE TIMER
• The system can switch on to TUNER or CD mode automatically at a preset time. It can serve as an alarm
to wake you up.
After one hour from the preset time, the system will return to the standby mode.
• Before setting the timer, make sure the clock is set correctly.
Timer setting
1. Press and hold TIMER button a few seconds.
– Hour digit will flash, press or button to set the hour.
2. Press TIMER button again, minute digit will flash, press or button to set the minute.
3. Press TIMER button to store the start time.
4. Repeat the step 1 to 3 store the off time.
5. Press TIMER button again, “TUNER” digit will flash, press or button to select TUNER or CD
mode.
6. Press TIMER button again, “VOLUME” digit will flash, press or button to adjust volume.
7. Press TIMER button again to store the times setting..
8. Press power to turn the unit off.
The TIMER flag is lighting up now.
To stop the TIMER
• Press TIMER and the TIMER symbol will disappear from the display.
– The timer is now switched off.
Sleep setting
This timer turns power to your system off at the set time.
• When enjoying the desired source, press SLEEP to select the desired time.
• Each time you press the button; it changes the number of minutes shown on the display in this sequence:
•To cancel the sleep timer, press the SLEEP button once and ìSLEEPî will go out in the display.

LISTENING TO TAPE
General operation
STOP / EJECT key Press to stop all deck operation. Press again to open the cassette door.
Fast Forward key & Press to start rapid tape winding in either
Fast Rewind key forward or reverse direction. Press STOP / EJECT keys when the cassette spools
stop tuning.
PLAY key Press to start playing a tape.
PAUSE key Press to temporarily stop tape operation. Press again to resume tape operation.
RECORD key Press together with PLAY key to start recording.
Playback
• Press FUNCTION button to select TAPE mode.
• Put in your cassette tape.
• Press PLAY key to activate playback.
• Adjust the volume control to the desired level.
• Use PAUSE key when you want to stop playback temporarily.
• Press STOP / EJECT key when finished.
Recording
A. RECORDING FROM RADIO
• Press FUNCTION button to select TUNER mode.
Tune in your station and put in your cassette tape.
• Press RECORD key and the PLAY key of deck at the same time to start recording.
• Press STOP / EJECT key when finished.
B. RECORDING FROM CD
• Press the FUNCTION button to select CD mode.
• Insert a cassette suitable for recording, press PAUSE key then press RECORD key. Recording function
will be on stand by.
• Activate the CD player, and then press (to release) PAUSE key to start recording.
•To stop recording, first press STOP button on CD player – then press the STOP / EJECT key on tape
deck.
