Mounting instructions
1
Lift the car so the rear wheels are clear of
the ground. Make sure it´s steadily fixed so
it will not fall down.
2
Remove the wheel and loosen the lower
shock absorber mounting bolt and the two
nuts holding the top mount.
3
Remove the standard shock absorber by
compressing it slightly so it goes free from
the lower link.
4
Remove the top mount with rubber bush-
ings from the shock absorber and fit it to
the Öhlins shock absorber. The top mount
should be located between the support ring
(05915-01) and the washer (05921-01)(Pos
4 and 2 in the Spare Parts Manual). The
spring is seated against the bottom of the
top mount.
CAUTION!
Avoid the use of an impact wrench when remov-
ing the top mount from the shock absorber, since
this can cause the piston nut to loosen from the
piston shaft.
5
Check the marking on the Öhlins shock
absorbers to locate left or right rear
CAUTION!
The shock absorber shall be mounted with the
reservoir towards the rear and the lower bracket
offset towards the wheel. The reservoir is then
offset towards the centre of the car.
6
Fit the shock absorber to the car. Reduce
the spring preload so the shock absorber
can be compressed to get it in position. Re-
adjust the spring preload when the shock
absorber is fixed to the car.
7
Continue your work accordning to Owners
manual, section adjustments.
