standard insulator for all shipments starting in 2015. The connectors form, fit and function are the same,

and the material change to a high-temp plastic actually represents an upgrade for most customers. The 3M

part numbers will remain the same in order for end-users to maintain their bills of materials and drawings.

2. Latches

3M is standardizing on metal roll-pin latches for all Latch/Eject Headers starting in 2015. These represent

the majority of products currently shipped from the factory. Consistent with the header insulator material

and color change explained above, roll-pin latches will be made of glass-filled polyester (PCT) colored

black. Part numbers will change:



Snap-in latches can still be ordered, however these will not be inserted at the factory and customers

choosing this style will need to make their own arrangements to assemble them. 3M will continue to offer

unlatched headers. Distributors will need to order against new SKUs and UPCs to ensure uninterrupted

supply. Refer to Appendix 1 for full product ordering information.

b. February 10, 2015 and after: the black PCT versions (assembled with roll-pin latches as appropriate)

become the standard and orders must be placed using the new SKUs to avoid interruption in supply.
