Removing people from a conference call
You can connect up to eight people together in a conference call. You can include in a conference call anybody that
you are normally able to place calls to, including internal & external numbers, mobile phones, and, if you are
normally allowed to dial them, international numbers.
Making a Conference Call
You must select one person to be the dialler for your conference session. This person will be calling ALL participants
having more than one person bringing callers into a conference makes the call less stable. The dialler should place
the first call like a normal phone call.
Press the button under New Call then dial the required number. Remember to press 9 for an outside line.
To bring other people into the call:
Press the button underneath Conference.
Dial The Number of the Person you would like to Add. This will place the original call on hold and dial the
new number.
Once you are ready to conference the calls, press the Conference softkey - this will merge the calls.
Using the swap function
While you are announcing a conference call to the next person to join, you have the option to switch between the
new participant and the rest of the group. For example, somebody you have dialled might ask if it would be
appropriate for another person to listen in to the call on speaker; you can then agree this with the rest of the
participants before completing the call. To switch between the existing conference call and the new addition to the
group, press the Swap softkey.
Cancelling a conference dial
If you attempt to bring somebody into a conference call but they are unavailable, you will need to terminate that call
and then re-join the conference. There are two methods for doing this depending on whether the call has been
answered or not:
If the call has not been answered: press the Cancel softkey to cancel a conference dial when the phone is still
ringing.
If the call has been answered: press the End Call softkey to cancel a conference dial which has been answered
or has gone to voicemail.
When you have cancelled a conference dial, the conference call will remain on hold for you. To re-enter the
conference, you will need to press the Resume softkey.
You will also need to resume the call if the person you tried to add has hung up.
Leaving a conference call
Anybody including the dialler can leave a conference call at any time by hanging up the phone. If they wish to re-
join, they will then have to be added back in by a member of the group.
The conference call will end when the last person leaves the call.
Viewing a list of participants
Pressing the Details softkey during a conference call will bring up a list of the active participants.
Removing people from a conference call
The dialler has the option to remove people from a conference call.
Press the Details softkey to bring up a list of participants.
Use the navigation bar to highlight the name or number of the person you wish to remove.
Press the Remove softkey.
