1 Introduction
This guide is designed to assist you throughout the installation of
PIMA Wireless
AlarmView
Wireless Intruder Alarm System, with the Visual Verification capability.
PIMA Wireless
products currently include the Guardian alarm system and the AVR visual add-on,
as well as their various peripherals. These systems are easy to install, plug-n-play, and provide
wireless intruder alarm capabilities, with or without visual-verification & optional remote Look-in,
with a built-in GPRS/GSM communication modem.
Suitable for residential and small business applications, they present a comprehensive solution for
security and personal safety.
The AlarmView’s unique offering is in its ability to incorporate SmartView PIR detectors/Cameras,
that combine movement detection and image capturing, as well as OutView cameras and a wide
range of regular detectors, providing a comprehensive Security and Personal safety solution.
Upon an alarm event, both the event and images are transmitted wirelessly to the system’s
Control Panel; the event code + 3 images are sent over GPRS/GSM network, directly to the
Monitoring Station and optionally to the users mobile phone.

Visual zone detectors: the SmartView supervised wireless PIR motion detectors are composed
of two types, that are combined with high-quality color cameras:
SmartView: high quality rapid acquisition camera, with PIR detector.
OutView: highly resistant outdoor camera, with trigger input from external sources,
e.g., detectors, door bell, etc.
Wireless detectors: the AlarmView system supports a wide range of wireless detectors,
including door contacts, PIR and Pet-immune motion detectors, Smoke detectors, etc.
Sirens: the Control Panel has a built-in siren; an external wireless siren and strobe, or third
party standalone DC siren with trigger activation, can also be installed.
Key fobs/Remote controls: these can be used to arm/disarm the system.
Panic/Medical pendant/Wrist watch: the AlarmView system can be used to transmit visual
enhanced medical emergency and duress alerts, using a wrist transmitter and/or

3 System Installation
3.1 Inserting the SIM card
Don’t use PIN code SIM cards
Before inserting the card, ensure that the system power is OFF.
To insert the SIM card:
1. Slide down, open and gently lift the SIM card holder, on the back side of
the Control Panel.
2. Insert the SIM card into the holder with the card’s metal contacts
facing down.
3. Lower the SIM card holder and close it - make sure the SIM card is
properly aligned and locked in its place.
3.2 Connecting the backup battery
To connect the backup battery:
1. Unscrew and remove the battery cover from the back cover
2. Connect the battery wires’ connector to its designated terminal
3. Close the battery cover and fasten the screw.
3: System Installation
AlarmView Installation Guide
15
3.3 Mounting the Control Panel
After powering up the system it is recommended that you test the system’s wireless and GSM
reception levels prior to mounting the unit on the wall.
To mount the Control Panel:
1. Drill the two holes corresponding to the two elliptical mounting holes.
2. Insert masonry anchors into the drilled holes.
3. Fasten the screws to the masonry anchors, leaving a
space of about 5mm between the screw heads and wall.
4. Align the two screw heads with the two corresponding
elliptical mounting holes and slide it down as far as the
screw head will allow (about 10mm).
3.4 Mounting the backplate
To mount the backplate:
1. Using a Philips screwdriver, remove the two screws at the
bottom of the Control Panel.
2. Insert a flat head screwdriver into the opening notch,
below the location of the screws, and apply gentle pressure
to release the closure clasp and open the cover.
3. Lift and remove the top cover.
4. Remove the plastic circuit board holder from the back
cover, by applying gentle pressure on the clasps located on
both sides of it, and pull away carefully.
5. Drill six mounting holes as well (and one for a tamper, if
installed; see the next sub-section).
6. Insert masonry anchors into the drilled holes.
3: System Installation
16
AlarmView Installation Guide
3.4.1 Back tamper (order option)
1. If a tamper is installed, drill another hole for the tamper’s
knockout4.
2. When closing the panel, make sure the back tamper button
is pressed against the backplate’s tamper pin.
The Tamper is an order option and is only available if specified in the original order.
3.5 Connecting external antenna (order option)
The Control Panel has an internal GSM antenna; however, you can
add an external antenna for a better GSM reception. Note that this
option is only available, when the AlarmView is preordered with the
external antenna base installed.
To connect an external antenna, place its connector on the antenna
base, on top of the Control Panel and rotate it clockwise until secured.
3.6 Connecting the AC adapter
Do not plug the AC adapter into the outlet, before connecting the transformer
cable to the Control Panel.
To connect the power source:
1. Pull and remove the wiring protector from the back cover.
2. Insert the power adapter cable into the power jack.
3. Plug the transformer into the AC outlet. Make sure the
green LED power indicator on the front side of the
Control panel is illuminated and the LCD displays the
startup screen.
4 When the control panel is forcibly removed from the wall, the knockout breaks and the tamper is activated.

3.7 Connecting standalone wired siren
The Control Panel has an internal siren built-in; you can also connect an external wired and or
wireless siren/strobe to it. To connect a wired siren/strobe:
1. Thread the siren’s wires through the opening in the back plate.
2. Connect the siren’s (-) to the PGM terminal.
3. Connect the siren’s (COM) to the COM terminal and the Control Panel’s (-).
4. Connect the siren’s (+) to an external power source
Figure 6. External siren wiring scheme
The external siren current consumption should not exceed 500mA
3.8 Closing the Control Panel
To close the Control Panel in order to complete the installation, follow the next steps:
1. Insert the plastic circuit board enclosure, by
gently pressing it into place.
2. Attach the front panel to the Control Panel and
push down the two clasps located on both sides
of it, until you hear an audible press.
3. Press the two parts one against each other on
the lower side, until locked.
4. Using a Philips screwdriver, replace the two
screws and tighten them at the bottom of the
Control Panel.
5. Connect the transformer to the Control Panel.

4 Setup and Programming
4.1 Overview
The AlarmView system has two menus: Installer, and Master user. Each menu contains its own
parameters to program and has its own password.
Full programming and parameter change can also be done remotely, by the Monitoring Station
operator, using PIMA’s remote access Programming Utility software.
Depending on the action required, some menus are accessible to both the master and installer
while others are exclusive to either one or the other.
