IMPORTANT!
During functioning in heat pump heating mode, the unit performs defrost cycles to eliminate any ice that might form at low temperatures
inside the outdoor unit.
During defrosting, the indoor fan is automatically switched off and does not start up again until defrosting has been completed.
Instructions for high comfort,
low consumption operation
For maximum comfort and minimum consumption
Maintain the room at a comfortable temperature
(see fig. 1).
Avoid opening doors and windows more than necessary
(see fig. 2).
Do not obstruct the indoor unit’s intakes or outlets. This not
only reduces efficiency by reducing the air flow, but can also
lead to the malfunction
(see fig. 3).
When using the appliance in cooling mode, try to prevent
direct sunlight from heating up the room. Draw the curtains
(see fig. 4).
Have the filter cleaned by qualified personnel. Make sure that
it is replaced correctly inside the appliance (
see fig. 5 and
Table II).
Periodically clean the intake grille and the area around the outdoor
unit to maintain correct air flow (see fig. 6).
If you are not going to use the appliance for an extended period of
time, carefully follow the instructions below.
Clean the indoor unit and the area around it.
Operate the appliance in ventilation mode for half a day to dry the
inside of the unit
(see fig. 7).
Switch the appliance off and then disconnect it from the mains

Maintenance,
Trouble - shooting
and
disposal
Warning!
The appliance must be maintained and cleaned internally
only by qualified personnel.
Always disconnect the appliance from the mains supply
before starting any maintenance work and before accessing
any internal components.
Perform the various cleaning and maintenance operations at the
intervals specified in the following table.
Table II: Scheduled maintenance
Indoor unit Every month Every 4 months Every year
Clean the air filter (1)
Clean the condensate drain pipe (1)
Change the batteries in the infra-red remote control (if present)
Perform the above maintenance operations at least at the intervals specified to keep the appliance functioning efficiently.
Maintenance intervals should obviously be adapted to the conditions of each installation, e.g. the amount of dust in the atmosphere etc..
(1) These operations must be performed only by qualified personnel. See the relevant “Installation Manual”.
Trouble-shooting
(any subsequent maintenance must be
performed only by qualified personnel)
The air conditioner fails to start:
The main switch is turned off. Turn the switch ON.
The fuses in the main switch have burned out. Change the fuses.
Wait three minutes. The compressor start-up delay has not
finished.
The temperature setting is higher than the actual room temperatu-
re in cooling mode, or lower than it in heating mode (so the
thermostat does not request functioning).
Check that the condensate pump (if fitted) is not in alarm state
and that the level of water in the condensate bowl is not too high.
Very poor air conditioning efficiency:
The air flow to or from the indoor or outdoor unit is obstructed.
The air filter is dirty and is restricting the air flow. The filter must
be cleaned only by qualified personnel.
A door or window is open.
Fan speed is on a low setting.
The temperature setting is not suitable.
Mist comes out of the unit:
This can occur when the appliance is functioning in cooling mode.
It is caused by cold air from the air conditioner coming into
contact with warm, humid air in the room.
The air conditioner whistles briefly when it is switched on or off:
This is caused by the coolant starting to circulate and pressure
equalising inside the coolant circuit. It is normal and stops quickly.
The unit emits an unpleasant smell:
Unpleasant smells can build up in the indoor unit’s air filter and be
blown into the room when the appliance is functioning.
Switch the appliance off and call an authorised service centre to
have the filters changed.
Re-start the appliance in ventilation mode and open the windows
to change the air.
Disposal
The coolant in the appliance must be recovered and disposed of by
qualified personnel before the appliance itself can be disposed of.
At the end of the appliance’s useful life, have the appliance and all
its components processed and disposed of by a proper disposal
service.
