Maintaining the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette Filter
To maintain the best performance, we recommend that you wash the Dust Manager
Cyclonic Cassette lter every month or as soon as you notice a drop in performance.
1. Shake out the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette to remove large dirt and debris
as described in “Empty the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette”.
2. Brush the inside of the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette to remove the fine dust
that may have formed on the walls of the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette. [16]
3. Push the latches to remove the bottom filter grill. [17]
4. Tap filter against bin until fine dust is removed.
5. Rinse filter under lukewarm water and agitate inner pleats, ensuring both sides
are cleaned.
6. Remove excess water with a dry cloth and leave to air dry for 24 hours or until fully dry.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE THE CLEANER WHEN FILTER ARE NOT COMPLETELY DRY.
After completing the washing and drying operations, locate the lter in its original position.
Return the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette to its original position.
Maintaining pre-motor and exhaust lter
7. To maintain best performance we recommend that you wash the lters in the cleaner
at least every month.
8. To access the lters please refer to diagram [18a, 18b].
9. Rinse both lters under hand warm water. [19,20]
10. Do not scrub the lters, use washing up liquid or place in a dishwasher.
11. Remove excess water with a dry cloth and leave to air dry for 24 hours or until fully
dry. [21]
12. After completing the washing and drying operations, locate the lters in their original
positions in the cleaner.
Removing a blockage from the system
If there is a noticeable drop in the performance see the following 2 points:
1. Check if the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette is full (If so refer to chapter “Emptying
the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette”).
2. If not full then:
a) Have you cleaned the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette lters recently?
If not please refer to the chapter “Maintaining the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette
lter”.
b) Check if there is any other blockage in the system.
• Use a rod or pole to remove any blockage from the tubes and exible hose.
• It may also be possible to remove an obstruction in the exible hose by lightly
squeezing.
WARNING - The cleaner is tted with a bag check indicator this will illuminate red if the
cleaner is used when full, if there is a blockage. Or if the lters are dirty. When the bag
check indicator is illuminated and the cleaners is used for any signicant period Of time
them a thermal cut out will activate and switch the cleaner off automatically to prevent any
overheating. Once the thermal cut out has actioned and the cleaner has switched Off the
bag check indicator lamp will turn Green to indicated This has occurred. If this happens then

IMPORTANT: Do not use the mini turbo nozzle on rugs with long fringes, animal hides and
carpet pile deeper than 15mm. Do not keep the nozzle stationary while the brush is
rotating.
USER CHECKLIST
Should you have a problem with the product, complete this simple user checklist before
calling your local Hoover service.
• Is there a working electricity supply to the cleaner? Please check with another electrical
appliance.
• Is the dust bag over-lled? Please refer to ‘Cleaner Maintenance’.
• Is the Filter blocked? Please refer to ‘Cleaning the lter’.
• Is the hose or nozzle blocked? Please refer to ‘Removing a blockage from the system’.
• Has the cleaner overheated? If so, it will take approximately 30 minutes to automatically reset.

Always replace parts with genuine Hoover spares. These are available from your local
Hoover dealer or direct from Hoover. When ordering parts always quote your model number.

Switch the cleaner off unplug and correct the fault. The thermal cut out will normally reset in
about 30 minute and the cleaner will be ok to reuse providing you have corrected any fault.
