Emergency procedures
4.1 DISENGAGING THE ELECTRIC HANDBRAKE
The vehicle is equipped with an electric handbrake: in the event of
battery failure, carry out the procedure for starting with an auxiliary
battery (next paragraph) and then release the device using the
corresponding button on the central tunnel.
To move the car in the event of a handbrake fault, it is necessary to
lift the rear of the car using suitable rollers.
IMPORTANT:
To prevent unexpected vehicle movements, do not operate directly
on the brake callipers to release the electric handbrake.
4.2 EMERGENCY STARTING
If the battery is flat, jump starting can be performed using the battery
and cables to connect to the battery of another car, or using an
auxiliary battery. Jump starting may be dangerous if carried out
incorrectly: carefully follow the procedures described in this chapter.
NOTE:
When an auxiliary battery is used, comply with the use and
precaution operative instructions specified by the manufacturer.
IMPORTANT
Do not use the booster battery or any other source of external
supply with voltage above 12 V: the battery, the starter, the
alternator and the electrical system could be damaged.
4.2.1 Preparation to jump starting
The car battery is located in the front part of the engine
compartment behind the left headlight assembly.
