The AD2 4-Bay Communications Dock is an accessory for the CK30 Handheld Computer.
You can use the AD2 to:
power four CK30s at one time.
charge four AB1 batteries while in CK30s.
transfer data and applications using RS-232 serial communications.
transfer data and applications through a 10BaseT/100BaseTx Ethernet connection
(CK30A only).
This guide explains how to install and use the AD2. Before using the AD2, please read this
guide thoroughly and retain it for future reference.
What You Need
To use the AD2, you need:
an AC power supply (P/N 073573).
an AC power cord.
You need to purchase the appropriate power cord for your location. For more
information, contact your Intermec sales representative.

Connect the AC power supply to the power connector on the back of the AD2.
Connect the power supply to an AC power outlet. The yellow Power light turns on,
showing that the AD2 is ready to charge a battery in a CK30. The AD2 fully charges
the battery in about 5 hours.
(Optional) Connect one or more of the following communications cables:
RS-232 serial cable
10BaseT/100BaseTx Ethernet cable (only the CK30A connects to Ethernet)

Understanding the Lights
Installing the AD2
If you have attached a communications cable, you need to configure the CK30 to
communicate through the port you have connected. The following table
provides a list of parameters you need to set for each type of port. Ask your
network administrator for the parameter values you should set. For help
configuring the CK30, see the CK30 Handheld Computer User’s Manual (P/N 073528).
Configuring the CK30
Place the AD2 on a flat, stable, and clean surface that is within 1.5 m (5 feet) of an
AC outlet.

To configure the CK30
Press the Power (I) key to turn on the CK30.
Press the green C key, and then press the orange B key to enter the
Intermec CK30 System Main Menu.
If prompted for a password, type the password, and then press Enter. The
main menu initially is not password protected.
Select the Configuration Utility and then Communications, and configure
the Ethernet parameters.
Save your changes, and exit the configuration menu.
Press and hold the Power key for 5 seconds to warm boot the CK30.

Make sure the charging pins on the AD2 and
the battery contacts on the AB1 are clean.

The AD2 is not receiving power. Make sure the
power supply is connected properly.
The AD2 is connected to AC power and is ready to
charge.
