Important Safety Instructions
Read and understand tool instruction manual before attempting
repairs.
Use only genuine D
E
WALT replacement parts.
Always wear ANSI compliant eye protection.
Disconnect air from tool and remove all nails before servicing.
Always point tool in safe direction when reconnecting air supply.
CAUTIONS:
Do not allow dirt, dust or other foreign materials to enter the tool.
Be careful not to scratch or damage the O-rings or any internal
surfaces.
TO REPLACE PISTON/DRIVER ASSEMBLY
1. Disconnect air from tool before servicing or repairing.
2. Remove all nails from the magazine and nosepiece before servic-
ing or repairing.
3. Remove 4 screws from top cap (A) with the 4mm Allen wrench
provided with tool (Fig. 1).
4. Remove piston/driver subassembly (B), cylinder (C), bumper (D),
bumper plate (E) and bulkhead (F) from tool (Fig. 2).
5. Remove bumper plate (E) by pulling sideways (Fig. 3).
6. Remove piston/driver subassembly (B) from cylinder.
7. Place piston O-ring (G) on piston/driver subassembly (Fig. 4).
8. Apply grease provided to O-ring prior to assembly.
9. Ensure the inside of the tool is free from dirt and debris.
10. Place piston/driver subassembly (B) back into cylinder (C).
11. Place bumper (D) onto bottom of cylinder.
12. Spread bumper plate (E) enough to slip onto piston/driver
subassembly (B) and press into the bottom of the bumper (D).
13. Place cylinder assembly back into frame housing, pressing bulk-
head firmly into position (Fig. 5).
14. Place the top gasket (H) between the top cap and frame (Fig. 6).
15. Replace top cap and fasten 4 screws with a 4mm Allen wrench.
16. Tighten screws snugly to prevent leaks.
17. Ensure trigger and contact trip are working smoothly.
18. Set pressure on compressor or air line at 80 psi.
19. Pointing tool in safe direction, connect tool to air supply. Tool must
not leak air.
20. Check for proper operation of tool. If tool continues to leak air or if
problems persist, take nailer to a D
EWALT service center.
21. If warning labels are missing or damaged, request replacements
from a D
EWALT service center.

POUR CHANGER L’ENSEMBLE PISTON/ENFONCEUR
1. Débrancher l’outil du circuit d’alimentation en air avant d’effectuer
les opérations d’entretien ou de réparation.
2. Retirer tous les clous du chargeur et de l’embout avant d’effectuer
les opérations d’entretien ou de réparation.
3. Retirer les 4 vis du capuchon (A) à l’aide de la clé Allen de 4 mm
fournie avec l’outil (Fig. 1).
4. Retirer le sous-ensemble piston/enfonceur (B), le cylindre (C), la
butée (D), la plaque de butée (E) et le boîtier (F) de l’outil (Fig. 2).
5. Retirer la plaque de butée (E) en la tirant de côté (Fig. 3).
6. Retirer le sous-ensemble piston/enfonceur (B) du cylindre.
7. Mettre le joint torique du piston (G) sur le sous-ensemble
piston/enfonceur (Fig. 4).
8. Appliquer la graisse fournie à cet effet sur le joint torique avant de
réassembler le tout.

9. S’assurer qu’il n’y a ni débris ni poussière à l’intérieur de l’outil.
10. Remettre le sous-ensemble piston/enfonceur (B) dans le
cylindre (C).
11. Placer la butée (D) au fond du cylindre.
12. Étaler la plaque de butée (E) assez pour couvrir le sous-ensemble
piston/enfonceur (B) et la presser au fond de la butée (D).
13. Remettre l’ensemble du cylindre dans le châssis, en appuyant
fermement sur le boîtier pour le mettre en place (Fig. 5).
14. Installer la garniture du capuchon (H) entre ce dernier et le
châssis (Fig. 6).
15. Remettre le capuchon et serrer les 4 vis à l’aide de la clé Allen de
4 mm.
16. Serrer fermement les vis afin de prévenir les fuites.
17. S’assurer que la gâchette et le déclencheur par contact fonction-
nent bien.
18. Régler la pression du compresseur ou du circuit d’alimentation en
air à 5,6 kgs/cm
2
(80 lb/po
2
).
19. Pointer l’outil dans une direction sécuritaire, puis le raccorder au
circuit d’alimentation en air; l’outil ne doit présenter aucune fuite
d’air.
20. S’assurer que l’outil fonctionne correctement. En présence d’une
fuite d’air ou d’un problème quelconque, apporter l’outil à un cen-
tre de service D
EWALT.
21. En cas de perte ou d’endommagement des étiquettes d’avertisse-
ment, communiquer avec un centre de service D
EWALT afin d’en
obtenir de nouvelles sans frais.

Desconecte la toma de aire de la herramienta y retire todos los

PRECAUCIÓNES:
No permita que le entre tierra, polvo u otro material ajeno a la

PARA CAMBIAR LA UNIDAD DE PISTÓN Y GUÍA
1. Desconecte la toma de aire de la herramienta antes de repararla
2. Retire todos los clavos del cargador y la tobera antes de repararla.
3. Retire los 4 tornillos del extremo superior (A) con la llave Allen de
4 mm incluida con la herramienta (Fig. 1).
4. Retire la unidad del pistón y guía (B), el cilindro (C), paragolpe (D),
placa del paragolpe (E) y mamparo (F) de la herramienta (Fig. 2).
5. Retire la placa del paragolpe (E) tirando de ella hacia un lado
(Fig. 3).

6. Retire la unidad de pistón y guía (B) del cilindro.
7. Pinga el anillo tórico del pistón (G) en la unidad de pistón y guía
(Fig. 4).
8. Aplique la grasa proporcionada al anillo tórico antes de ensamblar.
9. Asegúrese que el interior de la herramienta se encuentre libre de
tierra y desechos.
10. Vuelva a poner la unidad del pistón y guía (B) en el cilindro (C).
11. Ponga el paragolpe (D) en la parte de abajo del cilindro.
12. Abrir la placa del paragolpe (E) lo suficiente como para poner en
la unidad del pistón y guía (B) y presionar para insertar en la parte
de abajo del paragolpe (D).
13. Vuelva a poner la unidad del cilindro en la caja del marco, presio-
nando el mamparo firmemente en su lugar (Fig. 5).
14. Coloque la junta del extremo superior (H) entre el extremo supe-
rior y el marco (Fig. 6).
15. Vuelva a poner el extremo superior en su lugar y ajuste los 4 tornil-
los con una llave Allen de 4 mm.
16. Ajuste los tornillos bien para evitar fugas.
17. Asegúrese que el gatillo y el activador por contacto estén funcio-
nando bien.
18. Ponga la presión del compresor o la línea de aire en 5,6 kgs/cm
2
(80 psi).
19. Apunte la herramienta en una dirección segura y conéctela a la
toma de aire. La herramienta no deberá tener fugas.
20. Revise que la herramienta esté funcionando debidamente. Si la
herramienta sigue teniendo fugas de aire o si el problema con-
tinúa, lleve la clavadora a un centro de servicio D
EWALT.
21. Si las etiquetas de advertencia están dañadas o se han perdido,
solicite que se las cambien en el centro de servicio D
EWALT.
