Before starting the engine, read the ope-

rating instructions and note:

Warning

This symbol marks all paragraphs in

these operating instructions which con-

cern your safety. Pass all safety instruc-

tions to other users and operators.

Due Use

The hoeing and tilling equipment, in con-

junction with a hand-controlled single-

axle drive unit, is built for tilling the

ground. It is designed for an initial power

take-off shaft speed of 805 to 825 1/min.

The area to be cultivated should be nor-

mally of a size equivalent to those found

in gardening and landscaping work. (Due

use)

Any other type of operation is considered

undue. The manufacturer is not liable for

any damage resulting from undue use,

for which the risk lies with the user alo-

ne.

The hoeing and tilling equipment is not

intended for use, for example, on very

stony or rocky ground, to uproot tree

stumps or with a two-axle drive unit.

Due use includes compliance with man-

ufacturer’s instructions on operation,

maintenance and repair.

Any unauthorized changes to the stone

General Instructions on

Safety and Accident

Prevention

Basic Rule:

The standard accident prevention regu-

lations must be adhered to, as well as

all other generally accepted rules go-

verning operational safety, occupational

health and road traffic regulations.

For drives on public roads, the latest traf-

fic code applies.

Accordingly, check the machine drive for

road and operational safety each time

you take up operation.

Only persons familiar with the hoeing

drive and instructed on the hazards of

operation are allowed to use, maintain

and repair the hoeing drive.

Young persons of 16 years or younger are

not permitted to operate the hoeing drive!

Only work in good light and visibility.

Operator’s clothes should fit tightly.

Wear long pants. Wear safety shoes.

Note the warning and instruction signs

on the hoeing drive for safe operation.

Compliance is for your own safety.

When transporting the machine on ve-

hicles or trailers outside the area to be

cultivated, ensure that the engine is shut

off.

Careful with rotating tools – keep at a

safe distance!

Beware of coasting tools. Before you

start any maintenance or repair on them,

wait until tools have come to a comple-

te stop.

Foreign powered parts shear and

squeeze!

Riding on the attachment during opera-

tion is not permitted.

Implements and weights influence the

driving, steering, braking, and tip-over

characteristics of the hoeing equipment.

Therefore, ensure steering and braking

functions are sufficient. Match operating

speed to conditions.

Do not change settings of governor.

High engine speed increases risk of

accidents.

Working Area and Danger

Zone

The user is liable to third parties wor-

king within the machine’s working ran-

ge (the whole of the area to be worked

upon).

Staying in the danger zone is not per-

mitted.

Check the immediate surroundings of

the machine before you start it. Watch

out for children and animals.

Before you start work, clear the area

from any foreign object. During operati-

on, always watch out for further objects

and remove them in time.

For operation in enclosed areas, ensu-

re that a safety distance is kept to enclo-

sures to prevent damage to tools.

Operation and

Safety Devices

Before Starting the Engine

Become familiar with the devices and

operating elements and their functions.

Above all, learn how to shut off the en-

gine quickly and safely in an emergen-

cy situation.

Ensure that all protective devices are

mounted and positioned to provide pro-

tection.

With no implement mounted, make sure

PTO-shaft is covered with the protecti-

ve cap.

Starting the Engine

Do not start engine in closed rooms. The

carbon monoxide contained in the ex-

haust fume is extremely toxic when inha-

led.

Before you start the engine set all ope-

rating elements to neutral or idling posi-

tion.

For starting the engine, do not step in

front of the machine.

Do not use assist-starting liquids when

using electrical assist-starting devices

(jumper cable). Danger of explosion.

Operation

Never leave the operator’s position at

the steering handle while hoeing drive

is at work.

Never adjust the operating handles du-

ring work – danger!

For all works with the hoeing drive, in

particular for turning, the machine ope-

rator must keep the distance to the ma-

chine given by the steering handles.

Riding on the implement during opera-

tion or in transport is not permitted.

If clogging occurs in the implement, shut

off the engine and clean the implement

with an appropriate tool.

In case of damage to the hoeing drive,

immediately shut off the engine and

have it repaired.

If steering causes problems, immedia-

tely bring the hoeing drive to a halt and

turn it off. Have the malfunction remo-

ved without delay.

To prevent the hoeing drive from sliding

on slopes make sure it is secured by

another person using a bar or a rope.

This person must stay at a higher posi-

tion than the vehicle and at a safe di-

stance from the attachment at work.

If possible, always work across the slo-

pe. Only turn uphill.

End of Operation

Never leave the hoeing drive unatten-

ded with the engine running.

Before you leave the hoeing drive, shut

off the engine. Then close fuel taps.

Secure hoeing drive against unauthori-

zed use. If hoeing drive is equipped with

ignition key, remove the key. For all other

versions, remove spark plug connector.

Implements

Only mount implements with the engi-

ne and the hoeing drive shut off.

Always use appropriate tools and wear

gloves when changing implements and

parts thereof.

For mounting and dismounting imple-

ments bring stand into proper position

and ensure stability.

Secure base machine and implements

against rolling off (parking brake, wheel

chocks).

Beware of injuries while coupling imple-

ments. Work with particular care.

Hitch implements as specified and only

couple at specified points.

Secure hoeing drive against unauthori-

zed use and rolling off when you leave

the machine. If necessary, install trans-

port or security devices and secure.

Observe the advice for blocking the

overdrive as shown in the operating in-

structions for the base machine.

Hoeing Attachment

When hoeing and tilling on difficult

ground (stony, hard etc.) the machine

may give sudden jerking movements in

an upward and forward direction and

therefore extra care should be taken

under these conditions.

Adjust the hoeing guards in such a way

that only the tools that penetrate the soil

are not covered.

When hoeing, make sure the depth bar

is adjusted properly.

Maintenance

Never carry out any maintenance or cle-

aning with the engine running.

Before you work on the engine, on the

hoeing tools, or on the hoeing drive, al-

ways remove spark plug connector (only

for petrol engines).

Check regularly and, if necessary, re-

place all protecting devices and tools

subject to wear and tear.

Replace damaged hoeing tools.

Always wear safety gloves and use pro-

per tools when exchanging hoeing tools.

Keep the machine and implement cle-

an to avoid risk of fire.

Check nuts and bolts regularly for tight

fit and re-tighten, if necessary.

Ensure that you re-install all safety and

protective devices and bring them into

their protective position after mainte-

nance and cleaning.

Only use original Agria spare parts.

Storage

It is not allowed to store the base ma-

chine and the hoeing drive in rooms with

open heating.

Never park the machine in closed rooms

with fuel left in tank. Fuel vapours are

hazardous.

3.1 Attachment to the

Base Machine

 Base machine

Driving backward

 Set speed control lever to idle run.

 Pull hand lever for clutch and maintain it.

 Disconnect PTO drive.

 Set shifting lever to reverse.

 Slowly engage clutch and, at the same time,

accelerate.

With the hoeing equipment mounted, for reasons of safety, shifting to reverse

is not possible while the PTO drive is connected – first disconnect the PTO

drive, then set the shifting lever to reverse!

Upon cleaning, for reasons of

safety, the engine must be shut

down and the spark plug connec-

tor or ignition key be withdrawn.

Wear protective gloves.









4.1 Hoeing

Prior to starting working, remove

foreign objects from the area to be

worked. During working, pay atten-

tion to foreign objects, if any.

Prior to starting, check

surrounding area (chil-

dren).

5.1 Hoeing and

Tilling Drive

For all works at the

hoeing tools, the engine

must be shut down and the ig-

nition key withdrawn.

If possible, cleaning shall be

made manually, but with a suit-

able object.

Wear protective gloves!

After having cleaned the hoe-

ing tools, after a repair or re-fit-

ting, immediately mount the

protective hood again and

bring it into its protecting posi-

tion.

After 50 working hours, check all

bolts at hoeing tools and depth

bar for tight seating.

Check the transmission oil fill-

ing level at least every 50 oper-

ating hours or yearly.

 Clean control screw (1) and its

surrounding area to avoid that dirt

can enter the transmission.

 Bring hoeing drive on attach-

ment flange into an upright posi-

tion and remove locking screw (1)

– the oil level must be visible in

the opening; refill oil, if necessary.

Transmission oil change to be

made first after 50 operating

hours, then, always after 300 op-

erating hours; if possible, in warm

condition.

First, clean drain screw (1) and

its environment to avoid that dirt

enters the transmission.

Oil filling volume about 0.25 litres.

Quality as per "Specifications".

5.2 Cleaning

After the completion of the hoe-

ing and tilling work, clean hoeing

tools and depth bar with water

and spray them with bio-anticor-

rosive.

Thoroughly clean protective

hood as well and repair the paint-

ing.



4.3 Mowing on Slopes

To prevent the mower from

sliding on slopes, make sure

it is secured by another person

using a bar or a cord. This person

must be located at a higher posi-

tion than the vehicle and at a safe

distance from the attachment at

work.

For operation on banks, always

turn machine towards the slope!

Starting the engine on

slopes

 Let PTO and drive system con-

nected; braking effect.

 Engage parking brake (if exist-

ing).

 Move the hand clutch lever and

emergency-off-switch to "Start" po-

sition.

 Start the engine.

Starting, driving forward

 Disconnect PTO drive.

 Start engine 

 Set shifting lever to forward.

 Connect PTO drive.

 Release parking brake (if existing).

 Slowly engage clutch, unlock pawl and, at the

same time, accelerate.

Upon all works at the hoeing

tools, shut down engine and

withdraw spark plug connector.

If possible, cleaning shall not be

made manually but with a suitable

object.

Wear protective gloves!

After cleaning of the hoeing tools,

after repairs or re-fitting, the protec-

tive hood must immediately be

mounted again and positioned to

provide protection!

3.2 Setting the Working Width

 For setting the working width mount

and dismantle the external hoeing hubs.

 Match the width of the protective hood

to the new working width by unscrewing

the bolts (3) and the width of the flap by

unscrewing the bolts (4).

3.3 Setting the Working Depth

The working depth is set by displacing

the depth bar (A).

 Press arresting lever (B) forward.

 Displace the depth bar with the ar-

resting lever to the desired working

depth.

 Arrest the lever at the corresponding

position.

Hard ground:

Set depth bar lower for braking the hoe-

ing and tilling unit to avoid that it starts

jerking.

Soft ground:

Set depth bar high to avoid that the hoe-

ing and tilling unit excessively sinks into

the ground.

Only work with the correct

depth bar setting!

When working on enclosed areas, the safety dis-

tance to the fencing must be observed to avoid

damage to the tool.

Attention! Splashing-off parts, in particular on

stony grounds. Keep distant with running en-

gine.

Wear safety shoes.

For hoeing and tilling, dismantle the transport

wheel (11).

 Remove R-clip (13) and disk (12).

 Withdraw transport wheel downwards.
