Shimano BR-M453 is a U-brake designed for use with light alloy frames. It features a spring-force adjustment screw for fine-tuning the shoe clearance and an adjustment washer to prevent the brake from contacting the chain wheel as the brake shoes wear down. The brake shoes can be adjusted to be parallel to the rim surface, and the cable hanger is designed to provide a clearance of 90 mm between the cable carrier and the pivot boss.
