03 ELECTRONIC STABILITY
CONTROL (ESC) SYSTEM OFF
The ESC system is designed to help the
driver maintain vehicle control under
adverse driving conditions.
When you turn the system off by
pressing the ESC button, the ESC OFF
indicator will come on and stay on. In
the ESC OFF mode, the stability control
will be deactivated. Adjust your driving
accordingly. To turn the system back on,
press the button again. The ESC OFF
indicator should go off.
The ESC indicator light in the instrument
cluster will illuminate for 3 seconds
after the key is turned ON. If the light
remains illuminated, take your vehicle
to an authorized Hyundai dealer.
04 ALL-WHEEL DRIVE (AWD) LOCK
(if equipped)
During off-road or low-friction
driving conditions, press the AWD
lock button to drive in full-time
AWD dividing the power between
the front and rear wheels (for
vehicles equipped with optional
AWD). The AWD lock indicator
light in the instrument cluster is
illuminated. To turn AWD lock
off, press the button again. The
AWD lock indicator should go off.
05 HEADLIGHTS
HEADLIGHT SWITCH
To operate the headlights, twist the
switch on the end of the lever:
OFF – Headlights off
– Parking lights on
– Headlights on
AUTO – Auto Light (if equipped)
NOTE: The ignition must be in the
“ON” position to turn on the headlights.
HIGH BEAM ACTIVATION
Push the lever forward.
Flash-To-Pass Feature: Pull the lever towards you and release.

significantly under-inflated.

LOW TIRE PRESSURE POSITION INDICATOR: Indicates which tire is
significantly under-inflated by illuminating the corresponding
position light.
TPMS MALFUNCTION INDICATOR: Illuminates and stays illuminated when
there is a problem with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System. If this
happens, the system may not monitor tire pressure. Have the system
checked by an authorized Hyundai dealer as soon as possible.

WIPER SPEED
The windshield wiper switch has four
positions: intermittent, low
speed, high speed and
mist. For mist (single
wipe), move the lever
up one position.

INTERMITTENT WIPERS
With the windshield
wiper switch in the “INT” position, the
interval between wipes can be varied by turning the
intermittent wiper switch.

WIPE / WASH OPERATION
To use the windshield washer, pull the wiper / washer lever toward you. The washer
continues to operate until the lever is released. When the washer is operated, the wipers
automatically make two passes across the windshield.

REAR WIPER / WASHER
The rear wiper / washer has four positions:
- wash with continuous wipe
ON - wiper operates continuously

TO REMOVE FROST OR FOG ON THE WINDSHIELD:
1. Press the front window defroster button

NOTE: If the air conditioner filter for the evaporator blower is not replaced per the scheduled
maintenance section, excessive window fogging may result. This filter is located in the
evaporator housing behind the glove box. Your dealer can replace this filter for you.
DUAL TEMPERATURE CONTROL
Press the DUAL button

to operate the driver and passenger side temperatures
individually. The indicator light on the button will illuminate. Press the DUAL button again
to deactivate DUAL mode (The indicator light on the button goes off.) The passenger side
temperature

15 CLOCK ADJUSTMENT
There are three control buttons for the
digital clock. Their functions are:
H: Push “H” to advance the hours.
M: Push “M” to advance the minutes.
R: Push “R” to reset minutes to
“:00”. Continue to press and hold
the “R” button to toggle between
military time and standard time.
13 HEATED SEATS (if equipped)
With the ignition key in the
“ON” position, push either of the
buttons to warm the driver’s seat
or the passenger’s seat.
Each time you push the buttons,
the temperature setting of the
seat is changed as follows:

TRANSMISSION (if equipped)
To select automatic mode, shift to
“D.” To select “SPORTS” mode,
move the shift lever right to the
manual shift gate. The instrument
cluster displays the selected forward
gear. Refer to the Owner’s Manual for
detailed information.
MANUAL TRANSMISSION
(GLS models only)
When shifting into reverse gear, pull
the mis-shift prevention tab and shift
into reverse gear position.

16 OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF INDICATOR
The indicator will illuminate when you
turn the ignition to “ON” or “START.”
The light will not illuminate when the
passenger’s air bag is enabled. Refer
to the Owners’ Manual for a complete
description of this system. NOTE: The
driver’s air bag and the driver’s side
impact air bag are not part of the
occupant classification system.

Press to disarm the alarm and unlock the driver’s door.
Press again within four seconds to unlock all doors.

PANIC
Press to activate the horn and flashing lights for 30
seconds. Press again to turn off panic mode.
ADJUSTING AND FOLDING THE 2ND ROW SEAT (models with 3rd row seat only)
To fold the rear seat forward for access to the 3rd row:

Lower the headrest to the lowest position.

Pull the seatback folding lever, then push down the seatback until it locks into place.

Pull the seat cushion release lever on the side or rear of the seat and then fold up the seat.

door handle.

The AC inverter supplies 115VAC/150W electric power to operate electric accessories or
equipment when the key is in the “ON” position. The AC inverter is turned on by pushing in
the switch. To turn the AC Inverter off, push the switch a second time.

COMPASS FUNCTION
The compass can be turned ON and OFF and will remember the last state when the ignition
is cycled. To turn the display feature ON/OFF:
1.
Press and release the button to turn the display feature OFF.
2.
Press and release the button again to turn the display back ON.
Additional options can be set with press and hold sequences of the button and are detailed
in the Owner’s Manual.

Wireless Control System that is integrated into the rearview mirror provides
a convenient way to replace up to three hand-held radio-frequency (RF) transmitters used

GETTING STARTED
Insert disc into rear CD/DVD slot (the front CD slot does NOT support
DVD playback).
Open the LCD display.
To enable audio:
Press CD/RSE until “RSE MODE” appears on the front audio display screen.
OR press the MODE button on the steering wheel controls until “RSE MODE
is displayed.
To disable the rear controls, press and hold CD/RSE for two seconds.
To re-enable the rear controls, press and hold CD/RSE for an additional two seconds.
Eject disc by pressing next to the rear CD/DVD slot.
Other audio options:
To listen to the regular car stereo while simultaneously using RSE, use the
front controls to change to the desired audio mode. Alternatively, press MODE
on the steering wheel controls.
Use the headsets to listen to RSE audio at any time (Note that headsets will
not function when used from the front seats).

Exterior – Walk around vehicle; check for cleanliness, dents and scratches.
• Confirm tire pressure and oil level has been checked.
Interior – Check for loose papers and cleanliness.
Assure audio system is at appropriate level, driver’s seat is back and tilt steering is in
the up position.
The Delivery – Walk around vehicle with customer; point out locking fuel filler door. Proceed
to rear hatch area.
qTrunk – Use remote to open rear hatch. Demonstrate key operation. Point out large
opening and low loading height. Also locate:
• Hatch area light • Emergency trunk release
• Spare tire/tools • Rear seat release levers – Demonstrate

qSecond Row Seating – Use remote to open rear doors by pushing remote “unlock” selector
twice. Point out/demonstrate:
• Child-protector rear door lock • Center armrest, drink holders, door bottle
• Child seat anchors, seat tether holders, storage areas, seat back storage
anchors and automatic locking seatbelts
qThird Row Seating (if equipped) – Demonstrate the third row seating feature.
