HOTWATER
For optimal cleaning and drying
results, hot water is necessary.The
incomingwater temperatureshouldbe
120-140° F (49-60' C) to properly
activatethe detergentand meltgreasy
foodsoils,
Tochecktheincomingwatertemperature,
turnon the hot waterfaucetnearestthe
dishwasherandletitrunintoa glassinthe
sink.Placea candythermometerin the
glass and checkthetemperatureonce it
has stoppedrising. If the temperatureis
below 120° F (49° C), have a qualified
personraise the water heaterthermostat
setting.
Beforestartingthedishwasher,turnonthe
hot waterfaucetand let it run untilthe
waterishot.Thisassuresthattheinitialfill
ofwaterishot.
TERGEHT
Usea detergent designedspecificallyfor
useinanautomaticdishwasher.Besureit
isfreshandstoredin a cool,dryplace(not
underthe sink).
RECOMMENDEDAMOUNT
Toolittledetergentresultsinpoorcleaning,
hard water filming/spottingand poor
drying. Too much detergentcan cause
permanentatching/cloudiness.
The amount of detergent to use is
determinedby the hardnessofthe water
and soillevel of the load. Referto the
following chart for detergent usage
recommendations.
DonotusedetergentwiththeRinseOnly
cycle. Leavethedetergentlidopenwhen
runningRinseOnly.
In extremely hard water conditions (13
grainsper gallonor more*),it isdifficultto
achievegood resultswithanydishwasher.
A mechanical water softener may be
necessary to improve water quality,
detergenteffectiveness,and protectthe
dishwasherpartsfrom the damagethat
hardwatercancause.

Regular use of a rinse aid improves
drying, reduces spotting and filming,
and reduces moisture left on the
dishwasherinterior.
An automatic rinse aid dispenser is
locatednext to the detergent cup. The
window next to the dispenser cap
indicateswhen the rinse aid reservoir
needsto be refilled. Whenthe levelof
rinseaidis belowtheindicatormarksand
thewindowisnearlyclear,itistimetorefill
the dispenser. Check the dispenser
monthly.
Toaddrinseaidtothedispenser,turnthe
cap counterclockwiseto open. Remove
thecap and pourliquidrinseaid intothe
opening. The amount of rinse aid
dispensedduringthecycleisadjustableby
movingthe leverinsidethereservoirarea.
For most water conditions use
manufacturerrecommendedsettingof=2".
Adjust it up tothe "MAX"settingfor hard
water. Set the lever anywherebetween
these amountsas neededto get the best
results. Replace the cap and turn it
clockwisetoclose.

illuminates during all rinse and wash
portionsofthecycle.
The HEATINGDELAY (select models)
lightilluminateswhenthe cycleis being
extendedtoheatthewater.
The CLEAN and SANITIZED (select
models) indicator lights will not re-
illuminateaftera powerfailure untilafter
thenextcycleis run,
The SANITIZED (select models) light
illuminatesat the end of the cycle when
conditions have been met to achieve
