III) Check the contents of the two xing kits are correct.

NOTE: Actual size parts photo at the rear of this guide.

I) Place your unopened box on a at surface with sufcient working space.

II) Open the box and remove all the loose parts, including the two xing kit bags.

Congratulations on purchasing a GARDENLINE lawnmower, manufactured by

AL-KO in Austria.

1) Remove the packaging from the Grass

Flap and set the straight silver bar to one

side.

2) Ref:- User Manual Fig 01.

Place the silver Grass Box Brace Bar into

the retainers at the front and sides of the

Grass Box paying attention to the angle of

the bar as shown.

3) Ref:-User Manual Fig 02.

Lay the top and bottom sections of the Grass Box on their sides, as shown below.

The 9 tabs on the fabric section of the Grass Box need to be inserted into the

corresponding slots in the solid section of the Grass Box. This will join the two halves

together.

Ensure the Bracing Bar ts into the

holes in the solid section of the Grass

Box.

5) Starting at the rst tab, squeeze the two sections of the Grass Box together, so the

tab locates fully into the solid section of the Grass Box and continue to locate the tabs

around the Grass Box

Insert the left Grass Box Brace Plate under the Grass Box Brace Bar and the two black

vertical pillars of the Grass Box, as shown below.

Line up the holes in the two Grass Box halves, the Brace Plate and the Brace Bar and

insert the cross head bolt from the outside and secure with the small round headed nut.

You will need a medium cross head screwdriver and an 8mm spanner.

9) Insert the two thin screws into the outside holes on the sides of the Grass Box

(1) and down into the Brace Plate (2) and tighten with a long, small cross head

screwdriver.

10) Ref:- User Manual Fig. 05. Pass the black plastic rectangular Grass Box section

(at side up) from the front of the Grass Box, under the top cover and up towards the

handle.

11) Line up the three tabs on one side with the corresponding slots in the Grass Box

and press the three tabs on the other side down, securing this section into the Grass

Box.

To attach the Fill Indicator, gently bend the rear edge, so the two tabs t into the holes

in the Grass Box. Once tted, the Fill Indicator should be able to move up and down

freely.

Fit the Grass Flap Spring to the Grass Flap, by rst inserting the left leg of the Spring

into the left hole on the underside of the Grass Flap (1a). When inserting the left leg,

ensure the middle leg of the Spring, is resting on top of the raised bars of the Grass

Flap (1b).

Next, insert the right leg of the Grass Flap Spring into the right hole on the Grass Flap

and push both legs down so they are visible on the far side of the raised bars and the

round section of the spring sits in the curve at the top of the Grass Flap (2) (Manual

Fig. 08).

Remove the lawnmower from the box.

Hold the Grass Flap against the rear of the mower (1).

Hold one side of the Grass Flap, and with your other hand, use your thumb to press the

middle leg of the Grass Box Spring out, so it locates into the small square hole on the

back of the mower frame (2). Push the middle leg of the Grass Flap Spring fully into

the square hole so the Grass Flap sits neatly against the Rear Frame of the mower (3).

Take the long Grass Flap Bar and pass it through the hole on the left side of the Grass

Box Flap (1). Look underneath the Grass Flap to ensure the bar passes through the

Grass Flap Spring (2).

Tip: When the bar reaches the right hand side, the Grass Flap Spring will cause

the bar to be pulled forwards, out of position. To locate the bar into the hole on

the right hand side of the Grass Flap, press the left end of the bar forwards (a),

then push it in (b). Looking at the hole from the right hand side whilst doing this,

will help to see the position of the bar and aid its location (3).

Next, clip in the End Cover Buttons at either end of the Grass Flap, preventing the bar

from coming out.

Tip: There is a single notch on each end of the Grass Flap (1). To locate the End

Cover Buttons securely, any one of the cut outs in the Buttons must be tted

over this notch (2).

Pull the Height of Cut Lever out towards the right wheel (a) and move it towards the

rear of the mower (b) until the button at the base of the lever locates into the hole in the

cutting deck nearest to the back of the machine (c).

Tip: Before proceeding, rub a small amount of polish over the legs of the Lower

Handle (1).

Push the ends of the Lower Handle rmly into the holes in the top of the mower (2) until

they locate fully. The hole in each leg should be visible through the hole in the side of

the deck.

Secure the Lower Handle on both sides using the T25 Torx Screw and Washer (3).

Lift the Upper Handle up from the mower and line up one of the square holes in the

Upper Handle with the hole in the Lower Handle (1) and secure with the large Bolt from

the inside and the Washer and Hand Nut on the outside (2).

Important: Ensure both cables are on top of the Lower Handle.

If they are below the Lower Handle, the cables will be too tight and the handles will not

fold down correctly.

Tip: There are two square holes on the Upper Handle. This provides adjustment

for the height of the user. If tall, the customer can locate the securing bolt

through the lower hole as shown.

Attach the Recoil Retaining Hook using the hole in the Upper Handle, below the

Adjuster, on the right hand side (1).

From the left:

a) Bolt, b) Handle, c) Retaining Hook, d) Washer, e) Nut

Important: Hold the front Safety Lever against the Upper Handle Grip while

pulling up the Recoil Rope Handle

Gently pull the Recoil Rope Handle up so it is held in place by the Recoil Rope

Retaining Hook.

Using the two cable ties supplied, secure the cables to the handle, above and below

the Hand Nut.

Important: Your machine has been supplied from manufacture with NO OIL

in the engine. Starting the engine without adding the correct amount of oil will

damage the engine! This is not covered by the manufacturer warranty.

Pour approx 0.4L of SAE30 Engine Oil into the oil tank (1).

To check the oil level, the Dip Stick must be securely tightened, then removed. The

correct oil level is between the two marks on the Dip Stick (2).

Fill the Fuel Tank (1) with fresh unleaded petrol.

Note: Unleaded petrol can go stale in as little as 60 days. We recommend the use of a

fuel stabiliser, such as B3C Ethanol Shield or Briggs & Stratton Fuel Fit to prolong the

life of your fuel and to protect your engine from the harmful effects of ethanol.

Lift up the Grass Flap (1a) and attach the Grass Box (1b).

Tip: The front of the Grass Box ts over a tab on either side of the mower body

(2).

When collecting grass, the Fill Indicator will ap up and down (1).

When the Grass Box is full, the Fill Indicator will stay at (2).

There are 7 heights of cut. To adjust the height of cut, pull the Height of Cut Lever out

(a) and then up (b) or back down, to the height of cut required.

To start your mower:

Press the red Primer on the side of the engine 3 times.

CAUTION: This action will start the engine and ALSO start the Cutting Blade.

Hold the front Safety Lever against the Main Handle (a) and pull the Recoil Rope

Handle (b).

IMPORTANT: To stop the mower, release the front Safety Lever.

Once the mower has started, it can be pushed

along while holding in the front Safety Lever.

To engage the Wheel Drive, hold in the front

Safety Lever (a) and also the rear Drive Lever

(b). To stop the Wheel Drive, release the rear

Drive Lever.

To adjust the height of the Upper Handle, release the grey clips on the Handle

Adjusters and move the Upper Handle up or down to the desired position.

To secure the Upper Handle, press down the grey clips on the Handle Adjusters.

After some time, if the Wheel Drive needs

adjustment, turn the adjuster on the Bowden

Cable in the direction shown.

Caution: Only adjust this when the engine

is off

If adjusting the cable does not work, the mower

should be taken to an authorised AL-KO agent.
