3.INSTALLATIONANDSTARTUP
3.1INSTALLATION
Readtheinstructionsmanualthoroughlyandapplythecontents.
Makesurethatthemachinehasnotbeendamagedduringtransportationandiscleanandcomplete.
Placethemachineinastableandwell‐protectedarea.
Usehosesthatarelongenoughtomakesuretheoperatorisawayfromthedangerzone.
Assemble the complete installation making sure that all accessories (hoses, quick‐couplers, valves, joints, pressure gauges, distributors,
cylinders,etc.)areproperlyconnected.Checkwithoutaloadasindicatedinthenextpoint.Agoodinstallationisessentialtotheproper,
risk‐freefunctioningofthemachine,andshouldthereforebecarriedoutbyqualifiedpersonnelonly.
Connectingthehoses.Operationofthedistributingvalve:
Two‐positionmanualcontrol.Singleeffectcylinder.Type:HBM__1_.
o Thedistributingvalvehasasingleoutletforconnectiontothehose.
o Whentheleverissettoposition‘P’(towardsthehoseoutlet),thecylindermovesout.
o Turningthelevertoposition‘T’(oppositedirection),causesthecylindertoreturn,becauseoftheactionofthespringorthe
weightoftheloaditself.
Three‐positionmanualcontrol.Singleeffectcylinder.Type:HBM__2_.
o Connect the hose to outlet ‘A’ (plastic plug). Do not use the connection point marked with ‘B’. This point should remain
plugged.
o Whentheleverissettoposition‘A’,thecylindermovesforward.Whentheleverisinposition‘C’,itmaintainstheloadinits
currentposition.Andwhentheleverissetto‘B’,thecylinderreturns,becauseoftheactionofthespringortheweightofthe
loaditself.

o Connectthecylinder’sforwardhose(pressure)tooutlet‘A’ofthedistributingvalve,andthereturnhosetooutlet‘B’.
o Whentheleverissettoposition‘A’,thecylindermovesforward.Whentheleverisinposition‘C’,itmaintainstheloadinits
currentposition,andwhentheleverissetto‘B’,thecylinderreturns,becauseofthepressureappliedbytheoildistributed
bythepump.

o Thedistributingvalvehasasingleoutletforconnectiontothehose.
o WhentheUPbuttonoftheremotependantispressed,thecylind
ermovesforward.Whenthebuttonisreleased,itmoves
back,becauseoftheactionofthespringortheweightoftheloaditself.

o Connectthehoseto outlet ‘A’(plasticplug).Whenthe ‘UP’ buttonontheremote pendant ispressed,thecylindermoves
forward.Whenitisreleased,thecylindermaintainsthepressurelevelandtheloadremainswhereitis.Whenthe‘DOWN’
buttonispressed,thecylinderreturnsbecauseoftheactionofthespringortheweightoftheloaditself.

o Connectthecylinder’sforwardhose(pressure)tooutlet‘A’ofthedistributingvalve,andthereturnhosetooutlet‘B’.When
the‘UP’buttonontheremotependantispressed,thecylindermovesforward.Whenitisreleased,thecylindermaintains
thepressurelevelandtheloadremainswhereitis.Whenthe‘DOWN’buttonispressed,thecylinderreturnsbecauseofthe
pressureappliedbytheoildistributedbythepump.
Makesurethatthevoltagelevelinthemainscoincideswithwhatspecifiedforthemachine.
3.2CHECKINGTHECORRECTFUNCTIONINGOFALLMACHINEPARTS
Replacethetransportationplugwiththeventilationplug(suppliedinaplasticbag).
Checkthetanklevel.
Connectthemainselectricitysupplytotheterminalstripintheelectricalcabinet.
Makesurethattheremotependantisdeactivatedand/orthatthemanualcontrolissetto‘C’.
WithHBE‐typeelectricalcontrolpumps,rotatetheelectricalcabinet’sswitchtoposition‘1’.Presstheelectricalcabinet’sgreenbuttonto
startthemotor.
Checkthatthedirectionofrotationcoincideswiththatindicatedbythearrowontheelectricmotorlid.Ifthedirectionsdonotcoincide,
stopthemotor(bypressingtheredswitch),rotatetheswitchto‘0’anddisconnecttheequipmentfromthemainelectricitysupply.Swap
thetwocablesaroundintheterminal.Repeattheoperationandcheckthatthedirectionofrotationisnowcorrect.
WithHBM‐typemanualcontrolpumps,pressthegreenbuttoninthemotorstarterortheblackbuttononthecircuitbreakerboxtostart
themotor.Checkthedirectionofrotationasexplainedinthepreviouspoint.
Withelectricalcontrolpumps,whenthe‘UP’buttonontheremotependantispressed,thecylinderpistonmovesforwardoncethehose
hasfilledwithoil.Thepistonmovesbackwhenthe‘DOWN’buttonispressed.
Practisemovingthepistonbackandforth.
Withmanualcontrolpumps,whentheleverissettoposition‘A’or‘P’,thecylinderpistonmovesforwardoncethehosehasfilledwithoil.
Thepistonmovesbackwhentheleverissettoposition‘B’or‘T’.
Aftermakingsurethatnooneisinthedangerzone,carefullyextendthecylinderasfarasitwillgo.
VERYIMPORTANT:
BEFOREDOINGTHIS,MAKESURETHATTHECYLINDERORHYDRAULICTOOLISDESIGNEDTOWITHSTANDALLTHE
PRESSUREATTHEENDOFITSSTROKE.
