GROUNDED SURGE PROTECTOR
The
VlSLpG
Grounded Surge Protector provides pro-
tection
to sensitive video equipment
from
power line
surges. The peak pulse power dissipation is 1500 W at
77’ F (25’ C) at 1 ms, and the response time from 0 V
to clamping is less than 5 nanoseconds.
The VlSLPG should be
ihstalkd
at the control-center
end of the video cable run. For example, if several
cameras are connected to a switcher, the surge protector
should be installed at the switcher end of the cable run.
Refer to Figure 1.
The VlSLPG is provided with one male and one female
BNC connector and a screw terminal clamp for the
ground. To install the protector, insert it in the video
line at the protected equipment and connect a ground
line from the screw clamp to a known good ground.
