1 - HOW TO SET THE BATTERY
The CLA-30/40 amplifier needs to be supplied with a 9V PP3 battery (not
provided).To insert the battery into the amplifier simply follow instructions
below:
- Open the battery compartment located on the base by pressing the little
plasticlock.
-Insertthe9Vbatterywiththecorrectpolarityinthebatterycompartment.
-Replacethebatterycover.
-Theamplifierisnowreadytobeconnectedtothephone.
2 - HOW TO CONNECT THE CLA-30/40 TO THE PHONE
ToconnectyourphonetotheCLA-30/40 amplifiersimplyfollowinstructions
below:
-Unplugthehandsetfromyourtelephonebasesocket.
-ConnectthelittleleadsuppliedwiththeCLA-30/40tothebasesocketandto
theCLA-30/40socket(1)locatedontherearside.
-ConnectyourhandsetwithitscurlycordtheCLA-30/40socket(2)located
onthefrontside.
-AfterafewsecondsthebatteryLEDwilllight.
IMPORTANT:
Ifyoudon’thavethedialtone,youwillhavetousethetwelvepositionswitch
locatedonthebottom.Thisswitchisusedtomatchthehandsetconnectionto
themostphonesonthemarket.Ifthemicrophoneortheearpiecedoesnot
workproperlysimplyfollowinstructionsbelow:
-Replacethehandsetonthecradleandhook-onagain.
-Adjust theswitchpositiontogetthedialtone(earpieceandmicrophone),
CLA-30/40is now ready to use.

Note:TheCLA-30/40cannotbeusedwithtelephoneswhichhavea keypadon
thehandset.
3 - VOLUME CONTROL
Youcanadjustthevolumecontrollevelbyusingthe“VOLUME”controlslide
switchlocatedonthetop.Volumecanbeadjustedfromthesamelevelyouhave
withyourphoneupto30dBormore.
4 - TONE CONTROL
Youcanadjustthetonebyusingthe5position“TONE”switchlocatedonthe
top.The tonecanbeadjustedby5dBstepwithregardofthe0dBmiddlepoint
forthebassandtreble.Possiblesettingsare -10dB,-5dB,0dBforthebassand
0dB,-5dB,-10dB forthetreble, thiscanbeadjustedattheminandmaxvolume
level.
5 - BOOST SWITCH (CLA-40 ONLY)
Ifyouwishyoucanincreasethereceivingupto10dBmorebypressingand
holdingtheBoostswitchbutton.Duringthisoperationthemicrophoneismuted
toavoidfeedbackproblems.Tospeakreleasethebutton sothatthepeoplecan
hearyou.
6-BATTERY INDICATOR
Eachtimeyouuseyourphonewiththeamplifier,thebatteryLEDindicatorwill
lighttoshowthatthebatteryisfull.IftheLEDdoesnotlight,thebatterymustbe
changed.
IMPORTANT:AlwaysdisconnectCLA-30/40fromthephonebeforereplacing
thebattery .
TROUBLESHOOTING

IF THE AMPLIFIER DOES NOT WORK
-Makesureallconnectionsarecorrectlypluggedintothesockets(phoneline
cord,amplifierconnections).
- Make sure battery is correctly inserted with the good polarity and is fully
charged.
However, if you still have some problems when using your amplifier follow
instructionsbelow:
-Disconnecttheamplifierfromthetelephone.
-Connectthehandsettothetelephone.
-If theproblemceases,theamplifierisfaulty.
-Ifyoustillhavetheproblemwhenyoudisconnecttheamplifier,theproblem
comesfromyourtelephoneoryourtelephonelinesocket.
Inthiscaseyouwillhavetoinformyourtelephonecompanyabout theproblem
ortakeyourtelephonetoarepaircentre.
IMPORTANT:TheCLA-30/40cannotbeusedwithtelephoneswhichinclude
a keypad on the handset. The CLA-30/40 can only be used with standard
phoneswithoutanyamplificationortoneadjustment.
