My husband and I are
planning my daughter’s
birthday party. We’re
browsing websites, saving
photos, and writing memos
with my S Pen. The S Pen and
the air command feature are
really useful.

Use air command with the S Pen
Use the air command feature to
take various actions from any
screen.
Press the S Pen button while hovering the S Pen over the
screen to display air command. With this feature, you can
directly use the following actions:
•
Action Memo
: Turn your handwriting into an actionable link
to one of a range of useful features.
•
Scrapbooker
: Collect a variety of content and save it.
•
Screen Write
: Capture a screenshot and edit it.
•
S Finder
: Search for a wide variety of content on your device.
•
Pen Window
: Use the S Pen to draw a window and open useful
applications inside it.

Write a memo,
and directly link
it to actions:
Action Memo
I just got a call from my colleague.
During the call, I jotted down our
customer’s email address with my
S Pen. Now, I’m going to contact
the customer directly with the
handwritten memo to make an
appointment.

Make a simple memo with Action Memo
Use this feature to turn your
handwriting into an actionable link
to one of a range of useful features.
Tap
Action Memo
on the air command.
Jot down a memo, and then select the memo by tapping
to perform actions, such as making a call, adding contacts
and sending messages. With
selected, draw a line around
an area with the S Pen to perform actions within the selected
area.
TIP
Alternatively, with the S Pen
button pressed, double-tap
the screen to launch Action
Memo.
Collect, save,
and share:
Scrapbook
Protecting the environment is one
of our family’s biggest concerns.
Today, my daughter and I found a
video clip showing how to recycle.
We quickly collect it into my
scrapbook. We can easily save and
organise useful information using
the S Pen.

Make a digital scrapbook with Scrapbooker
Collect a variety of contents from
webpages, videos, and more, and
make your own scrapbook.
While viewing webpages or videos, tap
Scrapbooker
on the
air command, and then draw a line around an area.
Create or select a category to add the selected area, and then
tap
. The gathered contents are saved in Scrapbook app.

Search for a
wide variety

S Finder
My husband is holding his
phone and looks frustrated.
I ask him why, and he tells me
that he can’t find a document
he received. So, I show him the
easiest way to find files on the
phone.

Search through the device with S Finder
Search for a wide variety of
content on your device including
images, videos, Scrapbook, S Note,
Action Memo, music, handwritten
symbols and formulas.
Tap
S Finder
on the air command, and then search for
anything on your device.
Tap the search field, and then enter a keyword. Alternatively,
tap
, and then speak a keyword, or select a search criteria
below the search field.
To search for handwritten formulas or symbols, hover the
S Pen over the text field, tap
, draw symbols or formulas, and
then tap
.

Compose and
manage notes
quickly and
easily:
S Note
I’m writing down the main points
of the meeting on my phone.
Thanks to the S Note feature, I can
quickly and easily write notes, and
also edit it, organise it, and share
it with others.

The new S Note presents a
comprehensive solution that
enables you to easily write,
organise, edit and browse notes
with a user-friendly interface.
Make notes with user friendly interface
Create notes with enriched content by adding multimedia files
or voice memos.
Tap S Note app and set the default covers and a template.
If you finished writing or drawing, tap to save the note.
Write a note.
Insert a multimedia file.
TIP
Drag down a note to preview
the pages above the note.

Edit your handwritten note by
using the selection tool.
You can not only cut, move, resize
the note, but also convert a drawn
shape or handwriting to well-
organised one.
Edit the handwritten note
While editing the handwritten note, tap .
Then, tap the note or draw a line around it to select it. With
a handwritten note selected, you can cut, move, resize, or
transform it as you want.

Use the easy chart to chart many
aspects of life, such as your weight,
business presentation, account
books, and more.
Create your own chart with Easy chart
While editing a note, tap >
Easy chart
, and then select a
chart type.
•
To create a table, enter columns and rows data on the table.
•
To create a bar chart, draw rectangles on the chart.
•
To create a line chart, draw a line or mark points on the chart.
•
To create a pie chart, draw dividers on the circle.
To edit an inserted chart, tap and hold it, and then tap
Edit chart
.
Write instead
of typing:
Direct pen input
I can handwrite to set alarms,
send messages, or enter web
addresses, instead of using the
keyboard. My son is looking at
me with envious eyes. Maybe
he wants to try it out.

With this feature, you can send
handwritten messages, make calls
by writing contact names or phone
numbers, browse the Internet
by writing web addresses, or set
alarms by simply writing numbers.
Handwrite with Direct pen input
When hovering the S Pen over a text field, icon appears at
the upper left corner of the text field.
Tap
to write with the S Pen. To make simple corrections,
change input languages, or enter a space between characters,
tap each correction tool displayed on the handwriting pad.

This feature allows you to run and
use two applications on the screen
at the same time. You can launch
the same applications in the two
separated windows.

Multitask freely, smartly, effortlessly: Multi Window
Tap and hold to show or hide the Multi Window panel at
the left side of the screen. Select one application, and then
drag another application to a new location.
To share an item between the windows, tap the circle between
the windows, tap
, and then drag an item to another
window. You can share a paragraph of text or a screenshot of
an image.

To minimise an application, tap . You can move the
applications to other locations on the screen.

To close an application, tap .
Use the S Pen to draw a window

Read anywhere you go: My Magazine
To use this feature, on the Home screen, flick your finger up
from the bottom of the screen, or press the Home button.
To set up your magazine, tap
, and then tick categories.
Tap
, select topics, and then tap .
Flick left or right to change the category, flick up or down to
turn over magazine pages, and then select an item to view.
Get the latest news and social
network updates, and read them all
in one place.
