Introduction
Thank you for choosing the VuMATRIX 4K HDMI
over IP system. Before operating any of the
VuMATRIX units please read this operation
manual and keep it for future reference.
Note
Images and illustrations in this operations
manual are for reference only and may differ
from actual product.
Location of the Identification label
Every transmitter and receiver comes with an
identification label. This label contains the serial
number and website to download manuals for
your product. It is located on the bottom of
each of your transmitter and receiver.
Additional Note
The transmitter and receiver module should
allow you to transmit and receive any 4K, full
HD, HD, and SD video content. Any other type
of resolution that is not a standard may not
work properly with the VuMATRIX devices.
CAUTION
The transmitters and receivers are designed to
operate in a voltage range that is 110V ~ 220V
AC (USA & Canada is 110V). These devices
should not be operated outside the
recommended voltage ranges or severe damage
can occur and possible risk of electrical fire may
occur.

Safety Information
The openings on this unit are sides and top and bottom of these units are necessary for
proper ventilation. To ensure reliable operation and proper cooling please do not place
units on or near any of the following:
- Do not place in any confined spaces (Bookshelves or cabinets etc., unless
proper ventilation is provided)
- Do not place unit near any heat sources (heater or in direct sunlight etc.)
- Do not place near any objects containing liquids (Vases or Fish tanks
- etc.)
Do not expose this unit to rain or near water. Risk of electric shock if unit gets wet. (Pool
or Kitchen sink etc.)
Do not overload wall outlets beyond their maximum power load. Risk of electric fire or
shock can occur.
Place power cord so that they are not to be pinched or walked on.
Never insert any metallic object into the devices as risk of electric shock may occur.
If unit cover is removed, never touch anything inside the unit while powered on. This
may result in electric shock and potential equipment damage.
If the unit is smoking or getting extremely hot, immediately unplug power adapter from
wall outlet and contact customer support.
Do not use the provided power adapter with more than one device as overloading the
power supply can lead to risk of fire or unit damage.

PVI VuMATRIX Information
The VuMATRIX is video integration system that
takes any 4K, full HD (1080), HD (720), or SD
HDMI input and transmits it over a Gigabit
Network. Using your existing Gigabit network,
you can have up to 99 Transmitters and have up
to an unlimited number of receivers. Using the
VuMATRIX system you can integrate all your
existing TV’s together and operate them
independently. Every Transmitter and receiver
also comes with the IR extender input and
outputs allowing you to change channels on the
TV using the original remotes to change
channels on all your televisions. The VuMATRIX
system also comes with USB over IP which is a
new technology to control USB devices (such as
a mouse or keyboard) through the VuMATRIX
transmitters and receivers on your network. So
how does this all work. Below you will find an
illustration of how the VuMATRIX 4K system
can be implemented.
Using multicast across your network allows streaming to many different devices. Multicast also saves
bandwidth by sending data to multiple devices at once instead of one device at a time like Unicast.

Configuring the VuMATRIX Transmitters
1. Take the VuMATRIX 4K IPTX transmitter and connect an internet cable into the Ethernet port.
Take the other end of the cable and plug it directly into the Ethernet port on a laptop or
desktop. Connect the power adapter provided to provide power to the Transmitter. You should
see both lights blinking on the Ethernet port of the transmitter and the Ethernet port of the
computer (some computer models do not have blinking lights on the Ethernet port of the
computer).
2. Once you have verified that both sets of Ethernet port lights are blinking, go to the computer,
and go to your Desktop. Navigate to the bottom right hand side of the desktop and find the WIFI
or LAN symbol. The WIFI and LAN symbol are shown below.
The WIFI or LAN symbol is located inside the taskbar as shown below.
3. If there is no WIFI or LAN symbol located in the taskbar click on the up symbol to show all the
icons in the taskbar as shown below.

4. Right-click on the WIFI or LAN symbol and select open Network and Sharing Center.
NOTE: If you are still unable to find the WIFI or LAN icon in your taskbar please follow the steps
below.
If you have found the WIFI or LAN icon, please continue to step 5.
Only complete these steps if you are unable to locate the WIFI or LAN ICON in the taskbar
Go to your keyboard HOLD DOWN the windows key FIRST and press the R button.
This will open the Run window as shown below.
Type in the open box type “control panel” and click OK as shown below.
This will open the control panel window. Change the view by category to large icons.

Then Scroll down and locate the Network and Sharing Center Icon and click on it.
5. In the Networking and Sharing Window click on Change adapter settings.
6. Go to the WIFI icon and right click it. The Wi-Fi adapter window will open. Then select “disable”
at the top of the window.

7. Then go the Ethernet icon and right click it. On the Ethernet adapter window scroll to the
bottom of the window and select “properties”.
8. In the Ethernet properties window select the “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” and then
click on properties.

9. Check the circle for Use the following IP address. Then next to the IP address box enter in
169.254.0.1 Then take your mouse cursor and click inside the subnet mask box and the subnet
mask will automatically be filled in. (If for some reason, the subnet mask does not automatically
appear, the subnet mask is 255.255.0.0)
10. Download the PVI 4K over IP Control Center Software from quickinstallnow.com.
NOTE
Before you start programming your transmitters, you need to fill out the included Transmitter
Network Map. The IP addresses will start at 192.168.0.101 for the transmitters. The channel
numbers will start at 225.0.100.0. This will be your complete guide for programming all your
transmitters. Below is an example of a Transmitter Network Map.

Below is an example of a Transmitter Network Map for 4 media devices. In this example, there
are 3 cable boxes and 1 DVD player that needs to be configured to communicate across the
network.

Every single Transmitter MUST have a different IP address and a different HOST ID #. If this
configuration is not completed, the Transmitters will not function properly and will not
communicate across your network. This Transmitter Network Map can also be referenced to
change channels on the receivers.

11. Once you have downloaded the software double click on the control center icon to open
the control 4K over IP Control Center software.
12. In the 4K VuMATRIX software click on the scan button in the top left corner of the window.
13. Once the scan button is selected the IP address of the transmitter will be showing under the TX
window.

14. Go to the Control Software and select the IP address that is showing in the control software for
the transmitter.

15. Under casting mode select Multicast and enter the Multicast IP address as shown in your
Transmitter Network Map.
IMPORTANT: SELECT A DIFFERENT NUMBER PER EACH OF YOUR TRANSMITTER UNITS
DO NOT SELECT ZERO OR IT WILL NOT WORK AND THE RECEIVERS WILL STAY IN
“VIDEO NOT READY” mode.
IF YOU ARE UNSURE, RECONNECT EACH TRANSMITTER AND VERIFY THIS PARAMETER IS SET
CORRECTLY SO EACH TRANSMITTER WILL HAVE A PROPER ID ( 1 2 3 4 … )

16. Then select Static IP and enter in the IP address as shown on your transmitter network map.

17. Once the IP address is entered, select apply in the top right corner of the window.
18. A pop-up window will appear asking you to reboot for new settings to take effect. Select yes.
NOTE: Please wait for approximately 2 minutes after selecting reboot to allow unit enough time
to restart.

19. Then take a label or sticker and write the IP address of the transmitter and place it on the
transmitter where it is clearly visible. This will help you troubleshoot any issues in the future if
they may arise.
20. Programming is complete for your transmitter.
21. If you have more than one transmitter to program, go to the next transmitter and connect it to
your computer as in step 1.
22. Repeat Steps 12 through 19 for all your transmitters.
NOTE: Don’t forget to use the Transmitter Network Map when programming all your
transmitters. Using the network map will ensure that all transmitters will have different IP
addresses and Channel #’s so that there will be no communication issues or conflicts.

Map. This will be your complete guide for programming all your receivers. The IP addresses will
