My phone will not disconnect from the line.
Tip 1
If the handset is not responding normally, you may need to reset your
telephone system. Complete the following steps to reset the telephone
system:
Step 1: Disconnect the power to the telephone base.
Step 2: Disconnect the handset battery(s).
Step 3:Wait a few minutes and then reconnect the power to the telephone
base.
Step 4: Reconnect the handset battery(s).
Step 5: Wait about one minute for the handset to re-establish a link with
the telephone base and then test the phone again.
Tip 2
To determine if this phone or other equipment is causing this issue, unplug
this phone from the line. If service is not restored, then unplug all
equipment that uses the phone line. You can reconnect the equipment one
piece at a time to help isolate the problem unit.
Tip 3
Take the phone to another jack and test it. If you the phone works, there
may be an issue with the original jack. If it still does not work, try another
phone, preferably a corded phone. If you do not have a different phone,
test your unit at another location, such as a friend's or neighbor's home. If
the problem persists, your phone may have a malfunction. If the unit
functions, you may have line or wiring problem. Contact your telephone
company.
Tip 4
Ensure you press the OFF key or that the handset is sitting in the base or
charger properly and that the CHARGE light is on. The display will read
ENDED when a call is properly terminated. If the phone is not sitting
properly, the call may not have ended.
