43PC. SPRAY GUN KIT
MODEL: 8195
WARNINGS & OPERATION
Caution! When using solvents and cleaning agents such as trichlorethylene and
methylene chloride, chemical reactions can occur on the aluminum cup, gun and on
galvanized components (small quantities of water added to trichlorethyelen produce
hydrochloric acid). This can cause oxidation of the components (in extreme cases, the
reaction can be explosive). Therefore, only use solvents and cleaning agents for your
spray gun which do not contain the substances named above. Never use acid for cleaning
purposes.
Warning! Never point spray gun at yourself or at other people. Solvents and diluting
agents can cause burns. Before any repair work may be carried out, the unit must be
disconnected from the compressed air network and pressure must be released. Before
starting to use the spray gun, particularly after repairs, ensure that screws and nuts are
correctly tightened and check that the gun
and hoses do not leak.
Application
These spray guns are shipped ready for
use with any tank type compressor
delivering at least 3 to 8 SCFM at 40 PSI for
intermittent use, 9.3 SCFM at 40 PSI for
continuous use. These non-bleeder type
spray guns require a compressor with an air
regulator and an automatic start/stop
pressure switch. The spray gun has a
built-in air valve which shuts off the air flow
through the spray gun when the trigger is
released.
The cup provided is designed for suction feed only, which makes it ideal for applying light
and medium bodied paints (stains and lacquers). This gun is not designed for gasoline or
glues. MIx paint as per the manufacturers instructions. Mixture should be smooth and
easily pourable. Lumps and foreign particles should be removed by straining through one
of the supplied paint filters.
Setting-up your Spray Gun/Touch-up Gun
Remove the paint cup by sliding the release lever above the cup to the right, rotate lid and
remove the paint cup. Fill cup with paint up to 3/4 full. Reattach paint cut and make sure it
is secure. Attach air suppply line to 1/4” NPT air inlet. Adjust air compressor pressure to 40
PSI, do not exceed 50 PSI. The recommended spraying distance for the spray gun is
10-12”.
Adjusting the Spray Direction and Width
T
o obtain a horizontal or vertical spray
, loosen nozzle locking ring (A) and turn the tip of the
nozzle (B) to the desired direction. When nozzle wings are horizontal, the spray pattern will
be more vertical. Retighten the nozzle locking ring.
To adjust the pattern width of spray, turn the pattern width adjustment knob (C). Turn the
knob to the left to increase the pattern width.
OPERATION
Adjusting the Fluid Volume Output
Turning the fluid volume output knob (D) clockwise will reduce the volume of fluid and
counterclockwise will increase the volume of fluid. If you want to cut-off the air pressure
going to the spray gun without stopping adjusting your air compressor, use the air pressure
cut-off valve (E).
Operating Tips for spray gun and touch-up gun
Depress the gun trigger and gradually turn the fluid control knob counterclockwise until the
desired fluid flow is reached. Press trigger quickly to test spray pattern. If the gun sprays
too fast, decrease the air and fluid pressure. If too slow, increase the pressure. Turn fluid
control knob counterclockwise to increase, or clockwise to decrease the fluid flow. Turn air
valve control knob counterclockwise to increase or clockwise to decrease the air flow.
Setting-up and using your Air Brush Kit
Warning! Before disassembly or removal of any part of air brush or attached components,
shut off compressor, release pressure by depressing pressure and disconnect power
source. Never assume pressure is zero!
Attach hose (C) to air supply. To attach to a compressor use the adaptor (E), to attach to
an aerosol propellant use the aerosol propelant can adaptor (D). Attach hose to air brush
body (H). Air should be regulated between 15-50 PSI. Normal operating pressure is 15-20
PSI. Maximum working pressure is 50 PSI.
The use of a pressure gauge and air filter is recommended.
Insert stem of jar (A) into the hole (G) at the bottom of the air brush body. Twist and push
the stem firmly in place. Depress the trigger (I) fully to spray paint. Use less pressure when
working close. To adjust the flow of paint, turn the regulator down for less paint and up for
more paint.
MAINTENANCE
Maintenance after use
To maintain your spray gun or touch-up gun, it must be cleaned thoroughly after each use.
Be careful not to damage the air cap, fluid nozzle and fluid needle. Use a brush with
thinner or compatible solvent to clean air cap and fluid nozzle. Never immerse the spray
gun completely into thinner or compatible solvent. Spray thinner to clean out the paint
passageway.
Air Brush maintenance
Do not soak the entire air brush in solvent or thinner for a long period of time as this will
destroy lubricants and possibly make motion uneven. Never use lye or caustic alkaline
solution for cleaning. These solutions will attack the aluminum alloy parts of the air brush.
Clean air brush immediately after use. Paint can dry quickly in the small passages.
Turn off air supply to air brush. Remove jar and air hose from air brush body. Loosen the
brass stem (C) and lock nut (B) using the supplied wrench and remove the brass stem,
lock nut and tip (A). Soak them in a solvent until all paint is removed. Reassemble the parts
removed and secure with wrench.
