cense policy, add-ons and demo mode.
2.1 Introducon
The ibaPDA (Process Data Acquision) system is a PC-based system for the acquision, record-
ing and analysis of measured signals.
It consists of coordinated hardware and soware components for the acquision, recording,
evaluaon and processing of measurement data.
Thanks to the modular design and easy conguraon, the system can be comfortably adapted
to the most diverse tasks and is scalable in size at any me. As a result, a wide range of applica-
ons can be covered: from small systems for mobile commissioning with 64 measuring signals
to large, staonary systems with several thousand signals. If a system is not sucient on its
own, mulple ibaPDA computers can be synchronized in the mulstaon mode. Similar to a
ight data recorder, the ibaPDA system records a wide range of measurement data and stores it
for long-term availability.
The recorded measurement data is saved in a measurement le connuously (24/7) or only
with the occurrence of dened events. The measurement les can be up to 64 GB in size and
support UTF-8 encoding (UNICODE), so that texts and signal names can also consist of Asian
characters, for example. For protecon of data and know-how, the measurement les can be
protected with a password. Alternavely or addionally, measurement data can also be connu-
ously recorded by means of an ibaHD-Server.
An essenal feature of the ibaPDA system is the strong connecvity to automaon systems and
eld bus technologies. An iba data acquision system can be connected to almost any common
automaon system via vendor-specic special assemblies, eld bus connecons or Ethernet
protocols, regardless of manufacturer or device generaon.
There is also a wide range of high-quality analog/digital converters for discrete and me-crical
signals available, which oer acquision rates of up to 100 kHz and are connected to the ibaPDA
computer via the proprietary ibaNet bus system.
Besides the acquision of measurement data, ibaPDA also oers the possibility to output signals
and calculated values. For output signals, dierent interfaces are available. Discrete analog and
digital signals can be used for controlling or alarming via ibaNet and suitable hardware compo-
nents. All congured signals are available as tags for SNMP, OPC and OPC-UA servers integrat-
ed in ibaPDA. Further interfaces to databases, MQTT brokers and cloud systems complete the
range of funconality.
The analysis of the data recorded by ibaPDA is carried out with the license-free soware, ibaAn-
alyzer.
The benets of the system can be considerably extended with special add-ons, such as ibaCap-
ture for signal-synchronous video recording or ibaQPanel for HMI-like visualizaon of measured
values.
