theseoperatinginstructionscarefully.Theycontainimportant
informationforsafeuse,forinstallationandforcareofthe
appliance.

Positioning and connection
Positioning
1.Placetheapplianceinawell-ventilatedhumidity-freeroom.
2.Donotobstructtherearfangrills.Thecompressorand
condensergiveoffheatandrequiregoodventilationtooperate
correctlyandsaveenergy.
3.Leaveaspaceofatleast10cmbetweenthetoppartofthe
applianceandanyfurnitureaboveit,andatleast5cmbetween
thesidesandanyfurniture/sidewalls.
4.Ensuretheapplianceisawayfromanysourcesofheat
(directsunlight,electricstove,etc.).
5.Inordertomaintainthecorrectdistancebetweenthe
applianceandthewallbehindit,fitthespacerssuppliedin
theinstallationkit,followingtheinstructionsprovided.
Levelling
1.Installtheapplianceonalevelandrigidfloor.
2.Ifthefloorisnotperfectlyhorizontal,adjusttherefrigerator
bytighteningorlooseningtherearfeet.
Electrical connections
Aftertheappliancehasbeentransported,carefullyplaceit
verticallyandwaitatleast3hoursbeforeconnectingittothe
electricitymains.Beforeinsertingtheplugintotheelectrical
socketensurethefollowing:
• Theapplianceisearthedandtheplugiscompliantwiththe
law.
• Thesocketcanwithstandthemaximumpowerofthe
appliance,whichisindicatedonthedataplatelocated
insidethefreezer(e.g.150W).
• Thevoltageisintherangeofvaluesindicatedonthedata
platelocatedinsidethefreezer(e.g.220-240V).
• Thesocketiscompatiblewiththeplugoftheappliance.Ifthe
socketisincompatiblewiththeplug,askanauthorisedtechnician
toreplaceit(seeAssistance).Donotuseextensioncordsor
multiplesockets.
! Oncetheappliancehasbeeninstalled,thepowersupply
cableandtheelectricalsocketmustbeeasilyaccessible.
! Thecablemustnotbebentorcompressed.
! Thecablemustbecheckedregularlyandreplacedby
authorisedtechniciansonly(seeAssistance).
! The manufacturer declines any liability should these
safety measures not be observed.
Start-up and use
Starting the appliance
! Before starting the appliance, follow the installation
instructions(seeInstallation).
! Beforeconnectingtheappliance,cleanthecompartments
andaccessorieswellwithlukewarmwaterandbicarbonate.
! Theappliancecomeswithamotorprotectioncontrolsystem
whichmakesthecompressorstartapproximately8minutes
afterbeingswitchedon.Thecompressoralsostartseachtime
thepowersupplyiscutoffwhethervoluntarilyorinvoluntarily
(blackout).
1. Inserttheplugintothesocketandmakesurethat
theTEMPERATUREindicatorlightilluminates.Ifthe
temperatureindicatorlightdoesn’tilluminate,presstheON/
OFFbutton.

Using the freezer to its full potential
• UsetheTEMPERATURECONTROLbuttontosetthe
temperaturevalue
Werecommend,however,amediumposition.
• Donotre-freezefoodthatisdefrostingorthathasalready
beendefrosted.Thesefoodsmustbecookedandeaten
(within24hours).
• Freshfoodthatneedstobefrozenmustnotcomeinto
contactwithfoodthathasalreadybeendefrosted.Fresh
foodmustbestoredinthetopFREEZERandSTORAGE
compartment.
• Donotplaceglassbottleswhichcontainliquids,andwhich
arecorkedorhermeticallysealedinthefreezerbecause
theycouldbreak.
• Themaximumquantityoffoodthatmaybefrozendailyis
indicatedontheplatecontainingthetechnicalproperties
locatedwithinthefreezer(forexample:Kg/24h:4).
• Tofreeze(ifthefreezerisalreadyoperating):
-forsmallquantitieswhicharelessthanthoseindicated
onthedataplate,presstherapidfreezingSUPERFREEZE
button(correspondingindicatorlightilluminates),insert
thefoodandclosethedoor.Thefunctionisdisabled
automaticallyafter24hours
! Donotopenthedoorduringfreezing.
! Ifthereisapowercutormalfunction,donotopenthe
freezerdoor.Thiswillhelpmaintainthetemperatureinside
thefreezer,ensuringthatfoodsareconservedforatleast9
-14hours.
!
Inordertoobtainagreateramountofspaceinthefreezer
compartment,youmayremovethebins(exceptthelowest
binandthespecialCOOLCAREZONEbin,whichhasan
adjustabletemperature)andplacethefooddirectlyontothe
racks/glassshelvessupplied[wherepresent].

Thefactthattheyaresituatedonthetoppartofthefreezer
drawersensuresgreatercleanliness:theicenolonger
comesintocontactwiththefoodplacedinsidethefreezer
compartment;furthermore,thedrippingofthewaterduring
fillingisavoided(alidtocoveruptheholeafterfillingwith
waterisalsoprovided).
