Please read through this procedure in its entirety before
starting work.
It is important to follow ALL instructions carefully and exactly.
Estimated time for completion of this task:
45 mins for fuse replacement on both Komri’s.
1 hour for Aktiv AV5140
Equipment Required
Free standing workbench, 53cm high, with a flat surface, clear of debris and clutter.
No.25 Torx security driver.
Flat blade screwdriver to remove fuses with.
Parts Required
Value/Rating: Type: Qty req: Linn part no:
10amp; 250volt Slow-blow 4 per Komri MISS 397
Procedure
Step 1: Disconnect the Komri from everything and especially the mains. Pull out
the main fuse compartment to access fuses (located directly under the
mains inlet as shown)
Main fuse
If the Komri has 6.3amp fuses fitted, then remove these and replace with
two10amp MISS 397’s.
There are two other fuses to change, however this requires some
dismantling of the Komri to gain access to them.
Step 2: Position a flat surface at the rear of the speaker
onto which the amplifier module can be laid once it
has been removed. Note the height shown in the
photo. Cover the surface of the bench with
protective foam, a towel/blanket or similar soft
material to protect the heatsink.

foam pad
Step 3: Remove the 10 screws securing the amplifier
module to the cabinet. Leave one of the top
screws until last. Note: although the module is a
precise fit in the cabinet, it’s advisable to hold the
module in place once the last screw has been
removed to ensure that it doesn’t fall out.
Step 4: The module will probably require to be pulled
outwards to release it from the recess in the
cabinet. Grasp the heatsink as shown on the
photo and pull the module away from the cabinet.
Do not allow it to move more than 20mm from the
cabinet. Use the hand resting on the top of the
cabinet to control the movement. (Note: if the
module is hot it will be more difficult to release it
from the cabinet.)
Step 5: Whilst supporting the top of the heatsink place a
hand at the bottom and pull the whole module
outwards, maintaining the angle shown in the
photo. Note: the weight of the module is taken by
resting the two pins on the cabinet (see below).
Step 6: Lay the module flat on a soft surface, taking great
care not to damage the veneer on the rear of the
cabinet. Note how it has been laid on a piece of
foam to protect the paint on the heatsink.
Step 7: To change the remaining two fuses, it is necessary
to partially remove the top screening can. Remove
all 4 screws (1 at each corner) and the lift the end
of the screening can upwards in the direction
shown. Note: the cables at the end that are cable-
tied may restrict the movement of the screening-
can.
Step 8: There are two power-supply boards, each with a
fuse behind the inlet socket (see picture), change
both fuses, as earlier, if there are 6.3amp fuses
fitted these should be changed for 10amp MISS
397’s.
Step 9: Replace the screening-can and re-fit the four
screws
Step 10: The amplifier module is now ready to be
assembled back into the cabinet. Before picking up
the module, note how the cables should lie relative
to the support pin.

Step 11: Pick up the amplifier and rest it on the support
pins as shown in the photo.
Step 12: Bring the module to a position where it is vertical
and then push it into the cabinet keeping it vertical
as you do so.
Step 13: Re-fit the 10 screws
Step 14: Repeat this procedure with the other Komri.
Step 15: Fully test both Komri’s.
