Inserting/Removing Drums
Now, based on your needs, select one of the 5 drums (4, 5, 6, 7, 10) included with the appliance
and fully insert it into the feed chute (11). The applications of the individual drums (4, 5, 6, 7, 10)
are explained in the graphic in the section ‘The Drums’ on page 14. Then fit the feed chute (11)
with the attached drum (4, 5, 6, 7, 10) onto the drive shaft (9). There is an arrow () on the back
of the feed chute (11) for easier assembly. An open lock and a closed lock above it H can be
found to the right of the drive shaft (9) on the housing of the food grater (1). Proceed as follows:
Place the feed chute (11) with the inserted drum (4, 5, 6, 7, 10) onto the drive shaft (9) so that
the arrow () on the feed chute (11) points to the open lock on the housing of the food
grater (1).
Now turn the feed chute (11) counterclockwise until the arrow () points to the closed lock H
on the housing of the food grater (1).
If you cannot properly attach the feed chute (11), make sure that the drum (4, 5, 6, 7, 10) is
pushed in all the way.
Store the remaining drums (4, 5, 6, 7, 10) in the storage compartment (8), and close the storage
compartment (8) with the storage compartment lid (3). Then attach the storage compartment (8) to
the electric food grater (1).
To remove the drum (4, 5, 6, 7, 10), first remove the feed chute (11) from the food grater (1).
Turn the feed chute (11) clockwise until the arrow () points to the open lock on the
housing of the food grater (1).
You can then remove the drum (4, 5, 6, 7, 10) from the feed chute (11).
To do this, proceed as follows:
First remove the food plunger (12) from
the feed chute (11). Now hold onto the
feed chute (11) tightly with one hand.
1. With the thumb and forefinger of your
other hand, grip the edge of the inserted
drum (4, 5, 6, 7, 10) and the feed chute
(11) and press them together as shown in
the illustration.
2. This makes it easy to detach the drum
(4, 5, 6, 7, 10) and then remove it from
the feed chute (11).
Please note that the drum (4, 5, 6, 7, 10) cannot be inserted or removed while the feed chute (11)
is attached to the food grater (1).

Power Cable/Power Cable Shaft
Now pull the integrated power
cable out of the power cable
shaft to the required length and
plug the connector into a
power socket that is always
easily accessible. The power
cable can be stored in the
power cable shaft again after
use.
The electric food grater (1) is now ready for use.
8. Initial Operation
8.1. The Drums

8.2. Operating Steps
Prepare the food so that it can be easily inserted into the feed chute (11).
Place an appropriate container under the opening of the drum to collect the food once it has
been processed.
Now insert the prepared food into the feed chute (11).
Press the start button (2) and hold it down. The drum (4, 5, 6, 7 or 10) in the appliance will
now begin to rotate.
In order to prevent the drum (4, 5, 6, 7, 10) from becoming blocked, the food
plunger (12) should not be used until the start button (2) has been pushed and
the drum (4, 5, 6, 7, 10) is rotating.
You can now use the food plunger (12) to push the food down into the feed chute. Once the
feed chute (11) is empty, you can insert additional food items, if desired.
The processed food will fall out of the drum opening on the front of the appliance into the container
previously placed underneath.
When all of the prepared food has been processed, the start button (2) can be released.
If you plan to process larger amounts of food, please remember that the
continuous operating time of the electric food grater (1) is 2 minutes;
continuous use for longer than that may damage the appliance.
Remove the plug from the socket.
8.3. Cleaning
Risk of electric shock!
Always remove the plug from the power socket before cleaning
the appliance. Never submerge the electric food grater (1) in
water or clean it under running water. There is a risk of electric
shock.
Risk of injury!
Exercise caution when using and cleaning the drums (4, 5, 6, 7,
10). The blades are extremely sharp. Risk of injury!
SilverCrest SGR 100 A1
- 17
Risk of short circuit!
If water gets into the housing of the food grater, it can cause a
short circuit.
- Please make sure that water does not penetrate the housing
of the appliance.
- Never immerse the food grater in water.
Danger of material damage!
Improper use of the food grater may cause damage.
- Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, brushes with metal or
nylon bristles, sharp or metallic utensils such as knives, hard
scrapers, or similar objects. They can irreparably damage the
surfaces of the food grater and its accessories.
- Do not clean the food grater (1) in the dishwasher; doing so
would destroy it.
Remove the power cable from the power socket.
Remove the 5 drums (4, 5, 6, 7, 10) from the storage compartment (8).
Separate the storage compartment (8) from the electric food grater (1).
Remove the food plunger (12) from the feed chute (11).
Separate the feed chute (11) from the drive shaft (9).
Clean the electric food grater (1) with a damp cloth. Add some dish soap to the damp cloth for
stuck-on food. Make sure to remove all dish soap residue after cleaning by using a fresh damp
cloth.
The 5 drums (4, 5, 6, 7, 10), the storage compartment (8), the storage compartment lid (3),
and feed chute (11) and the food plunger (12) can be safely washed in the dishwasher.
Alternatively, they can be cleaned with warm water and mild dish soap. These components
should be rinsed with clean water after washing. Make sure that all parts are completely dry
before using them again.
Now, you can reattach the clean parts to the electric food grater (1) and store the clean drums
(4, 5, 6, 7, 10) in the storage compartment (8).
SilverCrest SGR 100 A1
18 -
Please keep in mind that some foods, such as carrots or red cabbage, contain natural pigments.
These pigments may stain the plastic parts of the food grater (1) and its accessories. However,
these stains are not a defect.
8.4. Storage
If the electric food grater (1) will not be used for a longer period of time, store it in a clean and dry
place.
Make sure to clean the electric food grater (1) and all accessories as described in the previous
section.
Store the 5 drums (4, 5, 6, 7, 10) in the storage compartment (8).
Push the power cable into the power cable shaft until only the plug is visible.
9. Troubleshooting
The electric food grater (1) is not working
The appliance is not plugged in. Insert the plug into the power socket.
The power socket is faulty. Try the appliance in another power socket that definitely works.
The electric food grater (1) is faulty. Contact the service department.
A drum (4, 5, 6, 7, 10) cannot be removed.
Always remove the entire feed chute (11) to insert or remove a drum (4, 5, 6, 7, 10). Please
see the illustration of this process on page 13.
