Safety instructions
This section contains important safety instructions for using the appliance.
This appliance complies with statutory safety regulations. Improper use may
result in personal injury and property damage.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. To protect against electrical shock do not immerse cord, plugs
or the appliance in water or other liquid.
3. This appliance should not be used by children and care
should be taken when used near children.
4. Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or
taking off parts, and before cleaning.
Allow to cool and unplug before putting on or taking off
parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
5. Avoid contacting moving parts.
6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug
or after the appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged
in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized
service facility for examination, repair or electrical or mechani-

ing to prevent the possibility of severe injury to persons or
damage to the unit. A scraper may be used but must be
used only when the unit is not running.
13. Blades are sharp. Handle carefully.
14. Keep hands and utensils away from the cutting blade while
chopping food to reduce the risk of severe injury to persons
or damage to the food chopper. A scraper may be used but
only when the food chopper is not running.
15. To reduce the risk of injury, never place cutting blade on
base without first putting bowl properly in place.
16. Never add to container while appliance is operating.
17. Container must be properly in place before operating
appliance.
18. Be certain cover of the chopper is securely locked in place
before operating appliance.
19. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
20. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a
heated oven.
21. To disconnect the appliance, turn any control to off, then
remove plug from wall outlet.
22. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
23. Do not operate unattended.
24. This hand blender is the multipurpose appliance, blender
create maximum rating. Other recommended attachments

Never immerse the hand blender’s motor unit in liquids,
or allow liquids to get into the motor unit housing.

If any liquid gets into the housing, unplug the appliance immedi-

This is unsafe and invalidates the warranty.

Important Cord Information
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended
to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit
fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact
a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any
way.
Arrange for damaged power cords and/or plugs to
be replaced as soon as possible by a qualified spe-
cialist or by Customer Service.

quantities. This appliance is intended exclusively for use in domestic
households. This appliance is not intended for commercial use.

any other type of use can be hazardous. Use the appliance
only for its intended purpose. Observe the procedures de-
scribed in these operating instructions. Claims of any kind for
damage resulting from misuse, incompetent repairs, unautho-
rized modification or the use of unauthorized spare parts will
not be accepted. The operator bears sole liability.

Package contents
As a standard, the appliance is supplied with the following
components:

Operating instructions
1) Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions
from the box.
2) Remove all packaging material.
3) Clean all parts of the appliance as described in the section
entitled "Cleaning."
Check the package for completeness and signs of visible dam-
age. If the delivery is incomplete or damage has occurred as
a result of defective packaging or during transport, contact the
Service hotline (see section 3 year limited warranty).

Use
The measuring cup q can be used to measure up to 24 oz
of liquid. Do not fill the measuring cup q to more than the
maximum fill level of 10 oz when processing food, otherwise,
liquids could overflow/splash out.
If you would like to store liquids or food in the measuring cup
q, you can remove the base from the measuring cup q and
use it as a lid. Ensure that the pouring spout of the measuring
cup q is also closed.
Once you have assembled the hand blender 5, you can
prepare dips, sauces or baby food. We recommend that you
let the hand blender 5 cool off after no more than 1 minute
of operation.
Do not use the hand mixer 5 to process solid foods. This will
cause irreparable damage to the appliance!
Use the whisk 0 to make mayonnaise, beat cream or egg
whites, or mix dessert. We recommend that you let the whisk 0
cool off after no more than 2 minutes of operation.
Use the chopper, consisting of a blade 7, bowl 8 and lid 6,
to chop more solid foods. We recommend that you let the
chopper cool off after no more than 1 minute of operation.
Do not use the chopper to process liquids. This will cause irrep-
arable damage to the appliance!

Assembly
Do not plug the appliance in before assembling it.
Before the first use, clean all parts as
described in the chapter titled "Cleaning."
Assembling the hand blender
The blade is extremely sharp! Handle it with great care.
1) Place the hand blender 5 onto the motor unit 4 so that the
arrow points to the symbol .
2) Rotate the hand blender 5 on the motor block 4 until the
arrow on the motor unit points to the symbol .
Assembling the whisk
1) Place the whisk 0 into the whisk holder 9.
2) Place the assembled whisk 0 onto the motor unit 4 so that
the arrow points to the symbol .
3) Rotate the motor unit 4 until the arrow points to the symbol .
Assembling the chopper
The blade 7 is extremely sharp! Handle it with great care.
1) Carefully place the blade 7 into the holder in the bowl 8.
2) Rotate the blade 7 a little so that it slips into the holder.

The blade 7 will not fit firmly into its holder. This is normal.
The blade 7 will fit firmly only when the bowl lid 6 has been
put on.
3) Add the food you wish to chop into the bowl 8.
Never fill the bowl 8 past the MAX mark. Otherwise, the
appliance will not work optimally.
4) Set the lid 6 on the bowl 8 and rotate it until it is tight. When
doing this, the lugs on the edge of the bowl 8 must be guided
into the track on the lid 6. Please ensure that the blade 7 fits
firmly in the bowl lid 6.
5) Place the motor unit 4 onto the lid 6 so that the arrow points
to the symbol .
6) Rotate the motor unit 4 until the arrow points to the symbol .
If you would like to store liquids or food in the bowl 8, you
can remove the base from the bowl 8 and use it as a lid. To
do this, take the bowl’s lid 6 and motor unit 4 off, and care-
fully pull the blade 7 out. Loosen the base of the bowl 8 and
place it on the bowl 8.

Holding the appliance
To operate the appliance, hold it as follows:
Operation
The food cannot be too hot! Some of it might splash out and
cause a burn.
If you would like to use the whisk 0 to beat cream, hold the
appliance diagonally while doing so. This will help the cream
to stiffen sooner. When beating cream, make sure none of it
gets into the appliance. When beating cream, move the speed
control 1 to "5."

Once you have assembled the hand blender as desired,
1) plug it in.
2) Hold the switch 2 down to process food at a normal speed.
Move the speed control 1 towards "5" to increase the speed.
Move the speed control 1 towards "1" to decrease the
speed.
3) Hold the turbo switch 3 down to process food at a higher
speed. By pressing the turbo switch 3, you will be able to use
the maximal processing speed.
4) When you are done processing the food, simply let go of the
switch.
Should unusual noises occur during operation, such as squeak-
ing or the like, apply a little neutral cooking oil to the drive
shaft of the hand blender:

Cleaning
Always unplug the appliance before cleaning it.
You must never immerse the motor unit 4 in water during
cleaning or hold it under running water.
The extremely sharp blade 7 may cause injuries. Reassemble
the appliance after using and/or cleaning it so that you do not
injure yourself with the exposed blade. Keep the blade out of
the reach of children.
Do not clean the attachments of your hand blender in the dish-
washer, as it may damage them.
Do not use aggressive, chemical or abrasive cleaning agents!
They could irreparably damage the surface!
1) Remove the plug from the outlet.
2) Clean the motor unit 4 and the whisk holder 9 with a moist
cloth. Ensure that water cannot enter the openings of the motor
unit 4. For stubborn food or stains, add a little mild detergent
to the cloth. Wipe the appliance with a damp cloth.
3) Clean the hand blender 5, the bowl lid 6, the bowl with
combination lid and base 8, the whisk 0, the measuring cup
with combination lid and base q and the blade 7 thorough-
ly with dishwater, then rinse with clean water.
The measuring cup with combined lid/base q, whisk0,
bowl with combined lid/base 8 and blade 7 are
dishwasher-safe.

4) Dry everything with a dry cloth and ensure that the appliance
is completely dry before using it again.
Disposal
Disposal of the appliance
Electrical devices may not be thrown away as part of normal
household trash. If you can no longer use your electrical device,
dispose of it in accordance with the legal provisions applicable in
your state. This will allow you to ensure that old electrical devices
are recycled and environmental pollution is kept to a minimum.
Additional information about disposal is available on the Internet
at www.epa.gov.
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging is made of environmentally friendly materials
which you can dispose of at your local recycling centre.
Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally friendly manner.
Note the marking on the different packaging materials and
separate them as necessary. The packaging materials are marked
with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following
