Advice and recommendations
This appliance is intended for non-professional use
within the home.
Before using your appliance, read the instructions in
this owner’s manual carefully since you will find all the
instruction you require to ensure safe installation, use
and maintenance. Always keep this owner’s manual
close to hand since you may need to refer to it in the
future.
After having removed the packaging, check that the
appliance is intact. If in doubt, do not use the appli-
ance and contact professionally qualified personnel.
Never leave the packaging components (plastic bags,
foamed polystyrene, screws, etc.) within the reach of
children since they are a source of potential danger.
The appliance must be installed only by a qualified
person in compliance with the instructions provided.
The manufacturer declines all responsibility for im-
proper installation which may harm persons and ani-
mals and damage property.
The electrical safety of this appliance can only be guar-
anteed if the appliance itself is correctly earthed, in
compliance with regulations on electrical safety. Always
ensure that this fundamental safety requirement is sat-
isfied; if you have any doubts call in a qualified techni-
cian to check the system thoroughly.
The manufacturer denies all responsibility for damage
resulting from a system which has not been earthed.
Before connecting the appliance, make sure that the
technical data on the plate correspond to the charac-
teristics of the electricity mains.
Check that the electrical capacity of the system and
sockets will support the maximum power of the appli-
ance, as indicated on the data plate. If in doubt, con-
tact a qualified professional.
This appliance must be used for the purpose for which
it was expressly designed. Any other use (for exam-
ple: heating rooms) is considered to be improper and
consequently dangerous.
The manufacturer declines all responsibility for dam-
age resulting from improper and irresponsible use.
First use: the glue that is applied on the gaskets leaves some traces of grease on the glass. Before using the appli-
ance, we recommend you eliminate these with a special non-abrasive maintenance product. During the first few hours
of use there may be a smell of rubber which will disappear very quickly.
A number of fundamental rules must be followed when
using electrical appliances. The following are of par-
ticular importance:
do not touch the appliance with wet hands;
do not use the appliance when barefoot
avoid using extension leads
never pull the power supply cable or the appliance to
unplug the appliance plug from the mains;
never leave the appliance exposed to atmospheric
agents (rain, sun etc.);
do not allow children or persons who are not familiar
with the appliance to use it, without supervision.
Always unplug the hob from the mains or switch off the
main switch before cleaning or carrying out mainte-
nance operations.
If a crack develops on the surface of the glass, dis-
connect the appliance immediately. For repairs, call
only authorised after-sales servicing centres and re-
quest the use of original spare parts only. Failure to
comply with these conditions may compromise the
safety of the appliance.
If you are no longer using an appliance of this type,
remember to make it unserviceable by unplugging the
appliance from the mains and cutting the supply cable.
Also make all potentially dangerous parts of the appli-
ance harmless, in particular for children who could play
with the appliance.
The glass ceramic top is resistant to thermal as
well as mechanical shocks. However, it can break
if struck violently with a sharp object, such as a
tool. If this happens, disconnect the appliance from
the power supply and contact an authorised after-
sale service centre to carry out repairs.
Do not forget that the temperature of the cooking zone
remains high for at least half an hour after it has been
turned off, take care not to inadvertently place pans or
items on this hot surface.
Do not turn on the cooking surfaces if there are sheets
of aluminium foil or plastic objects on the hob.
Do not get too close to the hot areas of the hob.
When using small electrical household appliances
close to the hob, ensure that the power cable does not
come into contact with the hot surfaces
Make sure you turn the handles of pots and pans in-
wards to avoid knocking them over accidentally.
13
The following instructions are intended for a qualified fit-
ter to guide him/her along the installation, adjustment and
technical maintenance procedures as correctly as possi-
ble and in full compliance with the applicable norms in
force.
Important : unplug the hob before all operations.
Installation
This hob can be built into a worktop simply by cutting
out the corresponding slot.
The worktop must be made with a material designed
to withstand a temperature of approximately 100°C.
The hob should be positioned at least 40 mm away
from the back wall or any other vertical surface in or-
der to allow for correct ventilation and to prevent the
surfaces around the appliance from overheating.
If you wish to install the hob on top of an oven, the
latter must be fitted with a cooling fan.
Try to avoid installing the hob on top of a dishwasher; if
this is unavoidable, place a watertight separating ele-
ment between the two appliances.
10
Distance to
keep between the
cut-out slot and
the cabinet
Fastening
Very important: It is vital that you ensure the glass ce-
ramic hob is built into a perfectly flat supporting surface.
Deformations due to improper fastening could alter the
characteristics of the hob and compromise its performan-
ce.
The fastening springs are fastened by screws (see dia-
gram).
It is vital that these screws be kept accessible at all
times.
Insert the hob into the cut-out slot, applying pressure all
along the perimeter of the hob frame so that the latter
adheres fully to the worktop.

Description of cooking zones
Halogen elements
This type of element transmits heat through the radiation of the halogen lamp which it contains. It is held in high regard
because of its properties which are similar to the typical characteristics of gas: rapid response to commands, instant
display of power.
The radiant elements
This type of element is made up of many coils which guarantee the uniform distribution of heat on the bottom of the pot,
to ensure perfect cooking on low heat: stews, sauces or dishes that require reheating.

Safety devices
Acoustic signal
Some anomalies, such as:
an object (pot, utensil, etc.) placed on the control area
for more than 10 seconds,
a spillage on the control panel,
sustained pressure on one of the keys, etc.
may cause the acoustic signal to go off.
Remove the cause of the malfunction to stop the acoustic
signal. The hob remains locked; all you have to do is un-
lock it to continues using it (the settings are saved). If the
cause of the malfunction is not eliminated, the acoustic
signal will carry on, while the hob will switch off for safety
reasons.
Safety switch
The appliance comes with an automatic safety switch
which goes off after a certain time interval (see table) in
accordance with the selected power. During the safety in-
terruption, the letters “TI” and ME” alternate on the dis-
play.
for example: the right rear cooking zone is set on 5 and
the front left cooking zone is set on 2. The right rear zone
will switch off after 5 hours of operation, while the left front
zone will switch off after 6 hours of operation.

If the plate is switched on but is not used for approximately
2 minutes, the control lock function will be enabled. If the
same status remains for approximately another 4
minutes, the plate will switch off automatically.
Overheating
Prolonged use of the hob may cause the electrical com-
ponents to overheat.
A thermal protection device temporarily induces reduced
power (3) on the front cooking zones until the tempera-
ture has come down to an acceptable level.
21
Cleaning and maintenance
Practical tips for the use of the appliance
To get the best performance from your hob, it is essential
follow certain fundamental rules during the cooking proc-
ess and when preparing food.
Use flat-bottomed pans to ensure that they adhere to
the cooking zone perfectly.
Always use pans with a diameter that is large enough
to cover the hotplate fully, so as to guarantee the use of
all the available heat.
Make sure that the bottoms of the cookware is always
dry and clean to guarantee correct adherence and long
life, not only for the cooking zones but also for the
cookware itself.
Avoid using the same cookware that is used on gas
burners. The heat concentration on gas burners may
deform the bottom of the pot; therefore, this will not
allow you to obtain the desired result when used on a
glass ceramic hob.
Never leave a cooking zone on without cookware on it
because as it heats up and rapidly reaches the maxi-
mum level, it could damage the heating elements.
Always keep the hob clean. Before performing any main-
tenance on the hob, ensure that the heating zones are off
and that they have cooled down.
Stainless steel frame (only on some models)
Stainless steel may stain due to water that is very high in
calcium, if it is left in contact with the steel for prolonged
periods of time or due to extremely aggressive cleaning
products (which contain phosphorus). We recommend that
you rinse and dry thoroughly after cleaning the hob. If wa-
ter is spilled on the hob, act rapidly and dry it carefully.
Hob maintenance
The glass ceramic hob used as a heating surface is per-
fectly smooth and not porous at all; furthermore, under
normal conditions of use, it resistant to heat shock as well
as mechanical shock. In order to ensure correct preser-
vation of all the hob’s properties, we recommend that main-
tenance be carried out as follows:
for ordinary maintenance, all you have to do is wash it
with a wet sponge, then dry it with kitchen towel paper.
If the hob is very dirty, scrub with a product that is
specifically suited to glass ceramic surfaces, rinse and
then dry.
to remove thicker residuals, use a scraper. Act as soon
as possible, without waiting for the appliance to cool
down to prevent the residual from forming a crust. You
can obtain excellent results by using a stainless steel
wool sponge - which is specifically suited to glass ce-
ramic hobs- and which has been soaked in water and
soap.
Once it has been cleaned, the hob may be treated with
a specific product for maintenance and protection: the
invisible film left behind by this product protects the
surface in case there are any leaks during the cooking
process. Remember to carry out these operations when
the appliance is lukewarm or cold.
Also remember to always rinse with clean water and
to dry the hob thoroughly: product residuals could form
crusts the next time you cook.
Important tips
Avoid using abrasive or corrosive detergents, such
as products in spray cans for barbecues and ovens,
stain-removers and anti-rust products, detergents in
powder form and sponges with abrasive surfaces, be-
cause these can all scratch the surface causing last-
ing damage.
Remember to keep any object that could melt away
from the hob, for example plastic objects, sugar and
products with a high sugar content. If any of these
products are spilled on the hob, remove them imme-
diately (while the surface is still hot) with a razor-blade
scraper so as not to damage the surface.
The hob must only be used for cooking. Do not place
any objects on the hob when it is not being used. Do
not use the hob as a resting surface (for cutlery,
cookware, scrubs, etc.) or as a cutting surface.
Aluminium packaging, aluminium film and plastic con-
tainers must never be left on the surfaces that are still
lukewarm or hot.
Do not use steam or high-pressure cleaners to clean
the appliance.
