collectedseparately in order tooptimise the recovery and
recyclingofthematerialstheycontainandreducetheimpact
onhuman health and the environment. The crossed out
“wheeledbin” symbol on the productreminds you of your
obligation,thatwhenyoudisposeoftheapplianceitmustbe
separatelycollected. Consumers should contacttheir local
authorityor retailer for information concerningthe correct
disposaloftheiroldappliance.
Respecting and conserving the
environment
• Installtheapplianceinafreshandwell-ventilatedroom.Ensure
thatitisprotectedfromdirectsunlightanddonotplaceitnear
heatsources.
• Trytoavoidkeepingthedooropenforlongperiodsoropening
thedoortoofrequentlyinordertoconserveenergy.
• Do not fill the appliance with toomuch food: cold air must
circulatefreelyforfoodtobepreservedproperly.Ifcirculation
isimpeded,thecompressorwillworkcontinuously.
• Donotplacehotfooddirectlyintotherefrigerator.Theinternal
temperaturewillincreaseandforcethecompressortowork
harderandwillconsumemoreenergy.
• Defrosttheapplianceificeforms(see Maintenance).Athick
layeroficemakescoldtransferencetofoodproductsmore
difficultandresultsinincreasedenergyconsumption.
Troubleshooting
Iftheappliancedoesnotwork,beforecallingforAssistance(see
Assistance),checkforasolutionfromthefollowinglist.
The display is completely switched off.
• Theplughasnotbeeninsertedintotheelectricalsocket,ornot
farenoughtomakecontact,orthereisnopowerinthehouse.
The motor does not start.
• Theappliance comes with a motor protection control (see
Start-up and use).
The display is on but it is dim.
• Pulloutandreversetheplugbeforeputtingitbackinthesocket.
The alarm sounds and DOOR OPEN ALARM flashes on the
display (“d” is displayed instead of the REFRIGERATOR
temperature).
• Therefrigeratordoorhasbeenopenformorethantwominutes.
Thesoundalertstopswhenthedoorisclosedorwhenthe
applianceisswitchedoffandonagain.
The alarm sounds and TEMPERATURE ALARM flashes
on the display (“A1” is displayed instead of the FREEZER
temperature).
• Thetemperatureinsidethefreezeristoohigh.Thefreezerwill
maintainatemperatureofaround0°Csothatthefoodwillnot
refreeze,allowingyoutoeatitwithin24hoursortorefreezeit
afterithasbeencooked.
Toswitchoffthebuzzer,openandclosetheappliancedoor
orpressthe+and–freezertemperatureadjustmentbuttons
once.Pressthesebuttonsasecondtimetodisplaytheset
valueonthefreezer display, switch offtheTEMPERATURE
ALARMLEDandrestorenormaloperation.
The alarm sounds and temperature alarm flashes on
the display (“A2” is displayed instead of the FREEZER
temperature).
• Thetemperatureof the freezer is dangerouslyhigh: the
foodinside must not beeaten. The freezer will maintain a
temperatureofapproximately-18°C.
Toswitchoffthebuzzer,openandclosetheappliancedoor
orpressthe+and–freezertemperatureadjustmentbuttons
once.Pressthesebuttonsasecondtimetodisplaytheset
valueonthefreezer display, switch offtheTEMPERATURE
ALARMLEDandrestorenormaloperation.
The refrigerator and the freezer do not cool well.
• Thedoorsdonotcloseproperlyorthesealsaredamaged.
• Thedoorsareopenedtoofrequently.
• Thetemperaturethathasbeensetistoohigh(see Start-up
and use).
• Therefrigeratororthefreezerhavebeenover-filled.
• Theatmospherictemperatureof the area surrounding the
applianceislowerthan14°C.
The food inside the refrigerator is beginning to freeze.
• Thetemperaturethathasbeensetistoolow(see Start-up and
use).
The motor runs continuously.
• ThefunctionsareactiveSPEEDCOOLand/orQUICKFREEZE.
• Thedoorisnotclosedproperlyoriscontinuouslyopened.
• Theoutsideambienttemperatureisveryhigh.
The appliance makes a lot of noise.
• Theappliancehasbeeninstalledbetweencabinetsthatvibrate
andmakenoise.
• Theinternalrefrigerantmakesaslightnoiseevenwhenthe
compressorisoff.Thisisnotadefect,itisnormal.
There is water at the bottom of the refrigerator.
