Put the motorcycle on a work stand so that the
rear wheel barely touches the ground.
Caution!✋
Do not stretch the brake hose. If the brake
hose is stretched it can be damaged. Support
the swing arm when the lower screw of the
shock absorber is removed.

Remove the upper and lower attachments of
the original shock absorber.

Remove the original shock absorber, lift it over
the rear wheel.

Install the Öhlins shock absorber in the same
position as the original shock absorber. Use the
original attachment screws.
Note!1
Lower the vehicle so that the suspension
is slightly compressed before you tighten
the screws.
Note!1
Make sure that there is clearance between the
shock absorber reservoir and the brake uid
reservoir.

is safely supported to prevent it from tipping over.

Make sure that all removed parts are installed
in the same positions as they were before the
installation of the Öhlins shock absorber.
Caution!✋
Make sure that you tighten all screws to the
correct torque and that nothing fouls or restricts
movement of the shock absorber/front fork/
steering damper when the suspension is fully
compressed or extended.
