User Guide
1. General
The KAA0609 is a cable assembly used for testing KNG-M series radios. This cable is compatible with
HP8920 only. If using Aeroflex 3920, please use KAA0609A.
2. The Kit
Double Banana
Plug Adapter -1 ea.
BNC Male Binding Post - 2 ea.

3. Set-Up
a. Please refer to the diagram below for all the setup instructions.
b. Install the BNC Binding post then the Double Banana Plug adapter to the Audio In port 1 and 2
of HP8920.
c. Connect the brown Audio Output coax cable (labeled) to the Double Banana Plug Adapter.
d. Connect the other brown Mic audio coax cable to Audio Out port of HP8920.
e. Connect the DIN Connector Cable to MIC/ACC port of HP8920.
f. Connect the RF Coax cable (N-Type) to the RF IN/OUT port of HP8920.
Note: RF Cable is not supplied with this Kit.
g. Connect the other end of the RF Coax cable (N-Type) to KNG-M antenna connector.
h. Connect the dB25 connector assembly to the radio Accessory port at the back.
i. On HP8920, in RX Test mode, place the cursor to AF ANL under To Screen box then press the
cursor control knob. It should go to the next screen.

j. Place the cursor to Audio In Lo then press the cursor control knob then choose Float.
k. Go back to RX Test mode, the generator is now ready for use.
NOTE: The KNG-M series radios have a floating ground audio output and should be connected
as such.
